Chris Spangler AMES, Iowa - Redshirt junior Chris Spangler is back in the lineup at 174 pounds for Iowa State as the team makes its postseason push towards the NCAA Championships in St. Louis, Mo. Spangler started the season 7-2 and was ranked in the top-five of his weight class. His strong start earned him the top seed at the Midlands Championships. At the Midlands, he suffered a concussion in his second match that has knocked him out of competition for almost two months. The concussion left him unable to do any physical activity for three-and-a-half weeks. Lee Pritts DURHAM, N.C.-- NC State wrestled its second doubleheader of the season on Friday, defeating Duke 24-15 and Ohio 27-15. NC State improved to 7-9 overall and picked up its first win in ACC play. Duke fell to 3-9 overall and remained winless in ACC play, while Ohio dropped to 4-7. The format for the matches on Friday was unique in the sense that Wolfpack wrestlers were competing on two different mats simultaneously. On mat 1, NC State was wrestling against Ohio and started at the 125-pound weight class. On mat 2, the Pack squared off against conference for Duke starting at 165 pounds. (Full Results) NCAA Division II wrestling history was made on Tuesday Head Coach Pat Pecora, who ranks sixth all-time in victories in all divisions, became the first wrestling coach in Division II history to reach the 500-win plateau when his eighth-ranked Mountain Cats earned a 39-3 victory at Shippensburg University. Pitt-Johnstown closed out the regular season with a 12-3 record. The Mountain Cats won the first five bouts to race out to an 18-0 lead.
