Felix Verdejo makes his Philly Debut Dec. 13 at the 2300 Arena

Philadelphia, PA—Sensational lightweight Felix Verdejo, the latest in a long line of outstanding Puerto Rican boxers, makes his Philadelphia debut Saturday evening, Dec. 13, when he takes on Karim El Ouazghari, of Barcelona, Spain, in the scheduled eight-round main event at the 2300 Arena.
 
      The Verdejo-Ouazghari fight, along with an eight-round super middleweight contest featuring Jesse Hart, of Philadelphia, will be televised as part of Top Rank’s Solo BoxeoTecate series on UniMas.  The delayed telecast will begin at 11pm (EST).  First of seven prelims begins at 6.45pm.
 
     The 21-year-old Verdejo (left), an outstanding amateur, represented Puerto Rico in the 2012 Olympics.  He lost a 14-9 decision in the quarter-finals to eventual Gold Medalist Vasyl Lomachenko, of the Ukraine, who currently is the WBO featherweight champion.  Verdejo’s overall amateur record was 106-17.
 
     Verdejo turned pro late in 2012 and is 15-0, 11 K0s.  He boxed eight times in 2013 and this will be his seventh fight in 2014.
 
     In his last outing Oct. 4, Verdejo scored a spectacular one-punch third-round knockout over 32-fight veteran Sergio Villanueva, of Mexico, in front of a standing-room-only crowd at the Bahia Shrine Temple in Orlando, FL.
 
     Verdejo turned pro in Las Vegas and he has boxed in Puerto Rico, New York, Florida and China.  This will be his first fight in Philadelphia, but his second in Pennsylvania.  He won a six-round decision over Guillermo Delgadillo, of Walla Walla, WA, on Aug. 10, 2013, at the Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem.
 
     “I want to be a role model for the kids, the same way Felix Trinidad was for me,” Verdejo said. 
     The 34-year-old Ouazghari is 16-5-2, 4 K0s.  In his most ambitious start, he lost a 12-round decision to John Murray for the European lightweight title in London. 
     
The 25-year-old Hart is 15-0, 12 K0s.   His father, Eugene “Cyclone” Hart, was one of the hardest-hitting middleweights of his time, compiling a 30-9-1 record with 28 K0s from 1969 to1981.

CHESTER, PA (September 11, 2012)—This Friday night, five fighters who fight under the D and D Management banner will be in action at Harrahs Chester where Joey Eye Boxing Promotions and David Feldman will present a championship night of boxing.

Naim Nelson, Jesse Hart, Todd Unthank-May, Emanuel Taylor and Mark Rideout will put their talents on display under the watchful eye of managers Doc Nowicki and Dave Price.

Nelson (7-0, 1 KO) takes on Victor Vasquez (15-6-1, 7 KO’s) in the ten round main event which will be for the Pennsylvania State Lightweight championship in a bout scheduled for ten rounds.

U.S. Olympic Trials winner Jesse Hart (2-0, 2 KO’s) takes on Lekan Byfield (2-1-1) in a four round Super Middleweight bout.

Unthank-May (4-0, 2 KO’s) will step up the competition when he battles Teneal Goyco (4-3-1, 2 KO’s) in a scheduled four round Light Heavyweight bout.

Taylor (14-1, 10 KO’s) will take part in a six round Jr. Welterweight bout when he takes on battle tested veteran Humberto Toledo (41-8-2, 25 KO’s)

Rideout (1-0) will battle Lonnie Kornegay (1-6-2) in a four round Heavyweight affair.

Alfred “Doc” Nowicki a successful businessman born and raised in Philadelphia has always had a love for the sport of boxing. Doc says “I love boxing and I love helping people so managing boxers allows me to be involved with both”. Doc began managing fighters over 15 years ago and has been associated with several top contenders. In 2005 Doc was introduced to Welterweight contender Mike Jones and Bantamweight Teon Kennedy. Doc carefully managed their careers allowing both fighters to fight for world championships in June of 2012. While both fighters fell short of reaching their goals, they are currently in position to earn larger paydays and to compete once again at the highest level of boxing.

Dave “Pastor Dave” Price has been an entrepreneur for the past 22 years and a Senior Pastor the last 3 years. At the age of 8 he watched the movie Rocky and has been hooked on boxing ever since. He had a brief amateur and professional career but really blossomed when teaching others. As a coach of a local gym in Philadelphia he traveled to several national tournaments, meeting talented boxers in need of representation. Dave has been involved with managing boxers for over 3 years and says “I have always loved the sport of boxing and I am so glad that I am able to help others reach their full potential”.

The fight was competitive throughout as Majewski was especially effective with the right hand.  Fitzpatrick suffered a nasty cut in the second round over his left eye.  Despite the large blood flow, Fitzpatrick showed no signs of discomfort and fought valiantly through the stream of blood running down his face.  The cut, which was deep, did not bleed much in round five but the fight was stopped much to the dismay of Fitzpatrick and his team after the frame.

With the win, Majewski raises his mark to 19-1 with thirteen knockouts.  Fitzpatrick is 15-2.

Undefeated Light Heavyweight Lavarn “Baby Bowe” Harvell scored two knockdowns before stopping Mojeed Okedara in the first round of their six round Light Heavyweight bout.

It was the fourth straight knockout for Harvell (12-0, 7 KO’s) of Atlantic City.  Okdedara of Nigeria was making his American debut is now 9-6.

2012 U.S. Olympian Jesse “Hard Work” Hart made it two straight first round stoppages as he used a vicious body assault to put out Steven Chadwick (0-4) at 2:38 of their Middleweight bout

Naim Nelson remained perfect as he scored a tough unanimous decision over Esteban Rodriguez in a Jr. Welterweight bout. 

Nelson (7-0) of Philadelphia won by scores of 60-54, 59-55 & 59-55. Rodriguez is 5-2-1.

Dan Biddle won a six round majority decision over Pedro Martinez in a Heavyweight bout.

Biddle (9-2) of Wilmington, Delaware won by scores of 58-56, 58-56 and 57-57.  Martinez of Philadelphia is evened up at 6-6.

Raphael Luna (4-5-2) of Albany, New York and Osnel Charles (9-3-1) of Atlantic City fought to a spirited draw in a six round Welterweight bout.  Scores were 58-56 each way and 57-57.

Mark Rideout made a successful pro debut by earning a hard fought four round unanimous decision over hard charging Randy Easton in a Heavyweight bout.

In the opening bout of the evening, Anthony Prescott scored a scary second round knockout over DeAndre Phillips in a battle of pro debuting Welterweight.

Prescott landed a thumping right to the head that sent Phillips down and out for about seven minutes.  Phillips, with help from paramedics was able to walk out under his own power.

Majewski of Radom, Poland and now resides in Atlantic City has a record of 18-1 with twelve knockouts, won his first seventeen bouts which included wins over Jimmy Lubash (13-1), Latif Mundy (8-0), Joseph Gomez (17-2-1). He won the WBO NABO Middleweight title with a ten round unanimous decision over Marcus Upshaw. In his next bout he was upset when he was stopped in the sixth round against Miguel Torres.

Majewski got back to his winning ways on April 7^th when he stopped former three-time world title challenger Antwun Echols in three rounds.

Fitzpatrick of Cleveland, Ohio has had a similar rise as Majewski as he won his first fourteen bouts that included win over Anthony Pietrantonio (5-0); Richard Gibson (4-1) and Scott Sigmon (16-2). He suffered his only loss when he dropped a unanimous decision to upset specialist Jose Medina.

In his last bout, Fitzpatrick scored sixth round stoppage over Ken Dunham on February 4^th.
