MORE BOUTS ADDED TO CARD - NV BOXING HALL OF FAME INCLUDED IN 2013 RURAL RUMBLE - AUG 24TH

August 19th, Fallon, NV -- The City of Fallon, NV and Let’s Get It On Promotions have added more exciting bouts, and NVBHOF honor presentation to the sixth-installment of “Fallon Fights - Rural Rumble” Saturday August 24th at the Churchill County Fairgrounds. Rural Rumble 2013 will feature world class professional boxing, and special presentations by the Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame.

Reno light-heavyweight Carlos Gaytan (3-1-1, 3 KOs) has been added to the Rural Rumble this year. Gaytan will be fighting Mexico’s Hector Hernandez (10-6-2, 4 KOs) in a six-round bout. The boxing portion of the show includes undefeated heavyweight prospect Ytalo Perea (4-0, 3 KOs) vs. Avery Gibson (2-2-2. 1 KO) ; rising flyweight star and Reno native Oscar Vasquez (4-1) vs. Alejandro Solorio (4-7, 3 KOs Los Angeles); and Pro Debut Carson City welterweight Justin Benitez vs. Jimmy Jones (0-1, Las Vegas).

After a very successful induction ceremony on August 10th in Las Vegas for the inaugural class of the Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame, there will now be a Northern Nevada presence for the State’s HOF.  At the this year’s Rural Rumble, NVBOF President Rich Marotta will be providing awards to the victorious boxers, and will also select a “Boxer of the Night” for the pug who displays and excellent showing.

Fallon Fights 2012 will once again be held outdoors at the Churchill County Fairgrounds - 325 Sheckler Rd. Gate opens at 6pm, first bell at 7.

“FALLON FIGHTS - RURAL RUMBLE” 2013 ANNOUNCED - YTALO PEREA / OSCAR VASQUEZ LOOK TO IMPRESS IN FALLON - AUG 24TH

July 30th, Fallon, NV -- The City of Fallon, NV and Let’s Get It On Promotions are pleased to announce the sixth installment of “Fallon Fights - Rural Rumble” Saturday August 24th at the Churchill County Fairgrounds. Rural Rumble 2013 will feature world class professional boxing.

Undefeated Heavyweight prospect Ytalo Perea (4-0, 3 KOs) is scheduled to fight his first six-rounder on this year’s Rural Rumble. Hailing from Ecuador, Perea is was a 2012 Olympian for his native nation. He is now considered to be one of the top heavyweight prospects in the world. Perea is coming off of an exciting one-punch, first-round knockout over John Orr in New York City. This year in Fallon he will be tested against the tough and talented Avery Gibson (2-2-2, 1 KO) from Southern California. Although Perea is quickly becoming known for his early knockouts, Gibson has never been stopped, or knocked down in his career. Perea vs. Gibson is a heavyweight battle not to be missed.

Reno’s rising jr. flyweight star, Oscar Vasquez (4-1), returns to Fallon for the third straight year. Vasquez is coming off of a dominating performance over Don Jose in Sacramento in April.  Oscar will be facing the tough Alejandro Solorio (4-7, 3 KOs) of Los Angeles. Despite his record, Solorio is one of the most feared flyweights in boxing. He has knockout power, and has never been stopped in his seven losses - many of which were very controversial split decisions. Vasquez vs. Solorio is scheduled for six rounds.

Carson City amateur boxer, Justin Benitez, will be making his professional debut at this year’s Rural Rumble. He will be facing James Jones (0-1) from Las Vegas. Jones is a professional MMA fighter turned boxer. Justin vs. Jones is scheduled for four rounds in the Jr. welterweight division.

Other bouts are currently being finalized.

VASQUEZ BROS VICTORIOUS IN FALLON

August 27th, Fallon, NV -- At the fifth annual “Fallon Fights: Rural Rumble ‘12” Oscar and Santos “Titos” Vasquez scored impressive wins. Presented by the City of Fallon, Nevada “The Oasis of Nevada”, and Let’s Get It On Promotions, “Fallon Fights” again delivered exciting boxing action on Saturday night.

Jr. flyweight Titos Vasquez scored his first professional win over a game Richard Hernandez. The 2012 Olympic alternate forced the action while Hernandez attempted to counter. All three judges scored the fight 40-36.

The elder Vasquez brother, Oscar, earned his third professional win against Edwin Reyes in a six-round. jr. flyweight bout. This was Oscar’s first fight at 108 lbs, but losing the extra weight had no effect on his ability. Vasquez pressured the crafty Reyes early, and subsequently forced great action late in the fight. Scores were 60-54, and 59-55 twice.

The Vasquez brothers, both from Reno, look forward to returning to the ring soon.

ANNUAL “FALLON FIGHTS; RURAL RUMBLE 2012” THIS SATURDAY IN FALLON, NV - VASQUEZ BROTHERS READY

 

August 22nd, Fallon, NV -- Presented by the City of Fallon, NV and Let’s Get It On Promotions, the “Rural Rumble: Fallon Fights 2012” show promises to be another thrilling night featuring excellent fights. The fights are this Saturday, August 25th at the Churchill County Fairgrounds, and will feature world class professional boxing. This will be the fifth installment of this annual event held in “The Oasis of Nevada.” 

Headlining the boxing portion of the Rural Rumble is flyweight Oscar Vasquez (2-1). He returns to Fallon after an action packed win over Vincente Medellin last year. Oscar will be facing Edwin Reyes (0-0-2) in a six-round bout.

Oscar’s younger brother, Santos, will be making his highly anticipated professional debut at Rural Rumble 2012. Santos, who was a top USA boxing amateur and nearly a member of the 2012 USA Olympic team, will be fighting Richard Hernandez (0-2) of San Antonio, TX. Vasquez vs. Hernandez is scheduled for four rounds in the Jr. Flyweight division.

In a separate bout, undefeated Jr. Middleweight prospect Jose “Chuy” Elizondo (1-0) of Carson City, NV is slated to fight in a four-round bout. 

Also scheduled on the boxing portion of the show is Reno favorite “King” Bubba Dupree (1-2). Dupree will be fighting Jose “The Puma” Gonzales (1-1-1) from Yuma, AZ.
