Cayo and Campbell Ready to Rumble in Dominican Republic This Saturday, March 24

The entire tropical paradise of the Dominican Republic is lit up with excitement over this Saturday, March 24's professional boxing event at the Palacio de Los Deportes in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic,

The Sampson Boxing and Manguita Promotions main event will feature Santo Domingo's own Victor "Mermelada" Cayo (27-2, 19 KOs) taking on Jacksonville, Florida's former unified lightweight world champion Nate "The Galaxxy Warrior" Campbell (34-9-1, 25 KOs) over 10 bruising rounds or less.

On the undercard, hometown world champion Dahiana Santana (28-6, 12 KOs) will defend her IBF Featherweight Championship in a 10-round rematch against former champion Stacey Reile (10-4, 4 KOs) of Miami, Florida.

And in the other women's title fight, IBF Junior Featherweight Champion Ada Velez (20-3-3, 6 KOs) will defend her belt against Santo Domingo native and once-beaten contender Katy Wilson Castillo (14-1, 9 KOs).

Also scheduled for the undercard is a pair of young knockout artists: junior welterweight Juan Carlos Abregu (6-0, 6 KOs) and featherweight Braulio "El Chavo" Rodriguez (6-0, 6 KOs).

Gleason's Next Amateur Show is Saturday, April 21, 2012

This will be for females only.



The weigh in will begin at 4:00PM and the first bout will begin at 6:00PM.

All our bouts are pre-matched. They are sanctioned by USABoxingMetro. All boxers must have their boxing book with them in order to participate.

The ticket price is $20 per person. Children 6 and under are not charged. All gym members and registered amateurs with their books in hand pay $15 per person.

AMANDA SERRANO CHALLENGES FRIDA WALLBERG FOR WBC SUPER FEATHERWEIGHT TITLE

  

March 5, 2012 - Amanda "The Real Deal" Serrano (14-0-1, 9 KOs) has agreed to travel to Sweden and challenge Frida "Golden Girl" Wallberg (10-0, 2 KOs) for her WBC Super Featherweight title at the Cloetta Center in Linkoping, Sweden, on April 27. 

Said Serrano, "I want to thank my promoter Boxing360 for making this fight happen.  It's very difficult getting these championship fights finalized.  The contract is signed and I'm ready to go.  This will be my first time traveling overseas to fight for a world title and I'm going to make the best of this opportunity.  My goal is to get the knockout and leave no doubts in the judges' minds."

MARCH 5, 2012 (NEWPORT BEACH, CA) - Ever since it gained worldwide notice in 1996, women's boxing has produced a series of great fighters, but two iconic names stand above the rest - Christy Martin and Mia St. John.

This summer, nearly a decade after their first bout in 2002, Martin and St. John will meet again, in FINAL VICTORY, only this time the stakes will be even higher, as these two champions will fight for the final time and it will be for the WBC World Super Welterweight Belt in a big night of championship boxing on Tuesday evening, June 19th that will be presented by Table Mountain Casino, in association with Roy Englebrecht Promotions.

For Martin, this is her opportunity to reach the 50-win milestone against a heated rival looking to keep her from that mark. More importantly, it will be a fitting celebration of a career and life thought to be over when "The Coal Miner's Daughter" was allegedly shot and stabbed by her ex-husband Jim in 2010. Yet despite the odds, Martin not only survived, but she returned to the ring in 2011. Now she wants to finish the most memorable career in women's boxing history by defeating St. John. "I am excited about this opportunity to get my 50th win against Mia St John to finish my career," said Martin. St. John has her own reasons for wanting this fight, and the way she sees it, this matchup is all about respect and redemption. In 2002, despite her stellar 26-1-1 record, it took an exciting 10 round war with Martin to earn the acclaim from the boxing world that she deserved. Since then, "The Knockout" has continued to be one of the sport's great ambassadors, in and out of the ring, and all that's left for her is to even the score with her greatest rival in Christy Martin. February 14, 2012 -Boxing360's, Amanda "The Real Deal" Serrano (13-0-1, 9KOs), who holds the IBF female super featherweight title, will once again face the rough and rugged, Ela Nunez (11-12-2, 3 KOs), in an eight round non-title bout, this Friday, February 17, at Cicero Stadium, in Cicero, Illinois.  The fight takes place as the co-main event on Sammy Merza Promotion's "International Rumble in Cicero" card, showcasing Joel Diaz Jr. (7-0, 6 KO's) in the main event.

When asked about fighting Nunez for the fourth time, Serrano, a native of Brooklyn, New Yorkstated, "It's going to be fun, I love Ela, she's a great person and a great fighter.  She's always a tough fight and I know she's in good shape because she just fought a week and a half ago.  I'm stronger than the last time I fought her and I'm always progressing when we fight each other.  This will be a great fight for the fans."
