 COLUMBUS, OH (March 21, 2011) -- Grapplers Quest will host the 2012 Mid West Grappling Championships, presented by TapouT, on Saturday, May 19 at The Ultimate Sports Center (located at 1200 Steelwood Road) in Columbus, Ohio.
Three hundred Championship titles in Submission Grappling, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Judo and Wrestling will be contested for cash and prizes valued at $15,000, including custom championship belts for Advanced Adult Divisions and the largest medallions in grappling, plus certificates for champions. Competitors of all ages and skill levels participate in this event that is open to all grappling styles in order to determine this year's best grapplers in Midwestern United States.

Grappling is the fast-paced ground fighting art of Mixed Martial Arts, combining the throws of Olympic Judo, takedowns of Greco Roman and Freestyle Wrestling, Leg Locks from Sambo, and other Submissions from Brazilian Jiu Jitsu-like arm bars, shoulder locks and chokes. More than 200 competition teams and 1,000 competitors are expected to participate from 27 countries including United States, Brazil, Canada, Russia, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Japan, Croatia, Holland, England, France, and Australia.
