A perennial underdog, Frank Galarza is used to people doubting him. “The Brooklyn Rocky” wasn’t expected to win in his first appearance on ShoBox: The New Generation last January when he faced undefeated prospect John Thompson, but he scored one of the best knockouts of the year. The 28-year-old is used to overcoming obstacles -- his father died from a gunshot wound complication when he was 7, his mother died of an overdose just two years later. Yet he’s bounced back from life on the streets to become one of boxing’s most exciting prospects.
