CARD SET FOR THIS THURSDAY NIGHT’S CHAMPIONS OF TOMORROW SHOW AT THE DECK IN ESSINGTON, PA

ESSINGTON, PA (June 25, 2013)—This Thursday night June 27^th at the Deck in Essington, PA, Marty Feldman and Meldrick Taylor’s Champions of Tomorrow will present its inaugural show with a terrific seven bout card.

In the main event, 2008 Olympic Bronze medal winner, Yordenis Ugas will take on tough veteran Adan Hernandez in a ten round Jr. Welterweight bout.

Ugas of Miami, Florida via Santiago, Cuba has an outstanding record of 13-1 with 6 knockouts.

He is known as a top prospect with championship potential as he won his first eleven fights which include a win over tough Kenny Abril.

He has won two in a row with the latest being a 10 round unanimous decision over former world title challenger Cosme Rivera on December 7^th.

Hernandez of El Paso, Texas has a record of 15-7 with 6 knockouts.

The thirty-two year old Hernandez has fought a whose who of the top fighters such as undefeated Hugo Lewis (12-0-1); Rock Allen; World title challengers Urbano Antillion and Anthony Peterson as well as currant World champion Danny Garcia.

In a four round Welterweight bout son of former Heavyweight champion Tim Witherspoon, Tim Witherspoon Jr. (9-3-1, 2 KO’s) of Philadelphia takes on Josh Beeman (4-11-4, 2 KO’s) of Providence, RI.

Son of former world Heavyweight champion Bruce Seldon, Isiah Seldon (7-0, 3 KO’s) of Atlantic City, NJ battles Lekan Byfield (3-4-2, 1 KO) of Atlanta in a six round Middleweight bout.

Son of former world title challenger Tyrone Crawley, Tyrone Crawley Jr. (3-0) takes on Christian Steele (3-5-1, 1 KO) of Philadelphia.

David Gonzales (1-0) of Philadelphia, PA fights Pro debuting Evencii Dixon of Lancaster, PA in a four round Jr. Welterweight bout.

Dante Selby (1-0-1) will box Zeferino Albino (4-17-3, 2 KO’s) in a fight featuring two Philadelphia based Heavyweights scheduled for four rounds.

Lonnie Jackson (1-0-1) of Philadelphia takes on battle tested Travis Thompson (4-10-2, 3 KO’s) of Pottstown, PA in a Lightweight bout scheduled for four rounds.

FORMER OLYMPIC GOLD MEDAL WINNER AND TWO-TIME WORLD CHAMPION MELDRICK TAYLOR TO JOIN CHAMPIONS OF TOMORROWPROMOTIONAL TEAM

ESSINGTON, PA (MAY 8, 2013)—Former Olympic Gold Medal winner and two-time world champion Meldrick Taylor has been added to the Champions of Tomorrow Promotional team.

The inaugural event will take place on Thursday night June 20^th at the Deck in Essington, PA.

Taylor, who captured Olympic Gold in 1984, went on to win the IBF Jr. Welterweight championship with a 12^th round stoppage over Buddy McGirt on September 3, 1988.  Taylor defended the title twice before engaging his memorable fight with Julio Cesar Chavez.  Taylor went on to win WBA Welterweight title with a 12 round unanimous decision over Aaron Davis.  He defended that belt two times and challenged for the world championship on three more occasions.

Taylor joins Marty and Damon Feldman as part of the promotional team.

“It’s great to get back in boxing”, said Taylor

“I hope to help these young fighters realize their dreams to become world champions and with my experience I hope to be able to provide that insight.  Plus it’s great to work with Damon and his father.  We go back a long time.  In fact Damon fought on one of my undercards”

MILLVILLE, NJ (October 26, 2012)—TOMORROW at the New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville, NJ four of the main fighters that will appear on a big night of boxing on November 10^th at the Park will be on hand to sign autographs and take pictures with fans.

Undefeated fighters Thomas “Cornflake”LaManna, Anthony “Juice”Young, Derrick “Take It To The Bank”Webster and Isiah Seldon along with National Anthem singer Tatiana Barbosa  will be on hand at the Park’s Annual Harvest Weekend.

Undefeated Anthony Young, Derrick Webster, Isiah Seldon, Godson Noel & Amir Shabazz Also on Card for NJMP’s First-Ever Boxing Event

MILLVILLE, N.J. – September 19, 2012 -- On Saturday night, November 10th, Gulfstream Boxing Promotions presents a special night of boxing at New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville, New Jersey. In the main event, undefeated Jr. Middleweight Thomas “Cornflake” LaManna will see action against opponent to be named in a six round bout.

The bout for LaManna is special for a variety of reasons as he will be fighting in his hometown of Millville for the very first time and the bout takes place just two days before LaManna’s 21st birthday.

LaManna is 9-0 with five knockouts is coming off a six round split decision victory over tough Yolexcy Leiva on August 18th in Atlantic City.

“I am very excited about this fight and event coming to Millville”, said LaManna. “It should be a great night of boxing and I want to thank the New Jersey Motorsports Park and my promoter Vincent Ponte for making this dream of fighting at home to come true.  I plan to put on a great fight and hopefully this could be the beginning of boxing in Millville.”

In the six-round co-feature, undefeated Jr. Welterweight Anthony “Juice “Young will see action against opponent to be named.

Young, of nearby Atlantic City, has a record of 6-0 with two knockouts and is coming off a four round unanimous majority decision over Richard Andrews on July 27th.

Competing in eight-round bouts will be undefeated Super Middleweight Derrick Webster and Jr. Lightweight Joselito Collado.

Webster of Glassboro, New Jersey, has a record of 13-0 with seven knockouts and is starting to get national attention as he has stepped up the competition in recent bouts. He is coming off an eight round unanimous decision over Sabou Ballagou on April 27th and Webster has recently spent time in the camps of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Andre Ward.

Collado of Queens, New York, has a record of 13-2 with three knockouts has fought top competition. He has an impressive first-round stoppage over Jules Blackwell (8-2-2) and decision over Rafael Lora (11-3). Collado’s only two blemishes have been to top prospect Casey Ramos (14-0) and his last bout when he lost a decision to Jerry Belmontes (16-0) on September 8th.

Also seeing action in a six round bout will be undefeated Middleweight Isiah Seldon.

Seldon, of Atlantic City, has a record of 6-0 with three knockouts and the undefeated son of former WBA Heavyweight champion Bruce Seldon is coming off a second-round stoppage over Kenneth Moody on February 4th.

Appearing in four-round bouts will be Jon Bolden (5-4, 5 KO’s) of New York, Light Heavyweight Amir Shabazz (1-0) of Philadelphia, Middleweight Godson Noel (1-0, 1 KO) of Newark, and amateur star Jr. Middleweight Antoine Douglas of Virginia.

In attendance will be Former WBO and Olympic gold medalist heavyweight world champion Ray Mercer & former Two-Time IBF cruiserweight world champion Steve “USS” Cunningham.
