Listen to the Fight News Unlimited Combat Sports Show Tonight Featuring Chris “Gritz” Gruetzemacher

Thursday night's FNU Combat Sports Show featured a rising star in MMA, and the week's boxing and MMA news. Tony The Tornado Penecale, Rabble Rousin' Rich Bergeron, and Psychic Tom Padgett run down the UFC's twin bill last week and the upset of Victor Ortiz by Josesito Lopez.  Click here to listen to the episode. Here's more about our 9:15 PM EST guest:

At ShoFIGHT 20 in Springfield, Missouri, Chris “Gritz” Gruetzemacher (11-1), a one-time Strikeforce fighter, took on UFC veteran Roli Delgado. In the biggest test of his young career, Apex Sports Agency fighter Gruetzemacher dominated, utilizing elbows on the feet and on the mat en route to a 3rd round TKO stoppage.

Regarding his big win, Chris said, “I felt great. I hit a speed bump in the beginning of the first round, but other than that I felt solid.

“It was very much a one-sided [butt]-whoopin.’”

After starting out 1-1 in his career, “Gritz” has now secured ten straight wins, including eight finishes. With such an exemplary record, it can only be a matter of time before an organization like the UFC comes calling. Is “Gritz” ready?

“I do feel that I am ready for the big show. More than anything, I want my opportunity to showcase what I can do, and to have my name in the big lights. I got big goals, and for any of those things to happen, fighting in the UFC is a must.”

Apex Sports Agency has quickly garnered a strong reputation in the MMA world, working with stars on the rise such as UFC fighters Chris Clements, Clifford Starks, Carlo Prater, and Matt Lucas, as well as established fighters like Karo Parisyan, Drew Fickett, Jorge Gurgel, and Zoila Gurgel.
