College years are formative years. They're the years when it should be OK to question, to seek answers, to grow.
Former Des Moines Roosevelt standout John Nicholson was on track from a state championship in Iowa to becoming a National Champion for Old Dominion. Last year, mid year something changed. The 2012 NCAA qualifier knew something was wrong and that it would take a change of scenery for him to be able to complete his journey.
He turned west and looked back home, to central Iowa and Ames, the home of the Cyclones of Iowa State. ISU Assistant Coach Troy Nickerson took the call and within days had worked out a deal that would allow the soon to be senior an opportunity to right his ship and do it where he felt best.
The ability to question, to make decisions right or wrong, to make changes. A young man's perogative or just the right thing to do.
Listen to John Nicholson as he talks openly about one of the most difficult decisions of his life.
