NEF MMA Announces Former CSAM Chair As Director Of Sales

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Rumford, Maine (April 29, 2014) – New England Fights Mixed Martial Arts (NEF MMA), the Northeast’s premier mixed martial arts promotion, today announced the appointment of William “Bill” Bouffard as its Director of Sales.

Bouffard, 51, has a distinguished record of combat sports regulation. From 2010 to 2013, Bouffard served on the Combat Sports Authority of Maine (CSAM), the organization that administers the Maine laws and regulations governing unarmed combat for the protection of the public and to ensure the health and safety of the competitors. Bouffard lead the CSAM as the Chairman from 2010 to 2012, a pivotal rollout during the first legalized period of the sport of mixed martial arts in Maine.

“After having served nearly four years on the CSAM board, I realized my MMA passion lies more with the fighters and the fans,” stated Bouffard when reached for comment. “I want to make sure the fighters are represented well in this sport and that the fans get what they pay for. I’m really looking forward to coming on board with NEF MMA. In a very short time, they have proven that they are the number one promotion here in New England and take the sport serious. Hosting 12 successful events in two years demonstrates that they are here to stay. My goal is to help them reach beyond Maine and bring the best fighters and the best show to the rest of the region.”

“It was Bill Bouffard’s leadership that in great part catapulted the sport of mixed martial arts in Maine to where it is today,” stated NEF MMA co-owner and promoter Nick DiSalvo. “His regulatory knowledge, combined with his passion for combat sports and broad network of business and community connections will greatly enhance the NEF MMA network. We are confident he will continue the huge developments that NEF MMA has made here in Maine and contribute to our future success in new markets.”
