AMANDA SERRANO COMES UP SHORT IN GALLANT EFFORT TO CAPTURE 2ND WORLD TITLE

April 28, 2012 - Last night in Sweden, Amanda Serrano (14-1-1, 9 KOs) lost a unanimous decision against Frida Wallberg (11-0, 2 KOs) for the WBC Lightweight world title.  Scorecards read 96-94, 97-93, and 98-92.

"I gave it my all," said Serrano. "I know I landed some good shots in the fight and I'm not ashamed of my performance.  Frida Wallberg is a great fighter and I take nothing away from her victory. I'm going to bounce back from this bump in the road and work my way back to the top.  I want to thank all my fans who've been there for me and I promise I'll be back."

AMANDA SERRANO ARRIVES IN SWEDEN FOR WBC SHOWDOWN

April 24, 2012 - After making the long trip from Brooklyn, N.Y., to Linkoping, Sweden, Amanda "The Real Deal" Serrano (14-0-1, 9 KOs) has settled into her living arrangements as she gets acclimated to the cold weather before battling Frida Wallberg (10-0, 2 KOs) for her WBC lightweight world title.  The fight takes place this Friday, April 27.

"It's really cold out here and it's supposed to rain all week," Serrano said. "Frida is used to this kind of weather so she will have the advantage in that department.  But make no mistake about it, I'm coming to win the WBC world title.  Wallberg might be fighting at home, but I'm confident that I will come out victorious.  My trainer Jordan Maldonado and I got our game plan down.  It's time to get the proper rest and be ready for fight night.  I can't wait."

AMANDA SERRANO CHALLENGES FRIDA WALLBERG FOR WBC SUPER FEATHERWEIGHT TITLE

  

March 5, 2012 - Amanda "The Real Deal" Serrano (14-0-1, 9 KOs) has agreed to travel to Sweden and challenge Frida "Golden Girl" Wallberg (10-0, 2 KOs) for her WBC Super Featherweight title at the Cloetta Center in Linkoping, Sweden, on April 27. 

Said Serrano, "I want to thank my promoter Boxing360 for making this fight happen.  It's very difficult getting these championship fights finalized.  The contract is signed and I'm ready to go.  This will be my first time traveling overseas to fight for a world title and I'm going to make the best of this opportunity.  My goal is to get the knockout and leave no doubts in the judges' minds."

Serrano suffered no serious injuries in her recent fight against Ela Nunez and will be in great shape when she steps in the ring with the "Golden Girl.'' Wallberg's slick style will make for a good night of boxing when the two undefeated champions face each other.   Although Serrano holds the IBF title, only Wallberg's WBC belt will be on the line.
