Aurelian Smith, Jr.[5] (born May 30, 1955) is a semi-retired American professional wrestler, the son of former wrestler Aurelian "Grizzly" Smith. He is best known by his ring name of Jake "The Snake" Roberts, and often brought snakes into the ring, most famously a python named Damien. Roberts was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by Diamond Dallas Page on April 5, 2014. Roberts is best known for his two stints in the World Wrestling Federation. He wrestled in the National Wrestling Alliance in 1983, World Championship Wrestling in 1992, and the Mexico-based Asistencia Asesoría y Administración between 1993 and 1994 and again in 1997. Mizzou head wrestling coach Brian Smith announced the addition of head assistant coach Alex Clemsen to his coaching staff today, June 13. A native of Moberly, Missouri, Clemsen returns to Columbia after five years as the head wrestling assistant coach at the University of Virginia. "I've known Alex for a long time, going back to my first years at Mizzou when he came to our camps," head coach Brian Smith said. "I've watched him compete, very successfully, at the collegiate level and I've watched him grow as a coach, first at Oregon State then at the University of Virginia. Buena Vista University Director of Athletics Christyn Abaray has announced the hiring of Jeff Breese as its new head wrestling coach. Breese takes over for Sevond Cole, who had held the position for the last six years. "I am excited to have Coach Jeff Breese joining our department as the new head wrestling coach," says Abaray. "Jeff brings with him his experience competing at the Division I level and coaching at both Divisions I and III levels, from upstarting a program to training All-Americans. Knowing we are here to develop future leaders, Jeff has shown that he sees the holistic development of the student-athletes as the main priority. I am thrilled to have him on board and look forward to the growth of our wrestling program."
