ROYALE RUMBLE
Nov. 23, 2013 ● The Royale Nightclub Boston ● Boston,Mass.

RESULTS FROM BOSTON
BOSTON (Nov. 23, 2013) - Big Six Entertainment closed its 2013 season on a strong note, featuring its best top-to-bottom card of the year, tonight at The Royale Nightclub Boston (formerly The Roxy).

In the main event on "Royale Rumble," presented by Big Six Entertainment in association with Danny Kelly Promotions, "Irish" Joey McCreedy (17-6-2, 6 KOs) won a unanimous six-round decision over Steven "Too Sharpshooter" Tyner (3-13-2, 2 KOs)

McCreedy, fighting out of the same hometown as "Irish" Micky Ward (Lowell, Mass.) and his trainer Dicky Eklund, plans to fight as a super middleweight in 2014.

Irag War veteran Chris Traietti (14-3, 10 KOs), fighting out of nearby Quincy, decked Randy "The Rattler" Campbell (3-10, 2 KOs) in the second round.  Campbell's corner stopped the fight when the Ohio fighter was unable to continue after three rounds.  Traietti, who notched his fifth straight victory, defeated Campbell 2 ½ years ago by way of a six-round majority decision.

Lawrence (MA) heavyweight prospect Alexis Santos (12-0, 10 KOs) fought six rounds for the first time in his professional career, winning a unanimous decision over veteran Kevin Franklin (4-8, 1 KO). Santos had stopped his previous eight opponents. The game Franklin has been stopped only once, by undefeated contender Bryant Jennings.

Brockton welterweight (MA) Antonio Chaves Fernandez (4-13-2) upset Stoneham (MA)  Greg Vendetti (4-1-1, 2 KOs) by way of a majority six-round decision in a rematch of their four-round draw this past July at the same venue.

In a battle of former world title challengers, Marshfield (MA) junior middleweight Aleksandra Magdziak Lopes (10-2-1, 1 KO) and "Notorious" Nicole Woods (11-2-3, 3 KOs) fought to a six-round majority draw.

Lynn (MA) welterweight "Speedy" Rashidi Ellis (3-0, 2 KOs), a 2012 National PAL champion, outclassed Oscar Diaz, of Hartford, en route to an impressive win by first-round technical knockout.  Ellis dropped Diaz four times, the last resulting in the referee halting the fight.

McCreedy & Traietti fighting on 'Royale Rumble' In potential prelude to rematch

November 23 at The Royale Nightclub Boston

PROVIDENCE (Nov. 14, 2013) - Two of New England's best and most popular boxers, "Irish" Joey McCreedy and Chris Traietti, will be fighting in the main event and co-feature, respectively, on the "Royale Rumble" card, presented by Big Six Entertainment, November 23 on a special Saturday afternoon card (5 p.m. ET start) at The Royale Nightclub Boston (formerly The Roxy).

McCreedy won a six-round split decision over Traietti back on January 1, 2008 at Foxwoods Resort Casino.  Their separate Nov. 23rd fights may serve as a prelude to a possible rematch in 2014, although both fighters soon plan to move down in weight classes, McCreedy to super middleweight and Traietti to light heavyweight.  They could, however, agree to meet at an agreeable catch-weight in what would be a major New England showdown.

McCreedy (14-6-2, 6 KOs), fighting out of the same hometown as "Irish" Micky Ward (Lowell, Mass.) and his trainer Dicky Eklund, takes on Nigerian light heavyweight Dennis Ogboo (7-7, 6 KOs) in the six-round headliner

Irag War veteran Traietti (14-3, 10 KOs), fighting out of nearby Quincy, meets Randy "The Rattler" Campbell (3-10, 2 KOs), in the eight-round co-feature.  Traietti defeated Campbell 2 ½ years ago by way of a six-round majority decision.

Undefeated Lawrence (MA) heavyweight prospect Alexis Santos (11-0, 10 KOs) faces veteran Kevin Franklin (4-7, 1 KO) in a six-fight, while Lynn (MA) welterweight "Speedy" Rashidi Ellis (2-0, 1 KO) squares off with Oscar Diaz (0-2) in a four-rounder.

Also fighting in a rematch is Stoneham (MA) welterweight Greg Vendetti (4-0-1, 2 KOs) and Brockton's (MA) Antonio Chaves Fernandez (3-13-2) in a six-round rematch.  They fought to a four-round draw this past July at the same venue.

Marshfield (MA) junior middleweight Aleksandra Magdziak Lopes (10-2, 1 KO) takes on "Notorious" Nicole Woods (11-2-2, 3 KOs) in a six-round battle of former world title challengers.

All fighters are subject to change.

Tickets, reasonably priced at $40.00, $50.00 and $75.00, are available to purchase by calling 1.617.312.5059.

Doors open at 4:00 p.m. ET with the first bout scheduled for 5:00 p.m. ET.

'Irish' Joey McCreedy fighting for Breast Cancer Awareness on 'Royale Rumble' November 23 at The Royale Nightclub Boston

Big 6 logo
Presents
ROYALE RUMBLE
Nov. 23, 2013 ● The Royale Nightclub Boston ● Boston,Mass.

For Immediate Release

Trainer Dicky Eklund (L) and "Irish" Joey McCreedy

PROVIDENCE (Nov. 7, 2013) - Popular New England fighter "Irish" Joey McCreedy will be fighting for Breast Cancer Awareness in the main event on "Royale Rumble," presented by Big Six Entertainment, November 23 on a special Saturday afternoon card (5 p.m. ET start) at The Royale Nightclub Boston (formerly The Roxy).

McCreedy (14-6-2, 6 KOs), fighting out of the same hometown as "Irish" Micky Ward (Lowell, Mass.), is trained by Ward's brother, Dicky Eklund.  His opponent in the six-round bout is Nigerian light heavyweight Dennis Ogboo (7-7, 6 KOs), who lives in Lexington, Kentucky.

McCreedy has dedicated his Nov. 23rd fight to Dianne Levasseur, the mother of his close friend, who passed away last year with breast cancer.  The 28-year-old McCreedy will wear pink ribbons on his shorts.

"I was supposed to fight last month (Breast Cancer Awareness Month) in Rhode Island," McCreedy explained, "but that fight was canceled so I'm dedicating this fight to Dianne. I want women with breast cancer to know they're not fighting alone.  We may fight in the ring, but these women are the real warriors.  They're fighting for their lives.  They aren't alone in their fight to survive; we have their backs.  Cancer effects everybody - friends and family - and I just want breast cancer victims to know we care."

McCreedy hasn't fought since this past St. Patrick's Day, when he won a unanimous eight-round decision over Michael Walchuk.   He claims this will be his last fight as a light heavyweight.

"After this fight I want to tackle the top super middleweights," McCreedy said.  "I've been known to party after a fight and put on weight.  I'm getting a little older and I'm already on weight.  I has my fight canceled last month but stayed focused and in the gym. I ran a lot and the weight came off easier since I rededicated myself to training. I'm already on weight.  I'm a free promotional free agent and Jerry Simpson is my new manager.  I want to stay active."

In the eight-round co-feature, Irag War veteran Chris Traietti (14-3, 10 KOs), fighting out of nearby Quincy, meets Randy "The Rattler" Campbell (3-10, 2 KOs), of Charleston (WV) in a rematch of a fight 2 ½ years ago, in which Traietti won a six-round majority decision.

Undefeated Lawrence heavyweight Alexis Santos (11-0, 10 KOs) puts his perfect record on the line against Ohioan veteran Kevin Franklin (4-7, 1 KO) in a six-rounder. Lynn welterweight "Speedy" Rashidi Ellis (2-0, 1 KO) faces Hartford's (CT) Oscar Diaz (0-2) in a four-round fight.

Also fighting on the card is Stoneham (MA) welterweight Greg Vendetti (4-0-1, 2 KOs) and Brockton's (MA) Antonio Chaves Fernandez (3-13-2) in a six-round rematch.  They fought to a four-round draw this past July at the same venue.

Marshfield (MA) junior middleweight Aleksandra Magdziak Lopes (10-2, 1 KO) and "Notorious" Nicole Woods (11-2-2, 3 KOs), from Stone Mountain, Georgia, will meet in a battle of former world title challengers in a six-round bout.

All fighters are subject to change.

Tickets, reasonably priced at $40.00, $50.00 and $75.00, are available to purchase by calling 1.617.312.5059.

Nov. 23 at The Royale Nightclub Boston
PROVIDENCE (October 31, 2013) - Many of New England's best and most popular fighters will be in action November 23 as Big Six Entertainment presents, "Royale Rumble,' on a special Saturday afternoon card  (special 5 p.m. ET start) at The Royale Nightclub Boston (formerly The Roxy).

"Big Six Entertainment will be closing out a very successful 2013 with our best top-to-bottom card of the year," Big Six Entertainment president Artie DePinho said. "We're also thrilled to be returning to our Boston home at The Royale Nightclub. Popular veterans, promising prospects and everything in between will be showcased in front of the great Boston fight fans."

The six-round main event features one of the most popular fighters in New England, Lowell (MA) light heavyweight "Irish" Joey McCreedy (14-6-2, 6 KOs), against Nigeria-native Dennis Ogboo (7-7, 6 KOs), who fights out of Lexington, Kentucky.

Irag War veteran Chris Traietti (14-3, 10 KOs), fighting out of nearby Quincy, returns to The Royal Nightclub Boston in the eight-round co-feature against dangerous Adam "The Atom Bomb" Collins (11-9, 8 KOs), of Ironton, Ohio, for the vacant Universal Boxing Federation (UBF) Northeast cruiserweight title.

A pair of red-hot prospects from the Bay State, undefeated Lawrence heavyweight Alexis Santos (11-0, 10 KOs) and Lynn welterweight "Speedy" Rashidi Ellis (2-0, 1 KO), provide chief undercard support.  Santos will fight an opponent to be determined in a six-round bout, while Ellis takes on Hartford's (CT) Oscar Diaz (0-2) in a four-rounder.

Also fighting on the card is Stoneham (MA) welterweight Greg Vendetti (4-0-1, 2 KOs) and Brockton's (MA) Antonio Chaves Fernandez (3-13-2) in a six-round rematch.  They fought to a contested four-round draw this past July at the same venue.

Former world title challengers, Aleksandra Magdziak Lopes (10-2, 1 KO) and "Notorious" Nicole Woods (11-2-2, 3 KOs), from Stone Mountain, Georgia, will square-off in a six-round fight in the welterweight division.  Lopes is a fan favorite from Marshfield (MA) by way of Poland.

Hartford super featherweight Joseph "Chip" Perez (10-3, 3 KOs) is also slated to fight in a six-round bout versus an opponent to be determined.

RESULTS FROM LOWELL, MA: McCreedy defeats Walchuk Adama decisions Brewer

CFC logo
CFC FIGHT NIGHT
Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell ● Lowell, MA ● March 16, 2013

LOWELL, Mass. (March 16, 2013) - Hometown favorite "Irish" Joey McCreedy   celebrated St. Patrick's Day in style, winning an eight-round majority decision over Canadian-invader Michael "Flash" Walchuk in tonight's "CFC Fight Night" main event, presented by Chicago Fight Clubs Promotions, at Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell.

McCreedy (14-6-2, 6 KOs), who picked-up the vacant UBF US-Northeast light heavyweight title, hurt Walchuk (9-9, 2 KOs) in the opening round with a powerful overhand right, but McCreedy suffered a cut over his right eye in the second, and worked his way through the remainder of the fight for a hard-earned victory.

McCreedy captured the vacant UBF US-Northeast light heavyweight title.

"This was a 360-degree turn from my last fight in Lowell," McCreedy said after the fight. "I credit my training camp, my head trainer Dicky Eklund, strength coach...my whole team, including my promoter, manager, dad, mom and girlfriend.

"I thought I had him out in the first round. I hurt him but loaded up with right hands after that for a few rounds. Dicky settled me down, though, and I started throwing combinations."

World title challenger Osumanu Adama (21-3, 15 KOs) won a 10-round split decision (97-93, 96-94, 94-96) over veteran Grady "Bad Boy" Brewer (30-15, 16 KOs). Because Adama weighed in one-half pound over the limit, he was ineligible to win the WBC Continental Americas, IBO Intercontinental and UBF Inter-Continental middleweight championships. Adama is rated No. 11 by the International Boxing Federation (IBF).

Former world champion "Vicious" Vivian Harris (30-9-2, 19 KOs) snapped an eight-fight unbeaten streak (0-6-1, 1 NC), dating back to 2008, with an eight-round decision over Shakha Moore (11-19-3, 2 KOs).

A knockdown in the final round was the difference as Maine middleweight Russell Lamour (3-0, 1 KO), who overcame a trip to the canvas in the fourth round, kept his undefeated record intact with a close but unanimous six-round decision over Eddie "Thunder" Caminero (7-8, 7 KOs).

Iraq War veteran, cruiserweight Chris Traietti (11-3, 7 KOs), floored Tyler Seever (13-13-1, 11 KOs) twice in the fifth round, finishing him off in the sixth with two more knockdowns, before the fight was stopped by referee Paul Casey.

Chicago heavyweight Boban Simic (2-0, 2 KOs) dropped Boston's pro-debuting Tyler King twice with powerful left hooks prior to referee Eddie Claudio halting the action with nine-seconds remaining in the second round.

New Haven bantamweight Josh Crespo (1-1-1, 1 KO) won his first professional fight when Lowell's pro-debuting Mike Martin failed to answer the bell for the third round.

Crossroads fight for Lowell favorite 'Irish' Joey McCreedy Adama vs. Brewer in co-feature

CFC logo
CFC FIGHT NIGHT
"Irish" Joey McCreedy
Osumanu Adama vs. Grady Brewer
Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell ● Lowell, MA ● March 16, 2013

March 16 at Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell
LOWELL, Mass. (March 7, 2013) - Local favorite "Irish" Joey McCreedy has overcome a double fracture of his jaw. For years, he's fought in the boxing shadows of Lowell fighting icons, "Irish" Micky Ward and Dicky Eklund, but now, perhaps, he faces his toughest challenge in a crossroads fight March 16 at Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell.

"CFC Fight Night" is presented by Chicago Fight Clubs Promotion. Doors open at 7 p.m. ET, first bout scheduled for 8:00 p.m. ET.

McCreedy (13-6-2, 6 KOs), who is trained by Eklund, takes on Canadian-invader Michael "Flash" Walchuk (9-8, 2 KOs) in the eight-round main event for the vacant Universal Boxing Federation (UBF) US-Northeast light heavyweight title.

Amin for the vacant United States Boxing Organization super middleweight crown. The pressure is on McCreedy because he lost his last fight, also in Lowell, this past May to Shujaa El

"This fight is so important to me because, after my last fight, if I lose my career is done," McCreedy explained. "I want it bad and everything's on the line for me. I've been working hard, practically killing myself, for the past 10 weeks in camp. I don't want to look back and wonder what if, or what could have been. I've never wanted anything as bad as this fight. Weight has been a problem for me but this fight is at 175 pounds and I didn't balloon in weight after my last fight. I'm on weight now and in great shape. I'm really focused on this fight.

"Nothing could have gone worse in my last fight. We had a bad training camp without sparring and I had to lose too much weight. Anything that could go bad did go bad. I was disappointed but can't go back and change it. There's nothing worse than losing your hometown. I really wanted to win that fight but everything happens for a reason. That's why I've worked so hard for this fight; I'm ready to rock and roll. I'm going to show everybody that I still have it. Some people look at me as a loser, that I'm washed up, all done. I'm going to show them all that they're wrong. I've been working with Dicky and sparred four weeks, eight to 10 rounds every other day with Peter Manfredo, Jr., who was working for a fight coming up. Peter taught me a lot and I'm not fighting anybody as tough as Manfredo"

Walchuk is a past Canadian middleweight title challenger who has been in against Eleider Alvarez, Nick Brinson and Vladine Biosse. "I saw him (Walchuk) fight Biosse and (Thomas) Falowo," McCreedy added. "He's a tough kid who comes forward and fights. I'm not judging anybody, I learned that lesson the hard way. I'll be ready. I know that I can't lose this fight."
