Former Champ “Chop Chop,” Undefeated "White Lightning" and Son of a Legend Showcased on Nov. 15th Jimmy Lange Boxing Card

DeMarcus Corley, Todd Wilson, and Ronald Hearns vs. Jonathan Reid Featured at Patriot Center

Fairfax, Va. --- Local boxing fans will get their money’s worth at the Jimmy Lange Boxing show coming to the Patriot Center on November 15, 2014.  In addition to the highly-anticipated Main Event rematch between Jimmy Lange and Tony “Mo Better” Jeter and a title bout featuring world champion Tori “Sho Nuff” Nelson of Ashburn, Va., the event will showcase an all-star undercard with a former D.C. world champion, an undefeated local fan favorite and a special attraction bout between the son of a Hall of Famer and a former title contender.

Jimmy Lange Boxing welcomes back one of the region’s all-time greats with DeMarcus “Chop Chop” Corley (44-22-1, 25 KO’s), a D.C. native and former World Boxing Organization (WBO) and United States Boxing Association (USBA) light welterweight champion. With a current World Boxing Council (WBC) lightweight rating of 22, the crafty veteran is back at the top of his game and considered a dangerous lightweight contender. Coming off a dominant unanimous victory over Daniel Attah last month at the Washington Convention Center, Corley is competing on his third Patriot Center show.

Popular undefeated Fairfax, Va. welterweight Todd “White Lightning” Wilson (16-0, 5 KO’s) goes for his 17th victory against a yet to be determined opponent. He has fought five times in front of the hometown Patriot Center crowd, including a win over former world Champion Eric “Mighty Mouse” Aiken in 2011.  An NCBA National Champion and two-time All-American at Virginia Military Institute, Wilson won the United Boxing Federation (UBF) All-American Light Welterweight title with a decision over Marlon Lewis last April.  Wilson, a business development specialist, splits his time fighting out of ABGC Boxing Gym and 9Round, an Arlington, Va. gym he co-owns with Rob Graveline.

Ronald Hearns (26-5, 20 KO’s), son of former world champion and International Boxing Hall of Famer Thomas “Hitman” Hearns, takes on veteran Jonathon “Reid Dawg” Reid (35-15, 2O KO’s), a former Lange opponent and teammate from NBC’s,“The Contender,” in a special attraction bout. Despite a late start in boxing – he began as a 24-year old – Hearns grew up in and around boxing his whole life in Detroit and has developed a more than respectable record, facing world-class competition such as Erislandy Lara and Felix Strum.  The six-foot three Hearns has local ties to Washington, D.C. having earned a degree in criminal justice from American University where he played point guard on the Eagles’ basketball team.

Reid, a Nashville, Tenn. native, is a former middleweight contender who battled D.C.’s own William Joppy for the World Boxing Association (WBA) Middleweight title. He lost the WBC USNBC Light Middleweight Championship to Scott Sigmon in his last bout, held two years in Winchester, Va. This will be his fourth fight at the Patriot Center.

Juan “The Savior” Rodriguez (5-2-1, 4 KO’s) of Haymarket, Va., and Yurii Polischuk (6-1-1, 3 KO’s) of Alexandria, Va., are scheduled to square off in a Northern Virginia welterweight showdown.  It will be the fourth bout at the Patriot Center for Rodriguez, who defeated Damon Antoine in his most recent bout held in 2012. Polischuk, fresh off a unanimous decision victory over Ben Olinga last Saturday night, is making his Patriot Center debut. Coming off a knock out win against Ty Felton on September 27, 2014, rising light welterweight star Seth Billups (4-0, 3 KO’s) of Ashburn, Va. will make his Patriot Center debut (opponent TBA).  Also on the card,Devar Ferhadi, (3-0, 2 KO’s) from Frederick, Md., will take on Jess Noriega (3-11, 3 KO’s) of Lynchburg, Va., in a super middleweight contest.

Doors will open at 6:00 pm, with the first fight scheduled to begin at 7:00 pm. "Lange-Jeter 2: The Rematch" is presented by Jeff Valcourt and Valcourt Building Services.

Tickets, priced at $50, $75, $125, $250 and $500 (plus applicable service charges), can be purchased through all Ticketmaster outlets, including the Patriot Center box office, online at www.ticketmaster.com/ and via Phonecharge at 1-800-745-3000.

Lange vs. Jeter Headlines June 23rd Jimmy Lange Boxing Event at Patriot Center

Tickets Go On Sale at 10am Friday, April 20 at Ticketmaster Outlets

Fairfax, VA (April 18, 2012) -- Jimmy Lange Boxing officials announced today that a 10-Round Middleweight Beltway Battle between Virginia fan favorite Jimmy Lange (38-4-2, 25 KOs) and popular Maryland fighter Tony “Mo Better” Jeter (13-3-1, 9 KOs) will headline its next card on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at the Patriot Center. Tickets, starting at $35 and available through all Ticketmaster Outlets including the Patriot Center box office, go on sale this Friday, April 20 at 10:00 am. The event is presented by Valcourt Building Services.

Considered one of the top showcases of its kind in the country, the event will feature an all-star undercard led by World Boxing Council (WBC) and Women’s International Boxing Association (WIBA) female middleweight champion Tori “Sho Nuff” Nelson (6-0-1) of Ashburn, VA, undefeated junior welterweight Todd “White Lightning” Wilson (13-0, 3 KOs) of Fairfax, VA, and rising unbeaten heavyweight Duane Mobley (1-0) of Upper Marlboro, MD. Highly regarded teenage welterweight prospect Dusty Harrison (5-0, 2 KOs) of Washington, DC will make his Patriot Center debut on the card. The high school senior will be eligible for a Virginia boxing license on May 21 when he turns 18. Fighters’ opponents are to be determined.

This will be Lange’s first bout against a local boxer at the Patriot Center since defeating Perry Ballard on September 17, 2005. The former season one star from The Contender television series has headlined all 14 previous Patriot Center cards, compiling an 11-2-1 record. He’s on a seven-bout winning streak, having captured the World Boxing Union (WBU) Junior Middleweight and the World Boxing Council (WBC) NABA USA Light Middleweight belts along the way. In his last fight held February 11, 2012 in Fairfax, Lange scored a unanimous 12-round decision over Ruben Galvan.

Jeter is known for his punching prowess, which was on display during his Patriot Center debut on September 26, 2009, when he dropped Keith Gross with a devastating right that earned “KO of the Year” honors fromBoxing Along the Beltway. The Stevensville, MD boxer went 9-0-1 following a two-and-a-half year hiatus from the sport before being upset by Jose Felix last December. Jeter avenged his loss to Felix two months later capturing the eight-round rematch and the Universal Boxing Organization (UBO) All-America and United States Boxing Union (USBU) Middleweight belts.
