Jimmy Sheptock University of Maryland junior wrestler Jimmy Sheptock has earned Atlantic Coast Conference Wrestler of the Week honors after a pair of dominating performances on Saturday, the league announced Tuesday. It marks the third time this season the Northampton, Pa., native has earned or shared the honor. Seventh-ranked Sheptock began Saturday with an 18-3 technical fall over Duke's Dylan Ryan, and closed the day with a 15-0 technical fall over NC State's Keegan Cerwinski propelling the Terps to a win in both matchups. Sheptock now has five technical falls this season, which ranks second on the team. He also has a team-best 73 dual points and 56 takedowns. The Terps travel to Columbia, Mo., on Sunday to t

From all points around the globe we hear from those that watch our TV shows. 36 year old father Georgi and 12 year old son Ivan Ivnov both wrestle and compete in the south eastern part of the country for ASK Sliven Club in Sliven, Bulgaria. The Ivnov family are proud to be members of the Bulgarian Federation of Wrestling and they are rightfully disappointed in the recent IOC decision to drop wrestling from the 2020 games. It's their greatest wish and that of the fellow Bulgarians that wrestling continue to be part of the Olympics. It is 12 year old Ivan's fondest dream to one day wrestle on the greatest world stage. I hope he has rightfully placed his faith in the good people of the IOC.

Rob Koll Rob Koll, the David R. Dunlop '59 Head Coach of Wrestling, enters his 20th season as the mentor of the Cornell wrestling program. Koll, himself a former NCAA champion, has led the Big Red program to unprecedented heights on the national stage. Under Koll's direction, the Big Red has captured 13 Ivy League titles, crowned 10 national champions, and achieved 45 All-Americans and 39 individual EIWA champions. Over the past eight years, Cornell has shown without question that it is one of the nation's elite squads with 34 All-Americans (second most of any school), eight national champions, six top five team finishes at the NCAAs and aix straight EIWA titles. Heath Grimm While the Championships are set for March 8th and 9th in Birmingham Alabama, the wrestling schools of the NCAA Division 2 must first get thrown in to the frying pan, that being the Super Regional Qualifiers. The Peacocks of Upper Iowa University will host the NCAA Division 2 Super Region 3 National Qualifier with some of the toughest teams in the country. The event takes place Sunday February 24th at the famed Young Arena in downtown Waterloo, Iowa. Bruce Baumgartner He is unquestionably the most decorated American wrestler of all time, winning 4 Olympic Medals (2-Gold, 1-Silver, 1-Bronze), 9 World Championship Medals (3-Gold, 3-Silver, 3-Bronze) and 4 Pan-American Medals (3-Gold, 1-Silver,); he has also won 12 World Cup Medals (7-Gold, 5-Silver), an NCAA title (and 2 Runner-Up finishes), 4 Olympic Festival titles, 2 AAU National titles and a Junior National title. During High school, Baumgartner excelled on the wrestling team, going 23-0, but was defeated in the NJ State Championship match.
