"The Hawk's Flock" Re-Signs Deal with Sampson Boxing and 340 Boxing

Promoter Sampson Lewkowicz of Sampson Boxing, along with Lesley Comissiong and Jose Rosario of U.S. Virgin Islands-based 340 Boxing, proudly announce the re-signing of "The Hawk's Flock", the sons: John "Da Rock" Jackson (18-1-15 KOs) and Julius "The Chef" Jackson (17-0 13 KOs), and nephew, Samuel "Rock City Cobra" Rogers (14-1, 8 KOs), of former three-time world champion  Julian "The Hawk" Jackson to a long-term promotional agreement.

The fighting trio originally signed with Sampson Boxing/340 Boxing in 2008, but has made such remarkable progress during the term of their first promotional agreement, that each says they are happy to continue the partnership.

"It feels great. I wouldn't even think about signing with anyone else," said 2008 Olympian and WBC #7 Junior Middleweight John "Da Rock" Jackson (18-1-15 KOs). "We've got the best team in the world and I'm excited to see where this year brings us. I can't wait to get back in the ring."

"This team that has been put together has been the best thing that ever happened to my career," said WBC #6, WBA #14, and IBF #15-rated super middleweight Julius "The Chef" Jackson (17-0 13 KOs). "We're going to keep working with this team and I'm excited for the future."

"I am very pleased to be staying with this team," said junior middleweight contender Samuel "Rock City Cobra" Rogers (14-1, 8 KOs). "I will continue to work my hardest and do my part to make the most of all the great opportunities my promoters have given me. The future is very bright."

The fighters are not the only ones happy to be continuing this promotional alliance.

"There was not even a thought about not re-signing this deal. Sampson Boxing has been very good to us through the years and we will be together for years to come," said Tony Rosario of 340 Boxing. "There was not even a thought about not re-signing this deal. We have the best promoter in the world with Sampson Boxing. He is the most honest and transparent man there is in boxing and that was a big thing. We are very happy with him. Sampson and 340 in 2014 will be a force to be reckoned with in the near future."

"We are very pleased to continue our relationship with Sampson Boxing and thankful for the opportunity to re-sign, John, Julius and Samuel," said Lesley Comissiong of 340 Boxing. "We're looking forward to taking the boxing world by storm with these three athletic phenomenons."

"It has been a pleasure to work with all three fighters and my wonderful partners at 340 Boxing," said Sampson Lewkowicz. "The sons and nephews of Julian Jackson are on their way to making their own boxing history and I am proud to be part of it."

The family patriarch, former three-time world champion Julian "The Hawk" Jackson, says he's also pleased with the deal. "Having a deal like this for my boys is something that I have always dreamed of. I'm very pleased with the way things are going and I never had anyone else in mind than Sampson. He is the man who will finish the job and make my boys world champions."

Jackson Brothers Also KO Ratings

John "Da Rock" Jackson
By Andres Sulaimov

This past Saturday (December 7) in a Sampson Boxing and Tello Box promoted show held at the La Boutique Stadium in Cordoba, Argentina, the group of U.S. Virgin Islands-based fighters known as "The Hawk's Flock," the sons and nephew of the legendary former world middleweight champion Julian "The Hawk" Jackson, surpassed all expectations and set a new record for boxing TV viewership ratings in Argentina.

Saturday's show, which featured five interesting bouts, was topped by Julian's son and WBC #6 super welterweight contender John "Da Rock" Jackson (18-1-15 KO's) scoring an eighth-round stoppage victory over veteran Jorge "El Chino" Miranda (51-16- with 20 KO's).

In the evening's co-feature, Julian's other son, WBC #6, WBA #14, and IBF #15-rated super middleweight Julius "The Chef" Jackson (17-0 13 KO's) won the WBA FEDEBOL Super Middleweight Championship with a ninth-round stoppage of previously undefeated Nicolas Lopez (10-0-4 KO's).

Not achieving the same results was nephew Samuel Rogers, who dropped a close 10-round decision to Carlos Adam "El Malevo" Jerez for the WBA FEDEBOL Middleweight Title.

All three Argentinean opponents are sparring mates of Argentine World Middleweight Champion Sergio "Maravilla" Martinez.

The broadcast did tremendously well in the ratings in spite of the anonymity of the Islanders in Argentina, having previously fought in their native land USA, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Panama and Uruguay.

The event was televised to all of South America and North America by Argentine cable giant TyC Sport as part of its Boxeo de Primera series. Noting that in Argentina the ratings are only measured by the viewership of the greater Buenos Aires area a 1.08 rating was achieved, which during the five-hour event peaked to an unbelievable 1.36.

The event also drew a large number of fans to the outdoor La Boutique Stadium in Cordoba, despite the threat of showers.

Top prospect Willie Nelson on the road to Las Vegas for NABF super welterweight title fight with John Jackson

ST. LOUIS (August 30, 2012) - Boxing is a risk-and-reward business. A successful gamble this past May ultimately positioned top prospect Willie "The Great" Nelson(18-1-1, 11 KOs) against undefeated John "Dah Rock" Jackson (13-0, 12 KOs) on September 15 for the vacant North American Boxing Federation (NABF) super welterweight title.

Nelson vs. Jackson will be part of the Sergio Martinez-Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.HBO Pay-Per-View event, presented by Top Rank and DiBella Entertainment, live from the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

Last May, Nelson agreed to be a late replacement-on only 11 days notice to fight-for highly-touted, previously unbeaten Cuban fighter Yudel Jhonson (12-0) on ShoBox. Nelson dropped Jhonson in the second round en route to upsetting the 2004 Olympic silver medalist by way unanimous 10-round decision (97-92, 97-92, 95-94).

Nelson's impressive victory propelled him into the World Boxing Council (WBC) ratings, in which, he is currently rated No. 11.

"We saw an opportunity to beat a fighter everybody thought so highly of," Nelson said. "I took the fight knowing a win would get me back on the scene."

A multi-gifted boxer from Cleveland, who is training with Jack Loew in Youngstown, Ohio, Nelson has been compared to a right-handed Paul Williams or a younger Tommy Hearns because of his freakish size-6' 4" with a 77" reach-for a 154-pounder.

Nelson was a highly decorated U.S. amateur boxer who had nearly 250 matches, capturing many titles, including the PAL Nationals twice and Under-19 Tournament, while suffering only 22 losses.

"Jackson had a decent amateur background in the Virgin Islands," Nelson remarked. "He supposedly can punch. I want him on the outside because I've been learning how to use distance with my height and reach advantages. Before, I just went in fighting, not taking advantage of being the bigger, taller fighter."

Jackson, a 2008 US Virgin Islands Olympian, is the son of three-time, two division world champion Julian "The Hawk" Jackson (55-6, 49 KOs). Jackson, rated No. 17 by the WBC, is the reigning WBC Youth World super welterweight middleweight titlist.

At stake for Nelson against Jackson is a higher ranking, which would move him closer to his dream of fighting WBC champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez. I just take things fight by fight," the 25-year-old Nelson noted. "A win figures to put me higher in the ratings, but this is boxing and anything can happen. I focus on my fights, one at a time, and leave who I'll be fighting up to my promoters and the sanctioning bodies."

Nelson is co-promoted by Rumble Time Promotions and DiBella Entertainment. "Willie earned this NABF title shot and world ranking with his strong performance against Jhonson," Rumble Time Promotions president Steve Smith commented. "This is a great opportunity for Willie to be showcased on one of the biggest shows of the year. I want to thank NABF president Joe Dwyer, who is a breath of fresh air to work with.

"Willie has learned how to use his tremendous height and reach advantages from his trainer, Jack Loew, and he's much stronger working with his new strength-and-conditioning coach, Mike Bartos, who monitors Willie's daily workouts and diet. Willie Nelson is the most complete 154-pound fighter in the world, as well as every fighter's nightmare."

Jackson Brothers Punch their Way to Victory in Paradise

On Wednesday, April 25, at the Marin Center in Saint Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, promoter Sampson Lewkowicz of Sampson Boxing and co-promoter Lesley Commission of 340 Boxing Promotions presented "Boxing in Paradise V" to a sold-out crowd, who didn't go home disappointed.

Fighting in the night's main event before a hometown crowd, John "The Rock" Jackson (13-0, 12 KOs) son of former world champion Julian Jackson, defended his WBC Youth World Light Middleweight Championship and spoiled the undefeated record of Mexico's Jesus Selig (14-1-1, 9 KOs) via TKO 3 (1:33).

Selig was the second consecutive undefeated fighter to be steamrolled by 23-year-old Jackson, who seems destined to pick up where his power-punching father left off.

In the main supporting bout, older brother Julius "The Chef" Jackson (13-0, 9 KOs) successfully defended his USNBC Super Middleweight Title with a TKO 2 (3:00) over Durrell Richardson (13-5, 5 KOs) of Youngstown, Ohio.

Both brothers were 2008 Olympians and both have been nothing but impressive throughout their brief but explosive professional careers.

On the undercard, St. Croix super middleweight Clarence "The Shockah," Joseph (1-0, 1 KO) spoiled the pro debut of Puerto Rico's Eduardo Anduro (0-1) by TKO 1 (0:55); while his brother, super middleweight Austin Joseph, won by TKO 1 (1:52) over Pembroke Pines, Florida's Adam Schwartz (0-2).

Julian Jackson's nephew, undefeated Samuel "The Rock City Cobra" Rogers had his scheduled fight scratched at the last minute due to visa issues for his opponent.
