Lopes ready for Weeks on Matchroom Fight Pass TV showthis Saturday

Don Charles’ London Cruiserweight hope Jose “The Look” Lopes has his second pro fight when he appears on the Matchroom Fight Pass Internet TV channel this Saturday when he takes on Portsmouth’s John Weeks (2-3).
Charles has high hopes for Lopes “I believe this young man will clean up the Cruiserweight division and will be the next David Haye”. Charles continued “He is still very raw but given time and nurturing he will turn out to be the real deal”.
Lopes takes on Weeks who comes fresh off a win last Friday and feels he has the tools to upset Lopes.
At the press conference Lopes was visibly annoyed at the assertions of Weeks’ trainer Michael Balingall that Weeks would win. “Tell your man I will just use my jab for the first minute and then I will turn it on”.
Watch the video here.  “Is Weeks going to beat Lopes?”
The intriguing Lopes-Weeks battle is part of the 9 fight support to the two southern Area titles Johnny Garton v Adam Battle (Welterweight) and George Jupp v Craig Poxton (Suiper-Featherweight)
The action starts live on Matchroom Fight Pass at 7pm and tickets can be bought from www.goodwinpromotions.co.uk

“WORKING WITH MICHAEL BALINGALL WE ARE GOING TO STAGE SOME BIG EVENTS”

Promoter Steve Goodwin today announced plans to stage some major events on the South Coast over the next 24 months working alongside Michael Ballingall of Bally’s Gym in Portsmouth.

I have had several meetings with Michael over the past few weeks and our aim is to bring massive nights back to Portsmouth even bigger than the Tony Oakey days.

I have recently signed the exciting Floyd Moore managerially and we will be working alongside Michael’s team of fighters. We are looking for other managers and unattached boxers and boxers wanting to turn pro to contact either myself or Michael if they want to be a part of these exciting plans.

Two shows are planned this year on 20th September at the Pyramid Centre(being promoted by Josh Goodwin of Goodwin Sports) and 5th December followed by a big show in March at a bigger venue. We hope to stage 5-6 shows in 2015.

Provided Floyd achieves what we hope he will an open air show is on the cards for 2016 which will be massive for the area.

Goodwin finished by saying “Michael Balingall is a great man to work with and together I think we can rejuvenate south Coast boxing.”
