TWO GREAT MARTIAL ART EVENTS THIS WEEKEND!

WORLD SABAKI CHALLENGE THIS SATURDAY NIGHT
Sabaki... is a Japanese word meaning "to channel power efficiently." It can refer to the effort of taming a hosre or damming a river. In martial arts it means the natural way to use an opponent's power and momentum against him, regardless of size.

For 34 years, the Sabaki Challenge has provided a place for martial artists to test their beliefs in the hard training they endure. The rules are designed to bring out the best qualities of spirit, discipline, power and technique. Action will be delivered in a decisive yet dicsiplined manner; often ending in instant submission. Challenge a modern full contact stand up event in the tradition of timeless warrior code the whole family can enjoy. Fighter applications due March 9, 2013.

The 2013 Sabaki Challenge will be held on April 20th at the National Western Complex in Denver, CO.

Two GREAT events this weekend to go to in the Denver area. Both are very special to me personally.

SABAKI: I have been a fan of this event ever since seeing my coach Clarence Thatch become Sabaki World Champion in 1990. I later  I competed in SABAKI events in the late 90's. Before UFC, Strikeforce, etc there was one event to go to for combat sports and it was Sabaki. OSSSUU!

COLO MUAY THAI: This event is run by my dear friend Oscar Martinez, who I have known for over 15 years. He has a deep knowledge of the sport passed down by some of the great names such as Kru Puk, etc.. He is the most passionate person I know when it comes to Muay Thai and I am honored to be a part of the Colorado Muay Thai Association.

I hope to see you this weekend!
