WBA SUPER BANTAMWEIGHT CHAMPION SCOTT QUIGG DEFENDS TITLE THIS SATURDAY AGAINST DIEGO SILVA ON AWE AND AWETV.COM

SAN DIEGO (November 20, 2013)—This Saturday afternoon at 3pmeastern / 12 noon pacific on AWE & AWETV.COM, one of the most anticipated all-English showdowns will take place as WBA/IBF Super Middleweight champion Carl Froch takes on undefeated George Groves. Before that big fight, there will be a 12 round WBA Super Bantamweight title bout between undefeated champion Scott Quigg and #14 ranked Diego Silva.

Quigg, who is 26-0-2 with 19 knockouts just fought to a draw with undefeated Yoandris Salinas just seven weeks ago on October 5^th.

“Training has gone well,” said Quigg when reached just three days before the fight. “I was at the gym just two days after the Salinas fight. I am improved and am ready for Saturday.”

“It was my team’s idea to come back so quick as I wasn’t hurt and I am a gym rat. I wasn’t hurt or bruised at all so everything should be good on Saturday.”

Quigg knows that the fight with Silva (29-2-4, 15 KO’s) could make for an entertaining appetizer for the main course that is Froch and Groves.

“We have seen a few tapes. He comes forward and is aggressive. That will make it good exciting for the fans.”

While being relatively unknown to the American fight fans, Quigg knows that this is a big opportunity to throw his name into the mix for big fights.

“I want to be in the big fights. There is pressure to perform as I want to make some noise across the pond. This is a big platform so I can make this happen.”

Quigg also knows that there are a lot of significant names to make those fights a reality.

“Rigondeaux is obviously the number-one guy in the division but there is Leo Santa Cruz, Kiko Martinez and even Vic Darchinyan if he goes back down to 122 lbs that can make for great fights for me.”

One name that wasn’t mentioned but is first and foremost on his mind as a future opponent is undefeated Carl Frampton of Northern Ireland.

The two have been linked to fighting each other for a couple years now and a win over Silva can make this fight the next biggest fight in the United Kingdom after the conclusion of Saturday’s main event and the recent cancellation of the Heavyweight battle between David Haye and Tyson Fury.

“I want the Frampton fight. We made him an offer and the fight didn’t happen. It’s good to have him as a rival and after Carl and George get done on Saturday, that is the biggest potential fight in the United Kingdom.”

“On Saturday night, I am going to prove that I am the real deal and the best in the division.”

Journey continues for Demetrius Andrade WBO title fight Nov. 9 vs. Vanes Martirosyan

ATLANTA (October 07, 2013) - The journey continues for undefeated 2008 U.S. Olympian Demetrius "Boo Boo" Andrade (19-0, 13 KOs) as he prepares for his November 9th world title fight in Corpus Christi, Texas, against 2004 U.S. Olympian Vanes "Nightmare" Martirosyan (33-0-1, 21 KOs) for the vacant World Boxing Organization (WBO) junior middleweight championship. Andrade vs. Martirosyan will be part of an HBO tripleheader, headlined by the WBO junior lightweight title fight between defending champion Roman Martinez and challenger Mikey Garcia, and a rematch between former world champions Nonito Donaire and Vic Darchinyan. The 25-year-old Andrade was originally slated to challenge then WBO champion Zaurbek Baysangurov last July.   The Russian pulled out of the fight with an injury and was stripped of his title belt, leaving the world title vacant to set-up the Nov. 9 showdown between the top two rated WBO 154-pounders, respectively, Martirosyan and Andrade. Andrade, fighting out of Providence (RI), has been at training camp in Atlanta with his father/head trainer, Paul Andrade.  They have brought in a half-dozen sparring partners, mostly tall with quick hand speed, to prepare for Martirosyan. "This title fight is part of my journey," the 2007 AIBA World Championships gold medalist Andrade said.  "When I first started boxing, I said that I'd fight in The Olympics, become world champion, and retire undefeated.  I will become the first boxer from the 2008 U.S. Olympic Boxing Team to become world champion as a professional.  This is the opportunity I've waited for my whole life.  It is going to open my door to stardom, letting boxing fans know I'm here.  This is it! "I was supposed to fight for the world title in July but I believe everything happens for a reason.  I've had more time to work with my dad.  I'm stronger, faster and this camp has been better organized and structured than any I've had in the past.  I'm growing and developing all the time." While Martirosyan has been talking about fights with Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and others, Andrade has fully concentrated on Martirosyan and the task at hand.  Their only common opponent is Angel Hernandez, who Martirosyan defeated by 10-round decision in 2008, and Andrade stopped in the second round of his last fight this past January. "He can talk all he wants about fighting other guys," Andrade remarked, "but if he thinks fighting me is going to be a walk in the park, he's going to be in big trouble.  I'm coming for him and he doesn't know how bad that's going to be for him. "He's already had 34 fights and this is his first title fight, which says something about him.  He doesn't do anything great.  He's not slick, his feet are all over the place, and he jumps in to throw punches.  He walks in, loading up to throw big punches.  He wasn't impressive against (Erislandy) Lara or even Joe Greene." Team Andrade hopes Martirosyan is looking past the slick southpaw.  "This is going to be a tough fight and we respect Vanes," Andrade's manager Ed Farris added, "but Alvarez shouldn't waste his time thinking about a fight with Martirosyan.  We're confident that Demetrius will be walking out of the ring with the WBO belt on November 9th. Del Valle returns in big fashion

April 5, 2013 - Last night Puerto Rican prospect, Luis "Orlandito" Del Valle(17-1, 12KO's) scored a solid win by TKO in the fifth round over southpaw puncher, Andre Wilson (13-6-1, 11KO's) in a scheduled featherweight eight-round bout held at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City.  Referee Randy Newman stopped the action at 1:32.

In the first round, Del Valle managed to put Wilson in bad shape with a left hook to the face.  In the second round, the Puerto Rican continued his aggression, but finally dropped Wilson in the third and applied the same in rounds 4 and finally round 5, where the referee stopped the fight. 

"Orlandito" was landing strong combinations of straight right and left hooks to the body and face throughout the fight.

"I feel very fast handed and stronger. Definitely Im back in the winning track with the help of my new trainer Don Nacho (Beristain) and now its a matter of staying focused in the gym, while I wait for the next opponent" said "Orlandito ", who is promoted by DiBella Entertainment and Gary Shaw Productions.

This bout marked the return to the ring of "Orlandito" after suffering his first loss to the legendary Vic Darchinyan in September.

VIC DARCHINYAN ROARS BACK INTO WORLD TITLE CONTENTION

October 1, 2012 - This past Saturday, former three division world champion, Vic "Raging Bull" Darchinyan (38-5-1, 27 KOs), resurrected his career with a dominating victory against previous unbeaten Puerto Rican contender, Luis Orlando Del Valle (16-1, 11 KOs).  With the gutty win, Darchinyan roars back into world title contention as he captured the vacant NABF title in the super bantamweight division. 

After becoming a world champion in multiple divisions, Darchinyan's win against Del Valle was his first at the super bantamweight division.  Many opportunities arise with the victory.

"I felt very strong coming into this fight and I was in great shape." said Darchinyan. "I'm going to campaign at super bantamweight moving forward and I believe I still have the power to keep my opponents honest."

Darchinyan felt that coming into this fight as the underdog, was a slap in the face.

Alex “The Brick City Bullet” Perez, 16-0, 9 KOs, is a tough and exciting fighter from Newark, NJ. Decarie, 26-1, 7 KOs, is also an action fighter, who has fought top competition and has been very successful. While neither fighter is a household name, both are top welterweights on the brink of stardom. When DiBella announced the fight he said, “It is a fight that people are legitimately excited about. (September 27, 2012) - Promoter Lou DiBella, President of DiBella Entertainment, hosted the final pre-fight "Road To Glory" press conference today in the Celebrity Room at MGM Grand at Foxwoods for Saturday night's special HBO Boxing After Dark tripleheader, live from the MGM Grand Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut. "Road To Glory," headlined by a 10-round title bout featuring undefeated super middleweight contender Edwin "La Bomba" Rodriguez (21-0, 14 KOs), fighting out of nearby Worcester, Massachusetts, defending his United States Boxing Association (USBA) against unbeaten power-puncher Jason "Monstruo" Escalera (13-0-1, 12 KOs), of Union City, New Jersey. Also fighting on the HBO BAD show is undefeated Luis Orlando "Orlandito" Del Valle (16-0, 11 KOs) vs. former three-time, two-division world champion Vic "Raging Bull" Darchinyan (37-5-1, 27 KOs), in the 10-round co-feature for the vacant North American Boxing Federation (NABF) super bantamweight title. World Boxing Council (WBC) International welterweight champion Antonin Decarie (26-1, 7 KOs), rated No. 8 by the WBC and fighting out of Quebec, challenges the unbeaten challenger Alex Perez (16-0, 9 KOs), of Newark, New Jersey, for the vacant NABF welterweight belt. The event is promoted by DiBella Entertainment, in association with Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing and Gary Shaw Productions.  All three bouts will be aired on HBO's Boxing After Dark, beginning at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT.
