Ian Lewison FIGHTS IN WATFORD ON 5TH OCTOBER

Fresh from his two round destruction of Tom Dallas to win the Southern Area Heavyweight title, Lewison is keeping busy as he fights again in just over two weeks at the Watford Colosseum at the Goodwin Promotions “Boys are Back in town” show.

Manager Steve Goodwin immediately contacted the British Boxing Board of control to get Lewison made mandatory for John McDermott’s English title which has now gone out to purse bids with the fight to take place by the end of 2013.

“I don’t want to sit and wait for McDermott. I want to keep busy and I am ready to lay another one out on 8th October. Then McDermott will be knocked out inside four rounds and then David Price’s British title will be my target.”

“I am delighted how my career has turned round under Steve Goodwin. I promised him over a year ago that I would do for hi m what Lennox Lewis did for Frank Maloney and I intend to fulfil my promise”

Ian has an International contest on an action packed show which brings professional boxing back to Watford for the first time in four years. Two other heavyweights feature on the bill with Hatfield’s Tom “not so” Little having his first fight since signing with the Goodwin’s and exciting heavyweight prospect AJ Carter looking for this third successive win.

“The Boys and Back in Town” is aptly names as the show is headlined by two local lads Liam and Miles Shinkwin who both have 6 round International contests.

St Albans Welterweight Danny Murphy features and the show sees the debut of the exciting “Lionheart” Dave Leo at Featherweight.

Hatfield Heavyweight Little latest to join Goodwin team

Hatfield's promising Tom 'Not so' Little is the latest big man to put pen to paper and join the Goodwin heavyweight bandwagon.

The Goodwins already have Ian Lewison, Tom Dallas, AJ Carter and Dominic Akinlade, with Tom becoming the fifth Goodwin heavyweight.

Little won his first three bouts before going into Prizefighter in 2012 at short notice and losing to Tom Dallas after winning the first two rounds but running out of steam. “I will never go into a fight unfit again,” said Little, who now trains with Barry Smith in London.

"To sign with Steve was a no brainer," said Tom. Apart from Matchroom, Steve Goodwin is the only one who will actually invest in a hevayweight's development in this part of the country. He gave Ali Adams his chance against Audley Harrison and has resurrected Ian Lewison's career. In fact it was Ian who highly recommended Steve.

"I aim to be in title contention within 12 months and am leaving the pathway to Steve as I trust his judgement," said Little.

Goodwin said: "Tom showed in his fight against Tom Dallas that he has the ability to mix it at a high level. I look forward to helping him realise his aspirations and give him every opportunity to get to the top of heavyweight boxing.”

Little makes his Goodwin debut on 5th October at Watford Colosseum in the 'Boys are Back in Town' show which features the Luton v Watford clash for the Southern Area lightweight title between Michael Devine and Liam Shinkwin

Lewison v Dallas - Big Heavyweight clash on!

Forget David Haye v Tyson Fury for the time being. A massive heavyweight clash takes place on 7th September at York Hall where I an Lewison takes on Tom Dallas for the Southern Area title.

Both fighters have a lot to prove. Lewison is trying to use this fight to break into the big time whilst Dallas is looking to resurrect his career after losses to David Price and Matt Skelton.

This really is a crossroads fight for both and a fight where anything could happen.  Trainer Don Charles said “forget Haye v Fury this could be the heavyweight fight of the year”.

The fight headlines the Olivia Goodwin promoted “Brawl in the Hall”.

There is no love lost between both fighters. Dallas said “I cannot believe how many people fancy Lewison. He lost to Colin Kenna and drew with an Eastern European journeyman. He is my pass to title action and he will not stand in my way.” Lewison retorted “Dallas is going to get assaulted by me. Make sure you bring a pillow for him as I am gonna put him to sleep”.

This intriguing clash is part of an exciting 16 fights card where chief support is the grudge re-match for the Southern Area Cruiserweight title between holder Menay “The emperor” Edwards and JJ Ojuederie. Edwards won the first clash and what ended a bad tempered affair has ended up with a grudge re-match.

Lee Markham competes for the International Masters Super-Middleweight title and the show sees the return of former WBO International champion Tony Conquest in an 6 round contest. The show also features exciting heavyweight prospects Dominic Akinlade and AJ Carter and many others.

LEWISON TELLS SAM SEXTON TO TAKE HIS DRESS OFF AND FIGHT

LEWISON OFFERS SEXTON A £50,000 WINNER TAKES ALL OPTION

Brixton Heavyweight Ian “Layemout” Lewison was left seething at the weekend after reading  Sam Sexton announcing on Twitter that fighting Lewison was beneath him (as Ian was too lowly rated) and he was not interested.

This is despite the Lewison v Sexton match being mandated for the Southern Area title (going out to purse bids) and Lewison’s promoter Steve Goodwin asking the board to sanction this as an eliminator for the  English/British title.

A seething Lewison said. Samantha has cited two reasons for avoiding me 1) I am not good enough to fight him and 2) I am looking for a payday.

Let me dispense this nonsense:

1)      I am rated 84 in the world. Sextons three bums he has fought this year have won a combined total of 22 bouts out of over 100 they have previously fought in.

2)      If Sexton comes to London for the fight I am prepared to beat him for free so he can get one final payday.

3)      If he wants my promoter and his promoter can lodge £25,000 each as a purse with winner taking all.

Sexton is a coward and should get out of the dresses he wears around Norwich, develop some balls and fight. He is supposed to be a professional boxer yet he is more interested in wearing frilly knickers and hiding under a table”.

Lewison’s promoter Steve Goodwin said “It is very difficult with Ian. I have been trying to get him a meaningful fight. Richard Towers says he will fight Ian for the right money but he has Lucas Browne first. I have spoken to Martin Rogan but am awaiting a reponse but this from Sam Sexton is laughable. I am quite happy to lodge £25,000 ifSexton’s promoter wants to do the same. Lets cut the rubbish out Sam Sexton is afrarid to fight Ian as he knows he has a major risk of losing. Its not about rankings or money. We are happy to do it in Norwich or London. Lets get it on.”

Lewison finished off with “Sam Sexton is an embarrassment to heavyweight boxing. He wants to keep fooling the public by fighting these journeyman. I am not interested in journeymen. I want credible fights. I will even let Sexton come to the ring in his dress and frilly panties if he wants”.

Angry Darch labels lippy Lewison 'Professor Klump'

Welsh heavyweight Dorian Darch fights for the first time outside his homeland when he tackles former amateur world number four Ian Lewison at Brentwood on December 8th.

The big men clash on Steve Goodwin's huge 'Earthquake in Essex' bill.

A war of words has developed on Twitter with Lewison claiming he will knock out the undefeated Darch (6-0) in two rounds.

“I am fed up with Lewison shouting his mouth off. If Lewison knocks me out in two rounds I will never put a pair of wraps on again, let alone gloves,” said Darch.

“He is delusional. He certainly talks a good fight because from what I have seen he cannot fight one. He looks more like Professor Klump than a heavyweight boxer and my '0' will remain intact on December 8th. I will be bringing two coachloads of fans from Wales and there's only one winner."

Lewison has other ideas and for the first time will have Dereck Chisora's trainer Don Charles in his corner. “Darch is going down in round two."

The exciting Darch v Lewison clash is part of a 15 fight+ card promoted by Goodwin Promotions at Brentwood which features eight bouts where both boxers have winning records.

There will be five hours of live free to air boxing on Primetime from 6pm to 11pm.

Tickets can be bought at www.goodwinpromotions.co.uk or by calling 01525 851150.

BRIXTON HEAVYWEIGHT IAN LEWISON LOOKS TO RE-START HIS CAREER ON 7TH JULY

“With my new team I am heading for the top”

Brixton Heavyweight Ian Lewison looks to get his faltering career back on track on July 7th.

Lewison who lost in two ABA finals to David Dolan and David Price (disputed decision) has made an inauspicious start to his career winning 4 and drawing 1 from 6 fights.

“Fights kept falling through and I lost motivation for the sport” said Lewison who weighed 18 stone 12 for his last fight when an unfit Lewison lost to Colin Kenna on points over 4 rounds. “I was a disgrace and an embarrassment to myself. I was not fit and in no condition. It will never happen again”.

Lewison who will weigh in around 17 stone 7 lbs on July 7th has signed a long term deal with fledgling promoter Steve Goodwin and is re-motivated with Steve promoting him “It was an easy decision to sign with Steve. He is going places and I saw what he did by giving Ali Adams a big chance with Audley Harrison.  The only difference is when Steve gives me my big chance is that I will take it and win.”

“Steve will get me four fights this year and next year we will start to aim high. We have decided we do not want easy fights so on July 7th I will take on Istvan Ruszinsky who has lost only 1 from 5 fights and has knocked out 2 of his last 3 opponents. He comes to fight and I aim to knock him out and put on a big show to issue a statement that Lewison is coming!”

The Lewison v Ruszinksky fight is on the undercard of a dual title show at York Hall promoted by Goodwin Promotions featuring the eagerly awaiting Southern Area Cruiserweight title fight between Tony Conquest and Leon Williams and the Light-Middlewieght title clash between Nathan Weiss and Ryan Toms.

Chief support to these two fights sees the sensational Ghanain Champion Richard Commey (11 fights 11 wins 11 knockouts) take on Kris Hughes who most recently fought Carl Frampton for the Commonwealth title. Hughes is moving up in weight and wants to make a statement whilst for Commey this is the scalp he wants to show that he is en-route to the top. Commey promises fireworks and his twelfth straight knock out.

Tickets for this exciting night of boxing can be obtained from www.goodwinmainevents.co.uk or by calling 01525 851150.
