Help Kelly Swanson in her fight for charity!

With just days left until I enter the squared circle, I am working harder than ever to get ready for my Fighters 4 Life Showcase charity fight at Gleason's Gym in Brooklyn this Saturday, November 16. For those who have already donated to my page (www.crowdrise.com/KellySwanson), thank you so much. Your donation is appreciated.

There is still time to donate! The proceeds go to Gleason's Give A Kid A Dream, a great program that gives at-risk youth the opportunity to attend Gleason's boxing program, work with a professional trainer, learn fitness and nutrition and possibly become a world class fighter one day. I have been fortunate to see the benefits of this program during my workouts at Gleason's and I am even more motivated to raise money for the cause.
In the photo above, Gleason's Give A Kid A Dream Foundation youth work out in the ring.

Please help me reach my goal of raising $7,500 beforethis Saturday night, and if you're anywhere in the New York City area, I hope to see you ringside to cheer me on and see my very special corner man Bernard "The Alien" Hopkins!

Additional Fighters 4 Life Showcase information is below.

When: Saturday, November 16
Start Time: 6:00 pm
Suggested Arrival Time: 7:00 pm

So for every interview I have helped make happen, any assistance I have been able to provide you or just in recognition of our friendship and good work together, I ask for your help. It would mean the world to me.

Thank you very much,

Kelly "The Communicator" Swanson

A REAL Fight For Charity On November 16

After 20 years publicizing some of the top names in boxing and experiencing every aspect of those fighters' lives outside of the ring, I have decided it is time for me to see what it is like for them inside the ring too.

On Saturday, November 16, for one night and one fight only, I am going to enter the squared circle and fight my butt off for a great cause. I have signed up to be a part the Fighters 4 Life Showcase, a special night of charity fights at Gleason's Gym in Brooklyn, New York. The event will raise money for Gleason's Give a Kid a Dream. The program, started in 1991, gives disadvantaged and at-risk youth the opportunity to work with a professional trainer, learn boxing and help themselves see their way to a better life.

Most importantly I am asking for your kindness and generosity by supporting Give a Kid a Dream by making a donation in my name. Use this link (
http://www.crowdrise.com/KellySwanson) and click on the "Donate To This Fundraiser Button." You are just a few steps away from lending your support to a program that has benefited New York City children for over 20 years.

Despite my longevity in the sport, I have never practiced the sweet science for exercise until recently. However for the past several months, I have been training at Gleason's with Heather "The Heat" Hardy (an undefeated professional fighter herself) and Devon Cormack (both in photo). With brilliant instruction and a lot of patience, they have taught me basic boxing skills. Also, through the many fighters I work with and know, I have learned about hard work, dedication and perseverance. All of this I will bring into the ring with me on November 16.

Thank you so much and now I am off to get my ring outfit, boxing shoes, mouthguard, walkout music and post-fight outfit.  Of course I expect to see you ringside if you are anywhere near the NYC area. And if you can't be there, a donation would be great and your prayers too. I need all the support I can get for this one!

With sincere appreciation in advance,

Kelly Swanson

P.S. - I don't have a ring name yet. Please let me know if you have any suggestions!
