Hector Camacho Jr. To Appear On Fight Talk Unlimited Radio Tonight

On August 8 Camacho Jr. will return to the ring and go to battle against Irish Light Middleweight Champion Lee Murtagh (33-14-1, 1 KO) as he looks to make a statement and show he is not only a strong contender within the division but also has aspirations of fighting for a world title before the end of the year.

“I am anxious to get out there on August 8 at Frontier Field in Rochester, New York and go to work,” said Camacho Jr.  “The fight is promoted by Pretty Girl Promotions, and it should be a great battle and I have no doubt that I will put on a show for fans as I move one step closer to fighting for the world title.  Boxing has given me so many opportunities, and I know that I am mentally and physically focused and prepared to go to the top.”

Since the untimely death of his legendary father last November, Camacho Jr. has shown a different drive and diligence in his training inside and out of the ring, and it has shown in recent fights.  In his first two appearances within the squared circle of 2013, Camacho Jr. has shown the elements of a championship contender, dismissing of his opponents prior to the end of the 5^th round in both contests.

Tonight Camacho Jr. will talk about his thoughts on the upcoming bout August 8, his transformation outside of the ring, and his title shot aspirations as he moves forward in his career.

Flyweight prospect added to bumper Belfast bill

Belfast’s biggest night of boxing with Paul McCloskey, Martin Lindsay and the Betfair Prizefighter all-Irish Middleweights has got even better with the addition of unbeaten flyweight Jamie Conlon at the King’s Hall on May 5, live on Sky Sports.

Conlon (8-0 with four KO wins) is the latest hot talent to box as a Prizefighter Prospect fighter following Matchroom Sport fighters Ryan Aston, Tommy Ghent and Ryan Taylor.

The 25 year old was due to fight on the Tyson Fury vs. Martin Rogan card on April 14 but will fight in a six-rounder on a bill that features Martin Lindsay, who continues his return to the ring, an ultra-competitive line up for the first Prizefighter event in Ireland and Paul McCloskey aiming to get back on the trail of a World title against former two-time World champion Julio Diaz.

“I’m delighted to welcome Jamie to the best bill of boxing in Belfast for years,” said promoter Eddie Hearn. “He’s a richly talented kid and I am sure that he will rise to the occasion in front of a packed out King’s Hall. We are looking to build our team of fighters in Ireland as we plan a number of big shows there in 2012.”
