New England Fights! Announces Results of Fight Night VI


Lewiston, Maine (February 2, 2013) – New England Fights! (NEF) presented its sixth event Saturday night at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston, Maine.  A crowd of approximately 2,300 was on hand to witness 16 Mixed-Martial Arts (MMA) cage-fights, including five professional contests and eleven amateur bouts.
The card saw Greg Rebello (15-5) defeat Jesse Peterson (7-3) to claim the Maine State Light-Heavyweight Title.  In other action, Erin Cooney (1-0) downed Angela Theriault (0-1) by TKO and Auburn's Jesse Erickson (4-2) improved his amateur record with a TKO victory over Aubrey Rion (3-3).
"I felt strong," said Erickson of the fight.  "I felt like I technically knew what I was supposed to do in every position.  I implemented my game plan and was able to get the win."
In addition to the fights, MMA legend, and Bangor-native, Marcus "The Irish Hand Grenade" Davis (21-9) was on-hand to announce that he would compete for Bellator when the promotion makes it debut at the Colisee on March 21.
