Edmonton, Alberta – Aggression Fighting Championships (AFC) and Unified MMA are excited to announce their upcoming joint show, aptly titled “INVASION,” which is set to rock the Shaw Conference Center on Friday, October 12^th, 2012.

“This was an opportunity for both promotions to give back to the amazing set of fans we both have,” stated Sunny Sareen of Unified MMA. “Obviously we have a lot of crossover fans that attend both Unified and Aggression events. A lot of these fans have wondered about some dream matchups between Unified fighters and Aggression fighters…we just decided it made sense to make it happen.”

“Aggression FC has some major stars in the making, with Stephen “Big Bad” Beaumont, KB Bhullar, Mike Newton, Nick Dragich, and Robbie Merrill, along with many of Unified’s current stars, including “Shaolin” Shane Campbell, Tim “Shady” Smith, Merrick Duggan, Ryan Rother, Josh Dugas, Rocky Biggs, and Mike Davis. We, like the fans, wondered how some of these ‘dream’ matchups would play out. At the end of the day, it gives the fight fans what they want to see, which is the most important aspect of this fight card,” mentioned Aggression FC executive Harvey Panesar.

“Sunny has a tremendous ability to sell out his shows to overcapacity. His marketing skills are incredible, and his ability to sell tickets is impeccable.  We knew that joining forces with Unified would absolutely electrify the Shaw Conference Center,” explained Moin Mirza, Aggression FC executive. “Not to mention that we have been working on some very big things…we should have some more pleasant surprises leading up to Oct 12^th.”

Local Edmonton firefighter makes his return to MMA and supports anti-bullying charity with fight proceeds

For Immediate Release – June 6, 2012 – Aggression Fighting Championships (AFC) is only a few days away from rocking the Shaw Conference Center, this Friday June 8^th with its 9^th spectacular card that is being headlined by the company’s vacant Lightweight Title Belt.

Looking to be crowned the new king of the 155-pound division will be the winner of the bout between Edmonton native Stephen “Big Bad” Beaumont, who is undefeated at 5-0, and Red Deer’s Evan Sanguin, who is 7-3.

The semi-main event will feature Tim Chemelli (8-2) versus Simon “The Mutant” Marini (9-3). Also, Tim Chemelli makes his 3^rd straight appearance with AFC looking to stop a resurging Simon Marini, who remarkably debuted at 155 lbs and is now fighting at 205!

In addition, local Edmonton firefighter Mike Newton makes his way back to the sport that he is so passionate about. Mike, who has not fought for the last few years while pursuing a firefighting career with the Edmonton Fire Rescue Service, is ready to make his return by donating his entire purse to the Donnan BJJ Program, which includes a close relationship with the national Anti-Bullying Campaign. AFC will match the purse donated by Mike as the charity is for an incredible cause – to rid schools of bullying.

RYAN FORD PROVES ONCE AGAIN THAT HE’S “THE REAL DEAL” AT AMMA 9

Sold-out event featured all knockouts and submissions

Edmonton, Alberta (Canada): It was a night filled with finishes at Aggression MMA’s fight event in Edmonton this past Saturday, February, 11^th, as the AMMA fighters did what they do best: entertain. Ryan “The Real Deal” Ford (17-4) secured his fifth victory in his last six fights, while Victor “The Matrix” Valimaki (17-8) ended a three-fight skid with his first win since 2009. In addition, top prospects “Big Bad” Stephen Beaumont (5-0), Sheldon Westcott (6-1-1), and Luke Harris (7-1-0-1) all grabbed big submission victories. The standing room-only crowd witnessed incredible fight action, and in the end, it set the tone for a big 2012 for Aggression MMA.

“What an awesome night of fights! From Ryan Ford to Victor Valimaki to Luke Harris…all our guys really laid it on the line for the fans,” said Aggression MMA Co-Owner Harvey Panesar. “The standard has been set for 2012, and we’re going to do everything we can to make sure we raise it at every event.”

“The fight went well,” said Luke Harris. “I planned to stand and bang a bit more, but it’s hard to pass up a submission opportunity when it comes up. Next, I plan to fight again as soon as possible. After that, it’s the BJJ Pan-Ams. I’m planning on a very active year.”

-         Victor Valimaki earned a shot at the Aggression light heavyweight belt with his TKO win.

-         Matt Bagshaw showed his grappling skills with his brutal heel-hook submission of Greg Welsh in the unofficial “Submission of the Night.”

-         After his rear-naked choke submission victory over Nick Heynen, Stephen Beaumont asked Aggression MMA officials for a shot at the AMMA lightweight title. His request was granted.

“We are very proud of our fighters,” stated Aggression MMA Co-Owner Moin Mirza. “Every fight had a decisive finish, and I can’t really think of a better way to send fight fans home happy. If this past weekend’s event was any indication, it’s going to be a big year for Aggression MMA.

“But it’s time for certain Aggression fighters to step up their level of competition. Stephen Beaumont showed he's ready for the next step and I'm hoping other guys will follow suit.”
