Conquest, Sparrow & Wright post wins at TuesdayNight Fights in Philadelphia

 
 


Philadelphia (September 16, 2014)-It was yet another great evening of boxing as Joe Hand Promotions & D and D Management staged the 2nd installment of TuesdayNight Fights at a near capacity crowd at the 2300 in South Philadelphia.

The series which is designed to showcase young up and coming talent from both the professional and amateur ranks in the Philadelphia region delivered excitement for the 2nd consecutive show.

In the final professional bout, Donte Wright made a successful pro debut by winning a hard fought and grueling 4-round majority decision over Lionel Charles of New York.  Scores were 39-37 twice and 38-38

In the middle bout, Avery Sparrow (2-0, 1 KO) scored an explosive 1st round stoppage over Hassan Wasswau of New York in a scheduled 4-round Jr. Lightweight bout.  

Sparrow landed a crushing right hand that sent Waswau plummeting to the canvas very hard.  The back of Wasswau's head bounced off the canvas several times and he was knocked cold at 2:22 of the opening frame.  Waswau had to be laid out on a stretcher.

In the opening professional bout, Jr. Welterweight Jerome Conquest out hustled Sidney McCrow of New York to win a 4-round  unanimous decision in a battle of pro debuters.

Scores were 40-36 and 39-37 on two cards for the native Philadelphian Conquest.

In the amateur portion of the card, Jackie McTamney of Joe Hand Gym defeated Diana Cute in a women's 125 lb bout.

Mark Dawson of D-Boys Boxing defeated Douglas Northern in a 141 lb. bout.

Brandon Pizaro defeated Kashad Elliot in a 125 lb. bout.

Dylan Price of D-Boys Boxing beat Dallas Holder in a 112 lb. bout.

Christian Carto got by Eric Gordon in a 110 lb. bout.

The next card of Tuesday Night Fights will take place on November 25 at the 2300 Arena.

2nd Installment of Tuesday Night Fights to take place on September 16 at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia

 

Philadelphia (August 22, 2014)--After successful inaugural show, Tuesday Night Fights is back for the 2nd installment on Tuesday, September 16 at the 2300 Arena in South Philadelphia.

The show, which is promoted by Joe Hand Promotions and D and D Management is a pro-am show that will feature some of the best talent in the Philadelphia region.  

Headlining the professional portion of the card will be undefeated Super Middleweight Derrick Webster battling Taneal Goyco in a bout scheduled for 6-rounds.

Webster of Glassboro, New Jersey has a record of 17-0 with 8 knockouts and is one of the top prospects in the area.

He has campaigned between Middleweight and Light Heavyweight but has settled in at Super Middleweight.  

He has solid wins over Romaro Johnson, veterans Darnell Boone, Lester Gonzalez and his last bout when he won a 6-round unanimous decision over Michael Gbenga onMay 30 in Philadelphia.

To say Goyco has been matched tough is an understatement.  in his 14 pro fights (6-7-1, 3 KO's) he has taken on 8 fighters that were undefeated at the time.  He has wins over Dennis Morris (1-0); Frankie Filippone (14-2-1) and Jeremy Trussell (8-0).  In his last bout the native of Philadelphia was stopped by John Magda (6-0) in four rounds on June 27 in Las Vegas.

Fresh off his exciting pro debut in the first Tuesday Night Fight's card, Avery Sparrow (1-0) of Philadelphia will square off with Pedro Andres (1-3, 1 KO) of Bridgeton, NJ in a four round Featherweight bout.

Dante Wright of Philadelphia will make his pro debut against Lionel Charles (0-3) of New York in a four round Jr. Middleweight bout.

Wright was a 4-time Philadelphia District Golden Gloves and National PAL Tournament champion.

Jerome Conquest of Philadelphia will make his pro debut against William Harris(0-3) of Darby, PA in a Jr. Welterweight contest.

There will be 7-amateur bouts that will be a prelude to the professional card that will be headlined by national Golden Gloves champion Christian Carto and Eric Gordon in a 3-round bout in the 110-pound weight division.

D & D MANAGEMENT HAS STRONG 2013; LOOKS FOR HUGE 2014



Doc Nowicki and David Price of D and D Management Team LLC located in Philadelphia Pa celebrate another year of success in the sport of boxing by winning their 2nd consecutive Philadelphia Managers of the Year Award.    

In 2013 the stable of fighters currently under the banner of D and D Management Team went an astounding 29 wins, 1 no contest, 1 draw with only 2 losses (both of which occurred in world championship bouts).    

Alfred "Doc" Nowicki said "I have been managing fighters for the past 20 years and I have never been so excited about the level of skill and will possessed by our young fighters. All of our prospects are under 25 years of age and we have been carefully grooming them for the past 2 years. I can guarantee that in 2014 the world will take notice of our D-Boys". 

   
January 10th; 4-0, 1ko Jr. Welterweight amateur sensation Damon "Baby Dame" Allen leads the way in Philadelphia, Pa at the Iron Workers Union Hall on Delaware Ave.

January 24th; 4-0-1, Heavyweight Mark "Too Sharp" Rideout and 11-2, hard punching Middleweight Decarlo "3mendo" Perez at the Resorts Casino in Atlantic City New Jersey .

January 25th; 11-0, 10kos Super Middleweight Jesse "Hard Work" Hart who was nominated for KO of the year continues at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

January 31st; 10-0, 1ko Lightweight Naim "The Dream" Nelson resumes action at Harrah's Casino Philadelphia.  

February 14th; 17-1, 12kos Jr. Welterweight contender Emanuel "Tranzforma" Taylor who is currently ranked #4 in the world by the IBF will take center stage on ESPN'S Friday Night Fights in Huntington New York.

Dave Price stated "We had a busy 2013 posting an excellent record in the ring and working even harder outside of the ring. We are in the final stages of completing a documentary on Philadelphia Gold medalist Tyrell Biggs as well as 2 reality shows on our professional and sponsored amateur fighters. It's been hard but I'm really proud of our team's accomplishments in 2013 but I look forward to even greater challenges in the coming year. We are also looking for 2 possibly 3 more super talented fighters that might be added to the D and D stable in 2014".
