RUSLAN PROVODNIKOV BEGINS TRAINING CAMP TODAY FOR MIKE ALVARADO SHOWDOWN ON OCTOBER 19TH IN DENVER ON HBO

                                       

LOS ANGELES (August 12, 2013)—World Ranked Ruslan Provodnikov began training camp today at the Wild Card Gym to start his preparation for his October 19^th clash with WBO Jr. Welterweight champion Mike Alvarado that will take place in Denver and will be seen Live on HBO.

Provodnikov (22-2, 15 KO’s) arrived in Los Angeles last week and did promotional activities with Alvarado which included the taping of the popular “Face to Face “program.  Today he started full force with Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach and world class strength and conditioning coach Gavin McMillian.

Tonight, Provodnikov will board a flight for Denver for the kick off press conference which takes place on Tuesday afternoon.

“My fate gave me another chance in a big fight to fight for the title.” said Provodnikov.

“Today I started training camp which is the road towards my dream and goal to become world champion”.

Said Provodnikov’s manager Vadim Kornilov, “Ruslan started training with Gavin McMillian today.  With the full training camp that Ruslan will get with Freddie and Gavin, I think Ruslan will be a more complete fighter in the ring”.

The fight is promoted by Top Rank and Banner Promotions.

PROVODNIKOV READY FOR TOP JR. WELTERWEIGHTS

PHILADELPHIA (July 31, 2012)—WBO number-two ranked Jr. Welterweight contender Ruslan Provodnikov is looking to take on any of the champions or top contenders in his next bout and feels he is just an opportunity away from becoming a world champion.

Provodnikov (22-1, 15 KO’s) of Beryozovo, Russia has won five fights in a row which include four impressive knockouts and has been tabbed by many boxing insiders as one of the most exciting fighters in the world.

Provodnikov is trained by Hall of Famer Freddie Roach and he is in agreement with Pelullo and Kornilov.

“Ruslan has been sparring with Pacquiao and Khan and he does very well with them and I believe he is ready for a big bout.  He is very durable and improved so much in the last Pacquiao camp that I feel he is ready for the big time," said Roach.

CORK, Ireland (July 11, 2012) - A frustrated World Boxing Association ("WBA") Super Bantamweight Champion Guillermo "El Chacal" Rigondeaux (10-0, 8 KOs), upon learning that Nonito Donaire plans to move up to the featherweight division after his next fight, has labeled Donaire, "The Filipino Phony." "Donaire is running scared of any super bantamweights with power," Rigondeaux said from his Miami training camp. "He hasn't knocked out anybody at 122 pounds. One thing is for sure, though, he will get knocked out if he has the guts to fight me." Rigondeaux trained at Wild Card Gym with one of his favorite fighters, Manny Pacquiao, who may be wondering at this point exactly why his fellow countryman, Donaire, doesn't fight Rigondeaux to determine the contemporary King of the Super Bantamweights. 'Kid Chocolate' plans to crack Winky's shell on Showtime

The 40-year-old Wright (51-5-1, 25 KOs), naturally, has a tremendous experience advantage over Quillin (26-0-, 20 KOs), who was seven years old attending  grammar school in Grand Rapids, Michigan, when "Winky" made his pro debut in 1990.
