SIGNS A THREE YEAR CONTRACT WITH THE GOODWINS

28 year old professional boxer Daley “Star” Ojuederie has returned from his stint in the Big Brother house ready to launch a serious assault on the Super-Middleweight division.

After having a meeting with trainer Don Charles and promoter/manager Steve Goodwin Daley signed a three year deal with Goodwin and is ready to launch his career starting on the 16^th November Goodwin card at York Hall.

“It was a no brainer to sign with Steve” said Daley. “You only have to see what he has done with my stablemate Ian Lewison, Richard Commey (Commonwealth title shot in his next fight) and many others to see what he can do”.

“I am now fully focused on my boxing career. Going into Big Brother has helped create a fan base for me who I am sure will turn out in force for me in November and I thank every single one of them in advance for helping me on the road to what I believe will be my destiny with  a British title and beyond”.

Trainer Don Charles was delighted with the team up “I know Steve Goodwin not only through boxing but as a friend and he will look after Daley and make sure we make the right ongoing decisions”.

Steve finished by saying “I would like to thank Daley  for putting his faith in me. I will help him achieve everything he wants. We just need consistency now and activity. He is extremely talented and I cannot wait to see Daley back in action on 16^th November.

Angry Darch labels lippy Lewison 'Professor Klump'

Welsh heavyweight Dorian Darch fights for the first time outside his homeland when he tackles former amateur world number four Ian Lewison at Brentwood on December 8^th.

The big men clash on Steve Goodwin's huge 'Earthquake in Essex' bill.

A war of words has developed on Twitter with Lewison claiming he will knock out the undefeated Darch (6-0) in two rounds.

“I am fed up with Lewison shouting his mouth off. If Lewison knocks me out in two rounds I will never put a pair of wraps on again, let alone gloves,” said Darch.

“He is delusional. He certainly talks a good fight because from what I have seen he cannot fight one. He looks more like Professor Klump than a heavyweight boxer and my '0' will remain intact on December 8^th. I will be bringing two coachloads of fans from Wales and there's only one winner."

Lewison has other ideas and for the first time will have Dereck Chisora's trainer Don Charles in his corner. “Darch is going down in round two."

The exciting Darch v Lewison clash is part of a 15 fight+ card promoted by Goodwin Promotions at Brentwood which features eight bouts where both boxers have winning records.

Goodwin Promotions/Don Charles statement on Ali Adams failed drugs test

On behalf of Goodwin Promotions and trainer Don Charles we were extremely disappointed to learn of Ali Adams positive drugs test for a banned substance.

Together we have put a lot of time, money and effort into Ali.

What we expected was for him to train hard and give everything to us and behave in a totally professional manner.

Don Charles gave up a week sparring with Ali in Germany and spent a 12 week training camp with Ali. We made a financial loss on the Brentwood promotion where we brought Audley Harrison in from America to give Ali his big chance.

The ethos of Goodwin Promotions is to give boxers a chance on a big stage that they would not have had without us and for the first boxer that we have given this chance to being tested positive is a massive let down to us.

We feel let down by Ali whether it is naive or not. 

We are totally against the use of PED’s in boxing and a boxer should be smart enough to ensure any substance that enters his body is not a banned one.

2012 has see many boxers come under suspicion and some banned and we back everything that the drugs agencies are doing  to clean up the sport.

Whatever punishment Ali Adams receives will be supported by Goodwin Promotions and trainer Don Charles

ALI ADAMS IN GERMANY PREPARING FOR AUDLEY HARRISON

“I am doing this fight with Audley in memory of my father”

Ali Adams today finishes his four days of sparring with leading German heavyweight Francesco Pianeta. Pianeta ranked 30^th in the world was chosen by promoter Steve Goodwin as the ideal sparring partner for Adams being a 6 foot 5 southpaw.

Ali has spent the last four days with trainer Don Charles in Germany and wants to leave nothing to chance for his date with destiny.

“My preparations could not have gone better. I have trained for 11 weeks on a full time basis and have never been fitter, never been stronger and  never been more mentally prepared. My sparring with Pianeta could not have gone better.”

Ali added “This fight is Rocky Balboa v Apollo Creed” I am the guy with nothing who has been taken out of nowhere by my promoter to have this opportunity against a multi-millionaire who has everything financially. 26^th May 2011 my father died. He was my inspiration in life and I have still not got over it. I know he will be in the right with me 12 months to the date he died. When Audley postponed the first fight and the date was moved I know this was meant to be.”
