MMA Fighters Needed NYC Feb 16th & 17th

World class combat sports come to NYC this February 16 & 17, 2013 as FILA and the MMA World Expo usher in the United State's inaugural Amateur MMA Tournament.

FILA, which is based in Switzerland and governs Olympic wrestling and numerous other non-Olympic styles, including amateur MMA, will be overseeing the action together with Paul Paone, MMA World Expo Founder and incoming president for FILA's first State Amateur MMA Association.
Serving as a true international testing ground, amateur MMA fighters will converge at the Jacob Javits Center to test their skills & become ranked through the oldest and most recognized international combat sports federation in the world.

The invitational  tournament will feature 6 weight classes over 2 days of competition with schools and athletes,earning charter membership into the NYS Amateur MMA Association.The event offers MMA athletes from North America the unique opportunity to take their first step in an exciting journey that doesn't end with a medal, but rather allows athletes to earn their way via a structured pathway to potential semi-pro and pro status.SATURDAY, February 16th

Global Proving Ground world -wide fight league to hold tryouts for realty TV show at MMA World Expo.


February 4th   2013 New York, NY

On Saturday Feb 16th and Sunday Feb 17th Global Proving Ground will be holding a fighter casting call at the exciting MMA World Expo at the JACOB JAVITS CENTER, Hall 1B, West 36th Street and 11th Ave- New York, NY 10001
On Saturday stop at the Global Proving Ground booth and register for the casting call.  Interviews will be done on Saturday and Sunday.  Full Tryout with Sparring and Ground work will be on Sunday February 17th from 12:30 to 4:30pm on the mats in front of the Global Proving Ground booth.  For more info go to GlobalProvingGround.com

All competitors that plan to attend open castings for GPG's Warrior Island are encouraged to RSVP in advance. Every competitor that registers in advance will receive an email confirmation along with a questionnaire that will help them prepare for the casting call. Fighters attending the MMA World Expo in New York can pre-register by emailing James Jefferson at jefferson.j@globalprovingground.com.   Each fighter that tries out gets a VOTE FOR ME global proving ground T shirt with QR code to help fans vote for them.

During each open casting call, reality show hopefuls will be required to demonstrate their fighting skills and tell the world why fight fans should vote them onto the show in an intense 1-2 minute video. ALL experienced fighters with a combat sports background are encouraged to try out. Training gear will be available for fighter use during filming. Coaches are welcome to attend.

The exciting reality based combat sports TV show 'Warrior Island', created by James Jefferson and directed by Hollywood veteran Ben Perry, will put 16 elite fighters on an island in the Pacific Ocean. Each week the fighters will battle one another to stay on the island and compete for international stardom, bragging rights, and a significant grand prize. The 16 fighters that go to the island will be determined by fan votes.
