EVERLAST & BELLATOR TO UNVEIL PINK-INSPIRED GLOVES FOR BREAST CANCER AWARENESS

Newport Beach, CA. (October 3, 2013) – Everlast Worldwide Inc., andBellator MMA, will show support to breast cancer research and prevention by debuting pink-inspired fight gloves on the October 4^th Bellator fight card broadcast live on Spike TV and which will take place in Visalia, CA.

In recent years, both Everlast and Bellator have raised awareness for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) by including pink ribbons on canvases and cage dressings throughout the month of October, however Friday night will mark the first time a major MMA promotion has changed the color of its fight gloves. Each fight on the card will feature the new gloves, which will shed the traditional black and red color scheme for black and pink as a sign of support.

“The most important fights in the world are those that take place outside of the ring or cage.” said Matt Cowan, EVP Marketing, Sales and Product for Everlast. “Through our long-standing partnership with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, it is our committed goal to honor and support those fighters and survivors around the world.”

“We are honored to have our fighters wear Everlast’s new gloves inside our cage this Friday live on Spike,” Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney said. “This is a tremendous opportunity to showcase the importance of cancer research and we will continue to support the Breast Cancer Research Foundation in their efforts.”

Bellator 102 takes place on October 4^th and will air live on Spike TV at9:00 p.m. ET from the Visalia Convention Center in Visalia, CA.

Throughout the month of October, one dollar from every sale of the CardioBlast heavy bag will be donated to BCRF. These donations are in addition to Everlast’s on-going contributions throughout the year, which include twenty-five cents from all purchases of the pink 108” hand wraps and pink Evergel hand wraps along with one dollar from the sale of each pink Pro Style Training Glove.

MFC announces ‘Power of Pink’

Ring ropes, Ring mat  Glove tape to feature breast cancer awareness color at MFC 35

The Maximum Fighting Championship will be proudly supporting the fight to end breast cancer at MFC 35: Explosive Encounter.

The “Power of Pink” Initiative will take place on Friday, October 26 at the Mayfield Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta.

“Unfortunately, cancer has touched someone in everybody’s family, and breast cancer is especially heartbreaking yet the fight of those ladies battling this disease is truly inspiring,” said Mark Pavelich, Owner/President of the Maximum Fighting Championship.

“The MFC would like to show its support in whatever way we can and showcasing pink on fight night is just a small measure of our sentiment.”

The MFC will wrap two of the ring ropes in pink tape as opposed to the usual white, a new MFC logo with pink ribbon (pictured above) will be on the ring mat, and fighters will sport pink tape on their gloves. MFC staff will also be wearing pink accessories such as neckties during fight night.

“To help make an even bigger statement, we’re encouraging our fighters to wear pink during their walkout to the ring and to put the pink ribbon on their sponsorship banner,” added Pavelich. “More pink means more support and awareness, and hopefully, one day a cure.”

MFC 35: Explosive Encounter will air live on AXS TV Fights throughout the United States on Friday, Oct. 26 beginning at 10 p.m. ET/8 p.m. MT/7 p.m. PT (check local listings for channel designation). The main card will then air on tape-delay on TSN 2 throughout Canada.

“FIGHT FOR THE CURE”ON SATURDAY NIGHT OCTOBER 27TH AT HARRAHS PHILADELPHIA (FORMALLY HARRAHS CHESTER)

PHILADELPHIA, PA (October 1, 2012)—On Saturday night October 27^th, a special night of boxing will take place at Harrahs Philadelphia (formally Harrahs Chester) as a show billed “Fight For The Cure “as the show will feature some of the best female boxers in the world.

The show is promoted by Joey Eye Boxing Promotions & David Feldman in association with Bionic Bull Promotions

A portion of the proceeds from of the event will go to Breast Cancer Awareness.

In the main event, Melissa St. Vil will take on Jackie Trivilino for the vacant WIBA International Super Featherweight title.

St. Vil of Brooklyn, NY has a record of 2-1-2 and despite having only five fights, she has faced and defeated top competition.

She opened her career with a draw with the popular Olivia Fonseca and has win over Jennifer Han and Evette Collazo.

Trivilino of Plattsburgh, NY has a record of 8-5-2 with one knockout and is always in all-action fights.

She has a win over Angel Gladney (6-1-1) and two draws with former world title challenger Nydia Feliciano. In Trivilino’s last fight, she fought a war with undefeated world champion Ronica Jeffrey (9-0) before dropping an eight round unanimous decision.

In a six round Featherweight bout, LaKeysha Williams (9-16-3, 1 KO) of Philadelphia will take on Ela “Bam Bam” Nunez (11-13-2, 3 KO’s) Of Jamestown, NY

In a six round Super Featherweight bout, undefeated Althea Saunders (3-0) will battle Carla Torres (3-2) of Cleveland, OH

In a six round Bantamweight bout, Patty “Boom Boom” Alcivar (6-1, 3 KO’s) of Queens, NY takes on an opponent to be named

In a six round Bantamweight bout, Former world title challenger, Nydia Feliciano (5-3-3) will see action against an opponent to be named.

In a four round Flyweight bout, Tyrieshia Douglas (1-0) of Washington, DC boxes an opponent to be named

Baltimore Boxing Promotions to host Breast Cancer Benefit July 13!

 

Baltimore, MD (June 24, 2012) – Jake Smith’s Baltimore Boxing Promotions returns to the Du Burns Arena Friday, July 13 for “Knockout Breast Cancer,” a special benefit event loaded with local talent.

 

A percentage of the evening’s proceeds will go to the American Breast Cancer Foundation and tickets from $25 are available on Baltimoerboxing.com or by calling 410-375-9175. All ticketholders are encouraged to wear pink to help raise awareness for breast cancer.

 

Headlining the action-packed card is a middleweight title bout between reigning champion Jerome Featherstone and Ryan Watson. An elite wrestler in both high school and college, Featherstone’s undefeated inside the squared circle. The crowd favorite has also improved rapidly since lacing up a pair of gloves for the first time less than a year ago.

 

The co-featured bout of the evening will be a rematch between Amelia Moore and Floria Vibe. The two met earlier this year in a crowd-pleasing contest and in addition to bragging rights, the winner of the second go-round receives the Knockout Breast Cancer championship.

 

Nationally ranked female superstar Franchon Crews and former Penn State boxing captain A.J. Williams will also appear in separate matches on the 10 bout fight card.

 

“This is going to be a heck of a card,” exclaimed Smith, a member of the Maryland and D.C. Boxing Hall of Fames. “We’ve got some of the top fighters from the Baltimore area on this card and more importantly, we’re helping to knockout breast cancer.”

 

All bouts are sanctioned by USA Boxing.

 

The Du Burns Arena is located at 1301 S. Elwood Ave in Baltimore. Doors open at 6:30 and the first bout is slated for 8 pm.
