"During the past two years of operations," Big Six Entertainment president Artie DePinho said, "Big Six Entertainment established itself as one of the leading boxing promotions companies in New England.  We brought competitive, entertaining clubs shows back to New England.  Young professional boxers have an opportunity to fight and develop, veterans are able to stay active without signing restrictive promotional contracts, and local boxing fans get to follow their favorite fighters on a regular basis.

"We're grateful for having two great homes in Massachusetts: Club Royale in Boston's popular downtown theater district and outdoors under a large tent, located halfway between two boxing hot-beds like Boston and Providence, at the Irish Cultural Centre.  Our attendance increased show-by-show and we are confident that trend will continue in 2014.  Young and old alike seem to appreciate our early start times at both venues.

"In our first event of the year (Mar. 15), we will be capitalizing on St. Patrick's Day weekend.  The main event will showcase a 10-round bout for an Irish junior middleweight title when Lee Murtagh squares off against Michael McLaughlin.  Big Six Entertainment would like to thank the Massachusetts Athletic Commission for its cooperation, professionalism and our licensing approval.  We are also in discussions to promote shows at other venues throughout New England to expand our fan-base for continued growth in 2014."

Cohen Knows WBA #10 Heavyweight Kauffman Must Stay Focused on Saturday's Fight

Travis Kauffman Banner

Greg Cohen of Greg Cohen Promotions knows his fighter, Travis Kauffman, must stay focused tomorrow night, when the WBA #10 heavyweight steps in the ring against late sub Jason Barnett of Clearwater, Florida, at the Santander Arena in Reading, Pennsylvania.

Kauffman (26-1, 19 KOs) will face Barnett for the WBU Intercontinental Championship in the eight-round main event of a card entitled "Let's Get Reading to Rumble" and presented by King's Promotions.

"Travis is in line for some big fights, so it's very important he not look past this opponent, who has scored some upset wins in the past and always comes to fight," said Cohen. "These are often the most dangerous fights a fighter can take because it's so easy to have one eye on the future and not on the fight."

Kauffman has some serious momentum going, winning eight consecutive fights. This will be his third in just over three months. He was originally scheduled to take on capable veteran Manuel Quezada, but paperwork difficulties nixed the fight on short notice.

"The recipe is certainly there for an upset, but Travis is a solid professional who has been brought along perfectly. I know he will go in and get the job done and then the future is extremely bright for him. He's a very talented American heavyweight with everything it takes to be a star. I will be happy when the fight is over and we can begin to focus on a career-defining fight for him."

KAUFFMAN NOT LOOKING PAST BARNETT

PRESS CONFERENCE AND WEIGH IN TONIGHT AT 5PM AT CROWNE PLAZA IN WYOMISSING

READING, PA (NOVEMBER 29, 2013)--When it was announced that Heavyweight Manuel Quezada would not be able to fight WBA number-10 ranked Heavyweight Travis Kauffman this Saturday night at the Santander Arena, calls were made to almost every credible Heavyweight that was available.

The only guy to step up to the plate was Jason Barnett of Clearwater, Florida.

The bout is for the WBU Intercontinental championship.

Despite having a .500 record of 14-14, Kauffman and his team know that Barnett is dangerous for a couple of very legitimate reasons.

Barnett is more than capable as he has knockout  wins over John Poore (21-3) and Eric Leander (8-0).  Barnett is also a confident as he has won two in a row with wins over Willie Chisolm and Terrance Marbra (6-2).

“We called so many people and Barnett took the fight like he knew something”, said Kauffman’s father Marshall Kauffman.

“Travis is so close to being where he wants to be and is so close to a major fight.  Barnett is coming in here to become a somebody and Travis needs to be as focused as he ever as to win this fight.”

TRAVIS KAUFFMAN HAS EYE ON THE PRIZE BUT FOCUSED ON QUEZADA FOR NOVEMBER 30TH

READING, PA (November 20, 2013)—On Saturday night November 30that the Santander Arena in Reading, PA, WBA Number 10 ranked Travis Kauffman will take on Manuel Quezada in a ten round bout for the WBU Intercontinental championship.

That will be one of two title fights that night, which is promoted by Kings Promotions.

Kauffman, 26-1 with 19 knockouts has a lot on the line that night, as not only will he fighting in front of his hometown fans but he knows he just a couple of fights away from a major fight.

This will be Kauffman’s 3rd in just over three months and he believes he is just not getting back into the shape he wants to be in.

“I just been training hard and getting ready for November 30th”, said Kauffman.

“I haven’t stopped training since I fought Arron Lyons on August 23rd. I haven’t gone up in weight and I am in the peak of my career and I know I have to work hard.”

He knows that he will have to be in great shape to take on the battle tested Quezada of Wasco, California, who has a record of 29-7 with 18 knockouts.

“I know he is a tough Mexican, “continued Kauffman. “It says on his record that he has been off for over two years but I know he has been fighting MMA so I know he is in good shape. He has been in with tougher guys then I have so I know he brings great experience especially after giving Chris Arreola some trouble for ten rounds as well knocking out Travis Walker in one round. He is no slouch and I know I have to beat him to get to the next level and it will prepare me as I every fight will be tougher.”

A win will most certainly will elevate Kauffman into a big fight and he feels at age 28 he is ready for that opportunity.

“If I get that opportunity, I will jump at it. Even if I have to go to Europe to fight Dereck Chisora, Wladimir Klitschko, Alexander Povetkin or Tyson Fury but 1st things first, I have to worry about Quezada.”

This will be Kauffman’s first fight in his hometown in 3 ½ years and he feels that time is right now for him to make the Heavyweight statement.

“I have changed my life around. I have 5 kids (3 biological) to look out for. I haven’t been staying at home but I am close enough to see my family whenever I have to. The kids can be a distraction but they are my biggest motivation. This is a new me and by me working very hard that will be the difference on November 30th.”

In the main event on November 30th, Middleweight Harry Joe Yorgey of Bridgeport, PA (27-2-1, 12 KO’s) takes on Lee Murtagh (33-15-1, 1 KO) of Leeds, England in a 12 round bout.

Keenan Collins (15-8-3, 10 KO’s) will fight George Sosa (12-4, 12 KO's) for the UBF Intercontinental Jr. Middleweight title that is scheduled for eight rounds.
