SADAM ALI AND LUIS CARLOS ABREGU TRAINING CAMP UPDATE

FIGHTERS PREPARE FOR THEIR CO-FEATURED FIGHT ON THE BERNARD HOPKINS VS. SERGEY KOVALEV UNDERCARD

SATURDAY, NOV. 8 AT BOARDWALK HALL IN ATLANTIC CITY
LIVE ON HBO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING®

ATLANTIC CITY (Oct. 31) - As we inch closer to the epic "Alien vs. Krusher: Hopkins vs. Kovalev" fight night in Atlantic City, welterweight contenders Sadam "World Kid" Ali and Luis Carlos "Potro" Abregu are preparing hard for their co-featured fight on Saturday, November 8 live on HBO World Championship Boxing.

Both Ali and Abregu offered insight into how their training camps are going and what the fans can expect on November 8.

Q: Where did you train and whom did you train with?
Sadam Ali: I've been training at World Kid Sports for eight months, before this training camp started, it's my little boxing cave. I'm here with my trainers Willie Vargas and Andre Rozier. My team has a close bond. We're like family and we work together as a team. It's all about building and building.

Luis Carlos Abregu:  I have been training in Los Angeles for about a month - I train in the Rock Gym in Carson, Calif. and CMC Pro boxing gym in Marina del Rey with my trainer Hector Roca. My trainer when I was in Argentina was Nestor Jaime.

Q: What is your main motivation in training for this fight?
SA: Being on HBO. I've been growing up watching HBO and watching the most famous guys shine and I've always envisioned myself in that position. I want to be in everybody's eyes and I want to be known as something special, that's very important to me.

LCA: My motivation is to get this win, so that I will have a chance to fight for a world title again. This dream was put on hold after I hurt my hand in my fight with Tim Bradley, but I'm ready to go now.

Q: What do you like to do when you're not training?
SA: I like to shoot pool, go bowling and maybe play some ping-pong. I like competition and I love winning.

LCA: I like to be with my family and make my parents proud with everything I do. I also like to spend time with my friends and have a good time hanging out with them.

Q: Have you been able to spend time with your family during training?
SA: I spend a lot of time with my family. My only job is boxing, so other than that I have lots of time with my family. Their support is really important and it's always been there. Not everybody has that support, not everybody has a father that can be there for you 24/7 while you're growing up. My family has helped put me in the position I'm in and I'm thankful for it.

LCA: My family is in Argentina, so here in the United States, I have only my team with me. But I will bring the victory home for them.

Q: What do you know about your opponent and what do you expect from him on November 8?
SA: I'm expecting a hungry fighter, a strong fighter. Somebody who sees nothing but winning, he wants to win and he wants to take me out of his way. He's a great fighter and I have respect for him, but I'm ready to go out there and perform.

LCA: I know he is a boxer who had a very good amateur career. I hope that he engages with me so that it will be a good fight. I plan to give the fans their money's worth and I will fight very hard. I hope that he will do the same so that everyone enjoys the fight.

Q: Do you feel any extra pressure fighting as the co-feature before arguably the biggest fight of the year?
SA: I'm used to the pressure because I've always seen myself in this position so it's not really anything to get me nervous. I'm definitely ready and excited. To be on the Hopkins card is exciting, he's such a great speaker and he says things that just inspire you.

LCA: I feel no pressure at all. I have been the main event in many important boxing shows. To the contrary, I love to be part of important cards that people want to see.

Q: With this being one of the first fights in a while between Golden Boy Promotions and Top Rank fighters, do you feel any pressure company?
SA: In addition to representing myself, I always feel like I'm representing Golden Boy too. It's great to bring everyone together, I think we should all work together. It's for the boxing fans and everybody that's watching.

LCA: I think it's definitely a good thing when two important boxing companies work together. This opens more doors for boxers and it gives all of us better and bigger opportunities.

Q: What is something about you that fight fans don't know?
SA: I'm going to win November 8.

LCA: I feel that many people don't know about my power and what I am capable of doing in the ring and that I can beat the best boxers in the world.

Q: What is your prediction for you fight?

SA: I think it's going to be a great performance. I'm going to fight a smart fight. It's definitely going to be exciting, that's just the way I am. I want to excite the fans and I want them to want to see me again. I know Abregu is coming to fight too so it's going to be beautiful.

LCA: I predict that I will win the fight and that it will be a great fight, if we both come ready to do our jobs. I'm hoping that after the fight the real winner will be the fans.

Question for Ali: What does it mean to you to be a fighter from Brooklyn?
SA: Being a Brooklyn fighter means a lot to me, I was born and raised here. Everybody is hungry here and there have been so many great fighters from here. Even though it's not like how it used to be, I'm trying to bring it back as well. There's a lot of those guys I look up to, Mike Tyson obviously, I'm close with Paulie Malignaggi and Luis Collazo. Can't forget about Riddick Bowe and Mark Breland, there are so many great ones I can't remember them all.

Question for Abregu: What does it mean to you to represent Argentina?
LCA: I am very proud to represent my country and I also know that is a great responsibility. That is why I will do my best to take a win back to Argentina for all of the people there.

Eye of the Tiger Management Developing hidden jewels in Canada

EOTTM LOGO

For Immediate Release

Bermane Stiverne, Dierry Jean, Antonin Decarie, Ghislain Maduma
'Fight Club Series' PPV March 28, Live from Hilton Lac Leamy in Canada

MONTREAL (March 18, 2014) - Eye of the Tiger Management (EOTTM) has been developing world-class boxers in Canada the past few years and now, thanks to its hi-definition network (PunchingGrace.com) and popular Fight Night Series, American fight fans may watch top contenders and prospects from North of the Border before they fight on United States-based networks like HBO, Showtime and ESPN.

The seventh installment of the popular Fight Night Series will be Friday night, March 28, featuring World-rated welterweight Antonin Decarie (29-2, 9 KOs), also airing live on pay per view from Lac Leamy Casino in Gatineau, Ontario, Canada.

Fight Club Series, presented by Eye of the Tiger Management (EOTTM), is being distributed in the United States by Integrated Sports Media for live viewing at 7:00 p.m. ET - 4:00 p.m. PT on both cable and satellite pay-per-view via DIRECTV, iN Demand, DISH, and Avail-TVN.  The event may also be watched worldwide on PPV at www.PunchingGrace.com.

"We're giving our fighters opportunities to be seen fighting outside of Canada, through PunchingGrace and PPV in the US, by expanding our borders," EOTTM promoter Camille Estephan explained. "Their fights will be available to watch in close to 70-million U.S. households alone."
EOTTM heavyweight Bermane "B. Ware" Stiverne was virtually unknown in the U.S. until his last fight, in which he won a unanimous decision on HBO in convincing fashion against Chris Arreola.  WBC #1 Stiverne and #2 Arreola will fight again May 10 on ESPN, at a site to be determined, for the WBC title vacated by retired Vitali Klitschko.

Stiverne's stable-mate and fellow Haitian, junior welterweight Dierry "Dougy Style" Jean (25-1, 17 KOs), was introduced to the American public on ShoBox, which led to him challenging IBF world champion Lamont Peterson.  Jean lost a 12-unanimous decision but proved that he belong among the elite 140-pounders in the world.

"People all over the world are going to know Bermane because of the exposure he's going to get fighting on ESPN (not ESPN2 that Friday Night Fights is on), but the main ESPN station that shows professional football and other leading sporting events," Estephan said.  "He is fortunate to have that window of opportunity.  He's a heavyweight with power and balls who has the footwork of a lightweight.  He's deadly serious about what he's doing.  We don't just want him to win the world heavyweight title, we want him to win and defend it many times.  He's not looking past Arreola and is preparing to fight him like they've never fought before.  They're the top two heavyweights in the world without a world title.

"Dierry Jean didn't lose to Peterson because of his ability.  Peterson was at his best, his experience and ability to adjust were the difference.  Dierry will be fighting in late April, early May, on his way back to the top.  He also has the advantage of being able to fight at junior welterweight or lightweight."

WBC #8/IBF #13 Decarie burst on the American boxing scene on HBO, when he upset previously unbeaten Alex Perez, and the popular French-Canadian parlayed that into another high-profile appearance on HBO, albeit losing a 10-round decision to Luis Carlos Abregu.

Decarie faces former Mexican champion Pablo "Sepulturero" Munguia (19-4, 11 KOs) Mar. 28 in the 10-round main event.

The next EOTTM hidden jewel who most American boxing fans may not know yet is WBC #3/IBF #5 lightweight Ghislain "Mani" Maduma (16-0, 10 KOs), the reigning NABA and NABF champion.  "Maduma is going to burst on the scene - the same show as Dierry fights - in an IBF eliminator," Estephan noted.  "People watching him fight are going to ask where this guy came from because he hasn't fought on a major network yet.  He is an awesome talent."

The next wave of EOTTM fighters soon to be introduced to American fans include super middleweight Schiller Hyppolite (8-1, 5 KOs), who takes on George Beroshvili (8-1, 5 KOs) in a 10-round bout on Mar. 28.

"Schiller has tremendous talent and the super middleweight division is big in Canada having produced Lucian Bute, Jean Pascal and Adonis Stevenson," Estephan concluded.  "He learned from his only loss and had to make an attitude adjustment. Another fighter who is going to make big news is welterweight Mian Hussian.  He has two brothers who are fighters and all they do is box - sleep, eat, train -- and then do it all over again the next day. He has a lot of power, plus he's fast and mean.  All he lacks is experience. And don't forget middleweight (IBF #8, WBO #11, WBC #13)David Lemieux (31-2, 29 KOs).  He came up a little too fast but now he's back and we'll have some big news about him very soon. And we just signed Steven Butler, a promising 18-year-old who was the youngest Canadian National Team champion."

Other Mar. 28 undercard fights include lightweight Chris Plaitis (5-0-1) vs. Jesus "Diamante" Perez (4-2, 2 KOs) in a six-round match; super middleweight Pascal Villeneuve (3-0, 2 KOs) vs. Francois "The Tank" Miville (6-1, 2 KOs) and Mitch Louis-Charles (3-1-1, 2 KOs) vs. Guillaume Coude (2-0, 1 KO), cruiserweightSamer Baraket (2-0, 2 KOs) vs. Sandy Pembroke (3-7, 1 KO), and heavyweightZack Bunce (2-0, 1 KO) vs. Steven Harvey (4-1, 2 KOs) in four-round fights.

All fights and fighters are subject to change.

World-rated lightweight Ghislain Maduma Headlines Feb. 5 PPV in Montreal Antonin Decarie in co-feature

Ghislain Maduma

OTTAWA, Canada (January 28, 2014) - Undefeated North American Boxing Federation (NABF) lightweight champion Ghislain "Mani" Maduma (15-0, 9 KOs) will make his first NABF title defenseWednesday night, February 5 against Mexican knockout artist John Carlo Aparicio (26-7, 21 KOs), live on pay per view from New City Gas in Montreal, Canada.

Eye Of The Tiger Management (EOTT) will launch its new Boxing Lounge Series with a strong top-to-bottom card, which will be available to watch worldwide as a $19.99 PPV event being streamed in high-definition via www.PunchingGrace.com. Maduma vs. Aparicio will be the 12-round main event and world-class welterweight Antonin Decarie (28-2, 8 KOs) faces Cesar "El Dolar" Chavez (21-5, 9 KOs) in the eight-round co-feature.

"This series is made to be seen on the screen in HD," EOTTM president Camille Estephan explained. "IPTV is the future in terms of watching entertainment. Our series is old school boxing with cigars, Scotch, tables and seats for 500, in an intimate environment. It really looks great on the screen. PunchingGrace will bring real-life boxing to viewers. They'll be close to the action in the ring, as well in the back area before and after fights. It is available worldwide and we're also developing a network of bars around the world to take it. We're very excited about this undertaking."

The 29-year-old Maduma, who lives in Montreal, is world rated at No. 3 by the World Boxing Council (WBC) and No. 6 by the International Boxing Federation (IBF). Maduma, who is also the reigning WBC Continental 135-pound title-holder, is coming off of one-sided unanimous decision (120-108, 119-109, 118-110) victory last September over Fermin De Los Santos (24-14-2, 16 KOs), who had been unbeaten in his previous 15 fights.

"This is going to be a big year for me," Maduma said. "Everything is in place for me to accomplish my goal of becoming world champion. First, though, I need to take care of business with Aparicio, a tough Mexican veteran with a lot of experience. I never look past one fight to another.

"The lightweight division is exciting but lacks a big name right now. Our division has a lot of good fighters and I plan to emerge as the lightweight champion of the world. I have all the tools to dominate opponents and I'm gaining the experience I'll need to beat the very best."

Aparicio is a former WBC Mundo Hispanic super featherweight and WBC FECOMBOX light welterweight champion.

"Ghislain has blazing hand speed, power and accuracy," commented Estephan, who promotes Maduma. "He's explosive and always in top condition. He wants to win the world title this year and that's our plan. Ghislain has always been a very special talent. He was a young father at 18 and has three children. As an amateur, all he did was work, go to school and compete in tournaments. He didn't have time to train back then. Ghislain, like all of our fighters, now does extensive strength-and-conditioning workouts at highly-respected Centre Claude Robillard alongside Canadian Olympians.

"There are always doubters in boxing. They doubted me when I talked about (EOTTM stable-mates and world title challengers) Bermane Stiverne and Dierry Jean. They're missing the boat with Ghislain, too. Not only is he going to be a world lightweight champion, he's going to be the No. 1 lightweight in the world and a major headliner."

"Boxing Lounge" also features Decarie, the popular Quebec boxerwho is rated No. 11 by the WBC. Decarie's last fight was this past September, in which he won a six-round decision versus Salim Larbi (17-3-2), after dropping a 10-round decision to Luis Carlos Abregu (34-1, 28 KOs) last April for the vacant WBC Silver Championship.

"After Antonin's loss to Abregu," Estephan noted, "he came back to fight a bigger opponent, Larbi, who is really a light middleweight. Coming off a loss, Larbi was a very tough opponent, and a good test for Antonin. He will face another good test in this upcoming fight so he can get back into world title contention. He's not too far off right now. Adjustments have been put in place so that he'll be ready to take advantage of his next opportunity to get a world title shot."
The undercard will showcase many of Canada's most exciting prospects such as super middleweight Schiller Hyppolite (8-1, 5 KOs) in an eight-round bout; light middleweight Mian Hussain (7-0, 4 KOs) and lightweights Ibrahim "Fireman" Kamal (9-1, 6 KOs), Michael "L'Unique" Gadbois (9-0-2 (3 KOs) and Chris Plaitis (5-0-1) in separate six-round fights; and welterweight Mitch Louis-Charles (2-1-1, 1 KOs) and light heavyweight Erik Bazinyan (2-0, 2 KOs) in four-round matches.

All opponents will soon be announced. All fights and fighters are subject to change.

The Feb. 5th show is a private event that is already sold-out. Tickets are not available to purchase but fans all over the world may watch all of the action live on www.PunchingGrace.com

For further information about Maduma, Decarie and the Feb. 5 show, visit www.eottm.com, or follow on Twitter @eotmvd, @GhislainMaduma and @DecarieBoxing.

Nobody can tame 'The Lion' Eddie Paredes primed to Attack top welterweights in world

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. (May 16, 2013) - World-rated welterweight Eddie "The Lion" Paredes (32-3-1, 21 KOs) is prepared to go from being considered one of the most avoided welterweights to world champion.

Rated #2 in the world by the World Boxing Council (WBC) and #3 by the World Boxing Association (WBA), Parades hopes to soon face one of the top-ranked welterweights  - Robert Guerrero, Luis Carlos Abregu or even Amir Khan if he moves up in weight - in a career-defining fight to position him for his first world title shot.

Paredes, fighting out of Hollywood (FL), is riding a 10-fight win streak.  He has won 11 of his last 12 fights with one draw, since suffering his last loss more than four years ago to Carlos Molina by 10-round decision.  Paredes' last fight was a solid victory by 10-round decision over veteran Hector Munoz last November in Sunrise, Florida.

"Floyd Mayweather, Jr. just made Guerrero by giving him the payday of his life," the 28-year-old Paredes commented. "Floyd can do this for many fighters and he's signed to fight five more times in the near future. I'd love to be one of the guys who gets a call to be his opponent. I'm willing to fight anyone, anywhere, anytime. Mayweather has been an inspiration for me. He is the best fighter in the world and, of course, I would love to mix it up with the world's best fighter."

Parades logo
"Eddie is the only welterweight rated by all four of the major boxing organizations (also WBO #11 & IBF #14)," noted his promoter Henry Rivalta (Acquinity Sports), "yet he hasn't been in a really big fight.  I think he's a victim of boxing politics today.  He's talented and a risky fight for anybody, no doubt, but I wonder if he's so avoided because he's not with the two major promotional companies in boxing.  We're ready to prove he deserves a world title shot by fighting any of the top 147-pounders who'll get in the ring with him.  If none of them will voluntarily fight Eddie, we'll continue working hard to get him into a mandatory position.  One way or the other, we're determined to get Eddie the shot he deserves."

During his nine-year professional career, Paredes has defeated world champion Vivian Harris (TKO10), world title challengers Oscar Leon (KO4) and Michael Lozada (KO3), Manuel Leyva (TKO7), and previously undefeated Joey Hernandez.
