MARGULES CONGRATULATES PRESCOTT, ACEVEDO AND BARTHELEMY FOR WINNING MIAMI WARFARE

Leon Margules, President of Warriors Boxing, wishes to congratulate his fighters, Colombian bomber Breidis Prescott (26-4, 20 KOs), future Puerto Rican star Roberto Acevedo (6-0, 3 KOs) and Cuban super featherweight sensation Rances "Kid Blast" Barthelemy (17-0, 11 KOs), for their victories Saturday night at the MACC at the Doubletree Hotel in Miami, Florida, and live on Solo Boxeo Tecate.

Never in a bad fight, super lightweight Prescott went to war with Bronx native Francisco "Gato" Figueroa to win by unanimous decision in the night's main event. Prescott dropped Figueroa twice in the first round and looked to be moving in for the finish, but Figueroa fought on gamely and even managed to drop Prescott in the fifth.

In the end, Prescott's heavier punches were the difference by scores of 79-71, 77-73 and 78-71.

"Kid Blast" Barthelemy battered opponent Alejandro "Soma" Rodriguez mercilessly over eight rounds in the televised co-main event. The 26-year-old ripped slashing left hooks throughout the action, dropping Rodriguez in the first and dominating from bell to bell. The impressive performance earned Barthelemy a shutout on all three cards: 80-71.

And on the undercard, middleweight Acevedo stayed undefeated with a unanimous six-round decision over Pensacola, Florida's Donald "DJ" Clark (2-3, 1 KO). Acevedo's power was too much for the game Clark, who wisely chose to stick and move, albeit unsuccessfully, for all six rounds. The scores were 60-54 and 59-55 (twice).

"I congratulate all three guys," said Margules. "Breidis did nothing to affect his reputation as one of the most exciting and powerful fighters in the sport. Rances continued to show the world what a major force he is at 130 lbs by dominating a good opponent. And Roberto continued his climb up the ladder with a solid performance against a foe looking to survive. It was a good night for the Warriors stable."
