New England Fights! (NEF) and TUFF TV (www.tufftv.com) are proud to announce a deal to broadcast NEF’s Fight Night III to a national audience. Fight Night III takes place on June 16th at The Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston, Maine.
“This deal really brings NEF into the national spotlight,” said NEF co-owner and promoter Nick DiSalvo. “With this broadcast agreement, we join the ranks of national fight promotions like XFC, Warrior One, and United Fight Alliance who can all be seen regularly on TUFF TV.”
“We are pleased to bring the excitement of New England Fights! to our viewers across the country,” commented TUFF TV Founder & CEO Lou Seals. “Our goal is to offer some of the best in MMA and boxing competition on television, and we’ve established a quality schedule of programming that accomplishes this initiative,” Seals added.
The deal calls for a series of weekly, hour-long episodes to air beginning in mid-late July 2012, approximately one month after the event takes place. TUFF TV is broadcast to nearly 35 million homes in the United States. While the network does not currently have an affiliate in NEF’s home state of Maine and per the distribution agreement with TUFF TV, NEF assures its fans that they will be able to watch each individual episode in its entirety at www.NewEnglandFights.com shortly after the first-run on TUFF TV.
“We pursued this deal for our fighters,” stated NEF co-owner and matchmaker Matt Peterson. “When Nick and I started NEF, we asked all these fighters and teams to have faith in us. Through three shows they’ve been so loyal to NEF. This is our way of repaying that loyalty. It’s our way of saying ‘thank you’ for taking a chance on us. We hope the deal with TUFF TV opens many doors for the fighters as far as sponsorships go, as well as getting fights in other parts of the country and maybe even landing some of them contracts with one of the three big promotions. That’s the point here.”
“This isn’t a paid programming spot,” said NEF Director of Media, Peter Czymbor who brokered the deal, and whose NESportsTV will produce the programming. “This isn’t a regional cable sports network. This isn’t a web-based streaming channel. This isn’t just highlights of our main event on an MMA news show. This is a U.S.-based, national, television network that will be airing every fight on this card. With the huge, rabid crowds NEF has been pulling in Maine, a headliner like Tim Sylvia, and some phenomenal fight finishes, it was only a matter of time before we hit the national scene. This is just the first of what we hope will be many national broadcasts to come on TUFF TV.”
Fight Night III is being headlined by a heavyweight bout between former 5x UFC Heavyweight Champion of the World, Tim “The Maniac” Sylvia (30-7) and Randy “The Wolf” Smith (14-10-1).
