MIGUEL FLORES REMAINS UNDEFEATED WITH 3RD ROUND KNOCKOUT




December 16, 2013 - This past Saturday night in Cancun Mexico, Golden Boy Promotions super-featherweight prospect, Miguel Flores (13-0, 8 KOs) remained unbeaten with an impressive knockout, destroying Jorge "Escorpión" Rodríguez (15-7-0, 6 KO's) at the Arena Quequi, Playa del Carmen in Quintana Roo, Mexico.

Flores controlled the action from the opening bell, using his jab to set up his combinations. The scheduled 8-round bout ended in the third round when Flores landed a double left hook to the body that sent Rodriguez to the canvas in which he could not continue.  

"I was an honor winning my first fight in Mexico," said Flores. "I was born in Mexico so I wanted to show the fans their that I'm a fighter worthy of their praise. I worked very hard for this fight and the results showed in the fight.  I want to thank Golden Boy Promotions and my management team for keeping me busy." 

"My goal is to capture a regional title in the upcoming year." Flores continued. "I'm learning more about my ability every time I step in the ring.  With each fight I'm getting better and better.  I'm looking forward to a great 2014."

Mario Barrios, San Antonio's Amateur Boxing Standout Drops His Opponent In Sparring

October 2, 2013 - Local San Antonio TX, amateur boxing phenom, Mario Barrios, who stands 6'0 tall and fights at super-bantamweight, has signed an exclusive management deal with Luis Decubas Jr. and Bob Santos.  Barrios joins a highly touted stable of fighters which include six-time and four division world champion, Robert Guerrero, WBA light middleweight champion Erislandy Lara, cruiserweight contender BJ Flores, undefeated heavyweight contender David Rodriguez, rising prospect Miguel Flores and many more. Barrios had over 100 amateur fights winning the National Pals three times and two times runner up at National Silver Gloves.  Barrios plans to be making his pro debut very soon.

"I'm excited about my future," said Barrios. "Decubas and Santos have done a tremendous job with all their fighters and I'm hoping to live up to their standards.  I'm ready to take my God given talents to the professional ranks and show the world what I'm made of."

MIGUEL FLORES 11-0, 6 KO'S SIGNS WITH LUIS DECUBAS JR. AND BOB SANTOS


 

May 17, 2013 - Houston's undefeated featherweight sensation, Miguel "El Michoacano" Flores (11-0, 6 KOs) has signed with world renowned managers, Luis DeCubas Jr. and Bob Santos, who plan to have the 20-year old phenom fighting in the very near future.  The duo has signed Flores with promotional powerhouse Golden Boy Promotions, who will promote Miguel's bouts moving forward.  

Flores, who was born in Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico is excited about his career being guided by two of boxing's brightest young minds.  Fluent in Spanish and English, Flores sees a bright future transpiring. 

"Bob and Luis are great guys with a lot of experience managing fighters at the elite level." said Flores. "I knew right away when I met them that they were the right fit for me.  When they told me Golden Boy was going to be my promoter I was very pleased.  Now that I've signed with DeCubas Jr. and Santos, I feel very confident that my career is going to take off."

"Bob Santos and I feel Flores has all the tools to become a star in this sport.  We have a great relationship with Golden Boy Promotions and felt that was the right fit for Miguel.  Right now the plan is to get him in the ring and move him up the rankings."
