New Zealand native Sefo (56-21- 1, 38 KO), fighting out of Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas, rates as one of the premier and most recognizable kick-boxers in the world. A five-time Muay Thai world champion and eight-time K-1 World Grand Prix finalist, Sefo's most prominent kickboxing victims also include Bernardo, Le Banner and Aerts, as well as Bob Sapp and Stephan Leko.

New England Fights! Announces FIGHT NIGHT II in Biddeford, Maine April 14, 2012

Biddeford, ME (February 20, 2012) – On the heels of their wildly successful debut event in Lewiston, Maine, Mixed Martial Arts promotions company New England Fights! (“NEF!”) has announced that its follow up event FIGHT NIGHT II will be held at the Arena in Biddeford, Maine on Saturday, April 14th, 2012.

“I think we turned a lot of heads with FIGHT NIGHT I,” stated NEF! Promoter, Attorney, and Co-Owner Nick DiSalvo. “We put 3,142 people in the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston on February 11.  We shattered the previous attendance record for an MMA event in Maine by over 1,300.  That’s a huge accomplishment for a debut event.  To put that in context, the 1965 World Heavyweight Title rematch between Muhammad Ali and Sonny Liston, in the same building, had an attendance of 2,434.  We put over 700 more people in the Colisee than that fight did.  It just goes to show what we’ve been saying all along – that Maine loves its MMA.”

DiSalvo and his business partner - Matchmaker, Maine State Representative, and Co-Owner of NEF! - Matt Peterson, have planned another stellar card for Biddeford, once again showcasing the talents of Maine’s best MMA competitors.  “The phones have been ringing off the hook from fighters and camps wanting to get on the FIGHT NIGHT II card,” said Peterson.  “We have FIGHT NIGHT I alumni already scheduled to appear on the April 14 Biddeford event.  Maine favorites like John Raio, Jesse Peterson, Ray Wood, Jamie Harrison, Jesse Erickson, and ‘The’ Ryan Sanders have all committed to appear on FIGHT NIGHT II, as well as NEF! newcomer Jarod Lawton.”

Tickets for the April 14 event in Biddeford will be on sale Wednesday, February 22nd at 10:00 a.m.  A link to a ticketing page will be provided at that time on NEF!’s website, Facebook, and Twitter pages.  “Get your tickets early,” warns DiSalvo.  “The Biddeford Arena seats only 1,600.  We had already sold 1,600 tickets to FIGHT NIGHT I more than a month before the event.  In the past week, we’ve received more than 500 calls and emails from fans wanting to order FIGHT NIGHT II tickets early.  We are expecting a sell-out for April 14, and we’re expecting it to happen quickly.  If you’re a fight fan and you want to see the best fighters Maine has to offer, be sure to get your tickets right away on Wednesday.  Cage-side and Premium seats will be very, very limited and will be gone fast.  We’re also expecting big crowds to come in from Massachusetts and New Hampshire as Biddeford, in Southern Maine, is a much shorter trip than Lewiston for out-of-staters.”

Team MVJ's Fighters Prepare for Ring Wars VII "A New Beginning"

 Champions Training Champions

Team MVJ are the elite athletes and fighters of the MVJ Athletics Integrated Training System. Training sessions now include plyometrics in the pool. This workout routine is top notch with explosive, muscle-building exercises - but with reduced wear and tear on your joints. This is due to the fact that the water adds buoyancy to lower the impact of landings, but adds resistance to increase the difficulty jumping. Just ask Zak Kelly who travels 2 hours in order to reap the benefits, or Sean Suvie who raves, "I trained at other places before and I thought I was training and was in great shape. Now I know I wasn't really training and now I am in MVJ shape."

Gary Monroy compares it to another popular program, "I've tried crossfit before, and Crossfit should switch over to MVJ Athletics training!" Team MVJ doesn't let anything interrupt their training. Champions training Champions is the Team MVJ way. Try something new and be pleasantly surprised. Mike Legg  calls MVJ Athletics and Team life-changing.

RYAN FORD PROVES ONCE AGAIN THAT HE’S “THE REAL DEAL” AT AMMA 9

Sold-out event featured all knockouts and submissions

Edmonton, Alberta (Canada): It was a night filled with finishes at Aggression MMA’s fight event in Edmonton this past Saturday, February, 11th, as the AMMA fighters did what they do best: entertain. Ryan “The Real Deal” Ford (17-4) secured his fifth victory in his last six fights, while Victor “The Matrix” Valimaki (17-8) ended a three-fight skid with his first win since 2009. In addition, top prospects “Big Bad” Stephen Beaumont (5-0), Sheldon Westcott (6-1-1), and Luke Harris (7-1-0-1) all grabbed big submission victories. The standing room-only crowd witnessed incredible fight action, and in the end, it set the tone for a big 2012 for Aggression MMA.

“What an awesome night of fights! From Ryan Ford to Victor Valimaki to Luke Harris…all our guys really laid it on the line for the fans,” said Aggression MMA Co-Owner Harvey Panesar. “The standard has been set for 2012, and we’re going to do everything we can to make sure we raise it at every event.”

“The fight went well,” said Luke Harris. “I planned to stand and bang a bit more, but it’s hard to pass up a submission opportunity when it comes up. Next, I plan to fight again as soon as possible. After that, it’s the BJJ Pan-Ams. I’m planning on a very active year.”

Here are some of the highlights of AMMA 9:

-         Victor Valimaki earned a shot at the Aggression light heavyweight belt with his TKO win.
-         Matt Bagshaw showed his grappling skills with his brutal heel-hook submission of Greg Welsh in the unofficial “Submission of the Night.”
-         After his rear-naked choke submission victory over Nick Heynen, Stephen Beaumont asked Aggression MMA officials for a shot at the AMMA lightweight title. His request was granted.

“We are very proud of our fighters,” stated Aggression MMA Co-Owner Moin Mirza. “Every fight had a decisive finish, and I can’t really think of a better way to send fight fans home happy. If this past weekend’s event was any indication, it’s going to be a big year for Aggression MMA.

“But it’s time for certain Aggression fighters to step up their level of competition. Stephen Beaumont showed he's ready for the next step and I'm hoping other guys will follow suit.”

Here are the full results of the night’s fights:
