100 Percent Clean sponsors Free MMA Seminar put on by UFC Star Chris Lytle

May 17, 2012

(Irvine, CA) 100 Percent Clean, an athletic apparel company, is proud to announce that they will be sponsoring a free MMA seminar put on by retired UFC star Chris Lytle. The seminar will be held at Huntington Beach Ultimate Training Center in Huntington Beach, CA, on Sunday, May 27th from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.  The purpose of the seminar will be to educate people about the dangers of steroids and performance enhancing drugs; in addition to helping them develop and learn new techniques in MMA.   Also, 100 Percent Clean will be giving any and all donations to the Taylor Hooton Foundation (www.taylorhooton.org), which is committed to educating everyone, youth and adults alike, about the life-threatening dangers of Appearance and Performance Enhancing Drugs (APEDs).

100 Percent Clean, founded in 2007, embodies lifestyle choices essential toward achieving athletic goals without the use of illegal substances including PEDs.  They encourage and promote hard work, sacrifice and sound ethical decisions in pursuit of individual greatness.

100 Percent Clean, Chief Operating Officer Joe Martin, stated this about the event, “We could not think of a better athlete to represent our brand and convey our message.  Chris Lytle embodies all our values of hard work, sacrifice and ethics and he demonstrated them throughout his UFC and MMA career.  He competed at the highest level and never needed to use PEDs or illegal substances to do so.  We are extremely excited about this seminar and hope that people not only have a great time but learn about the dangers of PEDs in the process.”

The Taylor Hooton Foundation promotes a similar message to that of the Title Sponsor.  The foundation was started in 2004 after Taylor Hooton, a promising 17 year-old baseball prospect, committed suicide due to use of anabolic steroids.  The foundation is the only entity, public or private, in North America dedicated to educating young people, parents and coaches about the dangers of APEDs.  Since 2004 they have spoken to hundreds of thousands of athletes and others about anabolic steroids and their consequences.   Kyle F. Purdy, Vice President of the foundation stated, “The Taylor Hooton Foundation applauds the efforts of athletes like Chris who understand that cheating to win, is not winning at all.”

Retired UFC star, Chris Lytle, is coming off a close loss in the District 28 Indiana State Senate race and is excited about the opportunity to help spread these great messages to people in the LA and Orange County.  He stated, “It is an honor to work with 100 Percent Clean and the Taylor Hooton Foundation.  As a professional athlete and father of four, I have always been against the use of PEDs.  I am excited to have the opportunity to help spread this extremely important message to youth and adults alike.  Please come attend the Seminar on May 27th, to not only learn MMA techniques, but more importantly to learn about the dangers of PEDs and steroids.”
