"I feel real good at featherweight," said Barrios. "My body feels a lot stronger at this weight.  The goal was to fire my jab and land combinations.  I was able to land a couple of nice shots to the body that left Rubio open and I was able to hurt him early.  After I put him down for the second time, I turned it up and got him out of there.  I'm ready to get back in the ring when Al Haymon says it's time to go. MAD MARCOS HERNANDEZ RETURNS THIS SATURDAY

FRESNO, CA (September 3, 2014) - Fresno's unbeaten welterweight prospect, "Mad" Marcos Hernandez (2-0) makes his way back to the ring this Saturday, September 6th, when he faces Will Walters (2-3-1, 1 KO) at the SOS Club in Modesto, California.  Hernandez who stands 6'2, will battle Walters in a 4-round bout.

Signed by world renowned manager Al Haymon, Hernandez is a towering welterweight with a great chin and an aggressive style.  He'll look to keep his unbeaten streak alive with a dominating performance against Walters, who's won his last two fights.

HERNANDEZ WINS UNANIMOUS DECISION

June 23, 2014 - Fresno's welterweight sensation, Marcos Hernandez (2-0) remained undefeated with a dominating performance against Donte Stower, winning every round to cement another unanimous decision. 

"I've been off for a while so I wanted to shake off the rust and put on a great show for the fans," said Marcos Hernandez. "Although I didn't get the knockout, I won every round and pretty much dominated the fight.  I'm hoping to get back in the ring very soon.  I want to thank Al Haymon and Luis Decubas Jr. for believing in me and giving me this opportunity."

CARLOS AND JUAN VELASQUEZ: TWIN BROTHERS SET TO FIGHT THIS SATURDAY

MINNESOTA, March 21, 2014 - Puerto Rican twin brothers, Carlos and Juan Velasquez, are set to fight this Saturday at The Myth in Maplewood, Minnesota. Both fighters will campaign at super-featherweight in scheduled 6-round bouts.  Carlos Velasquez (15-1, 11 KOs) will face Willshaun Boxley (6-9-1, 4 KOs) while Juan Velasquez (11-1, 5 KOs) will square off against Philip Adyaka(4-4, 2 KO). 

"I'm looking forward to a big 2014," said Carlos Velasquez. "I've learned a lot since my last fight.  I've been working hard and I'm feeling incredible.  I have some new members of my team that have been pushing me to new limits.  I just want to stay busy this year and make an impact in the division."

Juan Velasquez makes his return after a long layoff.  His last fight was in April of 2012 in which he won a 4-round unanimous decision.  Against Wisdom, he'll be looking to shake off the rust and get back to fighting on a regular basis.

January 3, 2013 - The WBC board of governors have voted Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero vs. Andre Berto as their 2012 "Fight of the Year".  Guerrero, a four-division and six-time world champion, and former two-time world champion Berto, engaged in an all out slugfest for twelve rounds.  Berto survived knockdowns by Guerrero in rounds one and two, and showed tremendous heart fighting tough to the final bell.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING FROM ROBERT "THE GHOST" GUERRERO

November 21, 2012 - At a time when family and friends are gathering together for this year's Thanksgiving holiday celebration, Four-Division and Six-Time World Champion Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero is preparing for the biggest fight of his career when he faces former two-time world champion Andre Berto.   The bout takes place this Saturday, November 24 at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, Calif., and will be televised live on HBO World Championship Boxing®.

Guerrero is a man who is no stranger to dealing with adversity and this Thanksgiving he reflects on his life and all that he is thankful for. 

After Robert's wife Casey was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2007, Guerrero had to take on the difficult challenge of aiding her, while miraculously fighting at the elite level.  After finding a bone marrow match half way around the world, Casey is now cancer free, and the two are taking care of their children, Savannah Rose and Robert Jr.

"I'm really thankful to all of the fans that have been by my side throughout my career, especially when my wife was dealing with cancer," Guerrero said. "My wife is cancer free now and I'm truly grateful for the miracle that God has provided for our family when we found a donor in Katharina Zech.  My wife is the real fighter in the family and I'm thankful she's with me today."

Entering his most challenging fight to date, Guerrero is very appreciative for the golden opportunity that lies ahead of him when he faces Berto and puts his WBC interim welterweight championship on the line.

ERISLANDY LARA AND HIS TEAM ARE GEARING UP FOR MARTIROSYAN SHOWDOWN NOV 10TH

  

October 9, 2012 - Golden Boy Promotions super-welterweight contender, Erislandy Lara (17-1-1, 11 KOs) ranked No. 1 in the WBC, and his team are preparing for war as they get ready for their upcoming title elimination bout against WBC No. 2 rated, Vanes Martirosyan (30-0, 20 KOs).

 

Team Lara is training in Houston, Texas, where his trainer Ronnie Shields is putting together a superb game plan to face the undefeated Top Rank fighter. 

 

"Lara is looking sharp right now and he's going to make a statement when he steps in the ring with Vanes," said Shields, who has trained Martirosyan in the past and knows him very well. "Although I think Vanes is a good fighter, Lara is on another level.  We are working hard and it will show on fight night"
