Liqua Lights Gerald McClellan Campaign Press Release

Liqua Lights Announces “Lighten Up” Campaign to Raise Money and Support for Injured Boxer

GWINN, MI (May 24, 2013) – Liqua Lights LLC, a company based out of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, has announced a series of “Lighten Up” campaigns that are designed to help raise money, awareness, and support for various causes in need. The first campaign the company will run is a “Lighten Up For Gerald McClellan” campaign to help with the continuation of care for Mr. McClellan, who was seriously injured in a professional boxing match several years ago.

On February 25, 1995, Gerald McClellan was injured in a world title fight with Nigel Benn in which he sustained a blood clot in his brain. McClellan remained in a coma for two weeks after the fight. He emerged from the coma completely blind, and he continues to suffer serious problems with his comprehension.

He needs 24-hour care even 18 years after that fateful fight, and it costs approximately $70,000 per year to cover the round-the-clock assistance that he requires. Sadly, astronomical medical bills and the daily costs of supporting Gerald have long ago exhausted Gerald’s earnings as a prizefighter, and Gerald is relying solely on donations for his survival and much needed care. Liqua Lights has started a “Lighten Up For Gerald McClellan” campaign to help raise money for Gerald, and offset some of his medical needs.

Liqua Lights will be selling their own Lighten Up campaign Liqua Lights, and approaching business and sports promoters about partnering up with them to sell the Lighten Up for Gerald McClellan campaign Liqua Lights. A portion of each final sale to consumers will be donated to McClellan for the continuation of his care. Future Lighten Up campaigns will also raise funds for other causes that are in need.

A Facebook page for the Lighten Up campaigns has also been put up (https://www.facebook.com/LiquaLightsLightenUpCampaigns). Supporters of the campaign are encouraged to like the page and put up pictures of them with their Lighten Up campaign Liqua Lights along with supportive messages for Gerald. All the assistance that can be given for Gerald will be greatly appreciated. He loves receiving messages from his fans. Please put up appropriate pictures only, and let’s show him how much we appreciate what he has sacrificed for the fight industry.

Liqua Lights would like to send a special thank you to Rich Bergeron of http://www.fightnewsunlimited.com for partnering up with us on these campaigns and helping us to get the word out. Your efforts are greatly appreciated!
