"Mighty Mo" headlines Paulie Ayala's August 22nd show Benefiting Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Fort Worth

Forth, Worth, Texas August 18, 2014 - Light Welterweight "Mighty Mo" Maurice Hooker (14-0-2, 10KO) out of Maple Ave Boxing Gym in Dallas will face Carlos Valenzuela (6-0, 3KO) from Sonora, Mexico in a 6 round affair as the headliner for the Scott G Sherman Boxing at the Ballroom on Friday, August 22nd at the Renaissance Worthington Hotel in downtown Fort Worth, Texas.  This annual event is promoted by Paulie Ayala Productions, led by 2x World Champion Paulie Ayala, and is aptly named after Ayala's late manager Scott Sherman.  The proceeds will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Fort Worth. 

Hooker is tall and slender with a wicked right hand ala "Hitman" Hearns and is ready to showcase his power against the undefeated Valenzuela.   Hooker is a fast starter with 8 of his 10 knockouts in the first two rounds.  This will be Valenzuela's first fight in the U.S. as all previous ones have been in Mexico.

 
The co-main features a six rounder with crowd pleasing Samuel "The Main Event" Clarkson who is looking to rebound off of his loss in Vegas this past April to undefeated Jesse Hart on ESPN for the NABF Junior Super Middleweight title.  Clarkson will face journeyman William Johnson (10-37-2, 3KO). Out of the ring for 4 months, look for Clarkson to be rejuvenated and come out swinging while back in his home state of Texas.  Clarkson's sister, Jasmine, will be making her pro debut on the card against Raquel Vidal (1-2-1). 

 
Also on the undercard, exciting welterweight Jonathan Steele (4-0, 3KO) faces Jonathan O'Neal (1-1), Jay Williams (3-1, 2KO) battles Clarence Joseph (3-1, 1KO) at super middleweight, tough lightweight DeAnthony Bonner (7-1, 2KO) squares off against Clifton Thames (3-1-1) and Ernesto Delgadillo (1-0-1) meets Jermichael Neal (1-3-1,1KO) at 118lbs  as both look for their 2nd win.  In a heavyweight bout, Ruann Visser (1-0, 1KO) matches up against Eric Lindsey (3-13, 1KO).  All are scheduled for 4 rounds plus there will one special attraction MMA fight as Peter Grimes (12-8) will scrap with Travonne Hobbs (2-2) at 145lbs. 

Weigh-ins will take place at the Worthington Renaissance Hotel in Fort Worth thisThursday at 3:00

 
All tickets inside the ballroom are sold out, however $10 tickets will be available at the weigh-ins and fight night to watch a live feed streaming on a large screen on the outdoor terrace at the hotel.  It will include pizza and a cash bar will be available.  First fight will start at 8:00 Friday night.

MMA Superstar Johny ‘Bigg Rigg’ Hendricks to Attend Triple A MMA IV ‘Caged Hostility’ Jan. 16 in Fort Worth, Texas

 

FORT WORTH, TX (January 13, 2014): Orthrus Promotions is proud to announce that one of the MMA’s biggest stars, Johny ‘Bigg Rigg’ Hendricks, will be attending the Triple A MMA IV ‘Caged Hostility’ event this week in Forth Worth, TX.  Fans in attendance will have the unique opportunity to meet the welterweight contender during a special meet and greet session at the Triple A MMA booth during the event. Triple A MMA IV ‘Caged Hostility’ will take place this Thursday (Jan. 16) at the historic Stockyard Rodeo Cowtown Coliseum in Fort Worth, TX. Doors open at 6pm. Fights begin at 7pm.
According to C.O.O., J.R. Rodriguez, “Words cannot express how thrilled we are that Johny Hendricks will be sitting cage side and hosting a meet and greet at our first event in Texas. It is an honor to have him. We are happy that we are able to give fans the opportunity to get up close and personal with a marquee fighter like Hendricks!”
Rodriguez added, “We are also excited to announce that we will be streaming the ‘Caged Hostility’ fights live on our website. Ray Flores will be doing the play-by-play during the live stream. Fans that tune in are in for a treat! Ray has worked with some of the largest mixed martial arts and boxing organizations across the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada, Scotland, and abroad in England and Northern Ireland!”

Charles Byrd vs. Mike Bronzoulis New Triple A MMA IV ‘Caged Hostility’ Headliner, Chas Skelly Out Due to Injury



Albuquerque, NM. (December 31, 2013)  Triple A MMAexecutives announced today that a foot injury sustained during training camp has forced Team Takedown fighter Chas Skelly to withdraw from his Triple A MMA IV ‘Caged Hostility’ main event bout against Richard Villa. Welterweight sluggers Charles Byrd and Mike Bronzoulis will now headline the event.  Triple A MMA IV ‘Caged Hostility’ will take place on January 16, 2014 at the historic Cowtown Coliseum Stockyards Rodeo in Forth Worth, TX.
The ‘Caged Hostility’ fight card is stacked with many of the Southwest’s top contenders and will be the first of many Triple A MMA events held in the great state of Texas. The fast-rising promotion is looking forward to their debut in the Lone Star state and hope to feature Skelly vs. Villa on a future Triple A MMA fight card.
C.O.O., J.R. Rodriguez stated, “We were disappointed to hear of Skelly’s injury, but as we all know training injuries like this are quite common in the fight game, especially at the elite level. We wish Skelly a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back in action! We hope to see him face off with Villa in the Triple A MMA arena in the very near future.”
Rodriguez went on to say,   “After learning of Skelly’s injury, our executive team quickly made the decision to move Byrd vs. Bronzoulis into the main event slot. The highly anticipated welterweight bout between Byrd and Fight Master Reality Show finalist Mike Bronzoulis has the Texas fight scene buzzing with excitement! It is a very compelling match-up and definitely worthy of its new main event status. We are looking forward to putting on stellar event!”

Orthrus Promotions & Budweiser Present Triple A MMA IV ‘Caged Hostility’ January 16in Fort Worth Texas


FORT WORTH, TX (December 20, 2013) – Texas fight fans get ready! Fast-rising New Mexico based mixed martial arts promotion, Triple A MMA, is headed to Fort Worth! The promotion will make their highly anticipated debut in the Lone Star State on January 16, 2014 whenOrthrus Promotions & Budweiser Present: Triple A MMA IV ‘Caged Hostility’.  The ten fight bout card features many of the Southwest’s top MMA contenders and will take place at the Cowtown Coliseum Stockyards Rodeo in Fort Worth. Texas fight fans won’t want to miss it! Tickets are on sale now!
Triple A MMA is known throughout the Southwest for hosting top-notch MMA shows and for their ‘Win to Get In’ events, a collaboration with top tier promotion Bellator MMA, where elite fighters compete for a spot on Bellator’s roster. The popular fight promotion is looking forward to hosting premium MMA events in Texas and kicking off 2014 with an event in Fort Worth.

In the main event undefeated contender Chas Skelly (11-0) will face off with hard-hitting Richard Villa (4-2). Skelly, who trains out of Team Takedown in the Dallas area, home to UFC Welterweight Title Contender Johny Hendricks, looks to keep his undefeated record intact. Villa, a well-rounded fighter out of Roswell, NM, has plans of his own; to hand Skelly his first career loss.
Fans can expect sparks to fly during the Co-main event when welterweight sluggers Charles Byrd (6-3) and Mike Bronzoulis (15-6) step into the cage.  Byrd, who trains with Saekson’s Muay Thai camp in the Dallas area, plans to kick off the New Year with a notable win over Bronzoulis, a Fight Master reality show finalist.  Bronzoulis, who is looking to bounce back from his recent loss to Joe Riggs on the Fight Master finale, plans to prove that he is still a top contender by impressively defeating Byrd. This is a fight that promises to keep fans on the edge of their seats!

Paulie Ayala & Cendera Center Presents: Friday Night Fight Series - January 18

Fort Worth, TX, January 1, 2013 - Former World Champion Paulie Ayala has big plans for his promotion in 2013 and will hit the New Year with a bang as he continues his Friday Night Fight Series on January 18 at the immaculate Cendera Center in Fort Worth, Texas.  Ayala will feature an all-star lineup including his top two fighters,Samuel "The Main Event" Clarkson (6-1, 5KO's) and Manuel "The Punisher" Rojas (7-0, 2KO's).

Clarkson is coming off a devastating KO loss in his last fight to veteran Don Mouton in one of DFW's best fights of 2012, but Clarkson is ready to jump back in the ring to headline an event full of top local talent.  Rojas displayed tremendous toughness on that same card, winning a split decision against a tough Pablo Torres who after the loss to Rojas became the Texas State Champion.

In addition to Clarkson and Rojas, Ayala will feature 2008 U.S. Olympian Luis "Latin Legend" Yanez (6-0-1), Maple Ave Boxing Gym's Maurice "Mighty Mo" Hooker (7-0-1, 5KO's), former amateur sensation Ray Ximenez (9-0, 3K0's) and former UFC standout Will Campuzano (0-1). 

Holding true to his goal, Ayala is not only put on exciting shows for the local fans, but doing his part to revive boxing in DFW.  Ayala sees a bright future for boxing in North Texas.

"Boxing is far from dead as Pacquiao and Marquez displayed in another classic battle and even with the surge of MMA, both sports show they can co-exist," stated Ayala.  There's a lot of great talent coming out of DFW right now and hopefully in the next few years we will see some world champions," added Ayala.

Ayala has two fighters in Clarkson and Rojas that have dreams of world titles and with their fan friendly style and a strong local following will continue to be showcased.  Their opponents for the upcoming show along with the other fighters on the card will be finalized and announced in the coming days. 


Tickets are currently on sale at http://www.cenderacenter.com/events starting at only $23 for general admission, $35 for the 1st 2 rows and tables of 8 for $60 that includes a cocktail waitress all night.  

The doors open at 6:00 and the first bell rings at 7:30.  

Weigh-ins will take place Thursday, January 17th at 3:00 at the Cendera Center.
