Take On Muay Thai XXI
Fri Jun 28 8:00PM ET

Click here to watch this event on GoFightLive!
Muay Thai is center stage at the Resorts World Casino in New York as TaKe-On Productions presents TaKe On Muay Thai XXI, a full contact Muay Thai event at the first ever casino in New York City on June 28. The card features at hotly anticipated co-main event as it will be a rematch for the vacant 175 lb TaKe-On Title.

In the main event, arguably the most exciting American kickboxer, with an impressive 51-27 record consisting of 48 highlight reel knockouts, Cyrus Washington looks to continue his dominance against the up and coming Kentucky native JR Hines in a 5 round Full Thai Rules Battle. Currently World Ranked, Washington looks for another impressive win here to prove to the world that he is at the top of the food chain and that he belongs to have his name mentioned among the elite fighters from around the globe. Washington always throws devastating combos and looks for the KO in every fight. Hines comes into the bout playing with house money as he is the clear cut underdog here, but the gritty fighter from the Bluegrass State loves the position he is in because he can let his hands and feet go and a victory here will change Hines' professional career in an instant. These two could fight in a telephone booth as this fight will take place in the middle of the ring with both fighters trading their best shots.

In the co-main event, for the vacant 175 lb TaKe-On Championship, Jason Van Oijen (6-0-1) and Georgui Smaguin (6-2-1) will once again do battle to see who the best fighter in the division is. The last fight ended after three rounds, this fight is scheduled for five. Van Oijen and Smaguin fought to a draw after three rounds of hard-hitting action on April 26 and this immediate rematch is sure to pick up right where it left off two months ago. Last time, the fight hinged on a point that was taken away from Smaguin in the fight for an illegal knee to the groin. Without that deduction, Smaguin would have won on two judges' scorecards. Smaguin is looking to make things right in this fight by pushing through any obstacle put in his path. Van Oijen looked sharp in their first meeting, connecting with solid kicks, knees and punches and also held an advantage in the clinch where Van Oijen would toss Smaguin to the canvas if he didn't like how the exchanges were going. This is a real treat for fans and shows what solid matchmaking TaKe-On Productions has, because a lot of times these rematch fights get pushed back for months or years when the frenzy and excitement has been lost. Not this time. Expect Van Oijen and Smaguin to go right after each other as this time someone's walking out a champion!

Arguably the most exciting US Fighter in his division, with spectacular performances and highlight reel Knockouts, Matias (5-2 Pro) returns to the Take-On Ring against Vargas (5-3 Pro), who may prove to be his toughest opponent yet. Vargas's fights in Thailand include a solid performance at the coveted Queens Cup in Bangkok. You don't want to miss it!

Featured Bout: Up and coming sensation Zawistowski (8-2, 7 KO's), who has made a name with his explosive style and devastating strikes leading to spectacular KO's of some very tough opponents, will take on the super fast and undefeated Charles (5-0). The stylistic match up makes this bout a sure contender for fight of the night!

You can bet more exciting, competitive fights will be announced shortly as this card will build on TaKe-On Productions stranglehold on Muay Thai in not only the Northeast but the United States in general.

If you love the art of striking, there is no better iPPV for you to order than TaKe On Muay Thai XXI. Take-On Productions always puts on great shows and this event will up the ante of the East Coast kingpin of Muay Thai. Order now.

Sparta Combat League - Live at the Stampede
Sat Jun 29 5:00PM ET

Sparta Combat League returns to GFL with Live at the Stampede on June 29 from the Greeley Stampede in Greeley, Colorado. This card is highlighted by a title fight featuring a UFC TUF Champion.

In the main event, UFC veteran and TUF Winner Efrain Escudero (16-7) battles Marcus "Bad Intentions" Edwards (4-1) for the SCL Lightweight Championship. Escudero won TUF back in 2008 and has had a career full of both highs and lows. Escudero looks to recapture the promise and potential he showed early in his UFC career where his wrestling and grappling set him apart from his peers. Escudero has rededicated himself to his craft and is intent on showing his supporters and doubters that he is back and a force to be reckoned with in the 155 lb division. Edwards is on a 4 fight winning streak with all 4 coming via stoppage (3 in the first round). Edwards is a hometown product and will have the raucous crowd on his side as he battles the international star. Edwards hits like a freight train and is a compact fighter that fights like a Tasmanian Devil inside the cage. Edwards will come straight at Escudero and look to take the fight to him. Both fighters have chips on their shoulders and a lot to prove in his bout. Expect a shootout from these two talented gladiators.

In other action, for the Interim Heavyweight Title, Dustin Gordon (2-0) battles Steve Paprocki (1-1). Gordon is a powerhouse and has run through his competition ending both fights inside the first round in just over a minute in each fight. Paprocki is coming off a 46 second win in his last fight at Sparta Combat League Heavy Hitters, and his lone defeat was by decision in a close fight. Paprocki is a behemoth and along with Gordon, there will upwards of 500 lb going to war inside the cage. Don't blink as both of these men have dynamite in their fists and they fight with reckless abandon. Pain will be the name of this game when Gordon and Paprocki hook horns for the title.

Sparta Combat League is sure to bring down the house once again as they have quickly grabbed a chokehold on Mountain West MMA and this show will continue in that tradition. Order Live at the Stampede and watch it live on June 29 only on GFL.tv.
