FIGHT NOW TV Delivers Exciting Boxing Action this Weekend from both sides of the Atlantic on 'Super Saturday'

Fury vs. Rogan plus O'Donnell & Eubank Jr. from N. Ireland; Gesta-Cuero & Alvarado-Herrera from N. America

HOBOKEN, NJ (April 10, 2012) - FIGHT NOW TV TM - America's only 24-hour combat sports and entertainment channel - will deliver exciting boxing from both sides of the Atlantic Ocean this Saturday (Apr. 14) starting at 5 PM/ET.

"FIGHT NOW TV continues to strive to deliver compelling boxing for viewers all across America on our 24/7 channel," commented FIGHT NOW TV co-founder & manager Mike Garrow. "This Saturday, of course, is no exception. We'll be taking our viewers around the world, thanks in part to HBO PPV and Hennessy Sports, to watch world-class boxing from Belfast, Ireland and North America. With major events happening each and every week from around the world, FIGHT NOW TV is a unique, innovative channel offering an opportunity for fight fans in America to keep up with all the action, no matter where fights are taking place. 'Super Saturday' is another example of why FIGHT NOW TV is a must for boxing, as well as MMA, fans in the United States."

"Super Saturday" kicks-off from Odyssey Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland as undefeated sensation Tyson Fury battles Martin Rogan for the Irish Heavyweight Championship, headlining the "Unfinished Business" card, presented by Hennessy Sports.

The 6' 9", 260-plus pound Fury (17-0, 12 KOs), rated No. 8 by the World Boxing Council ("WBC") and No. 14 by the World Boxing Organization ("WBO"), is one of the top heavyweight prospects in the world. A native of Manchester who lives in Cheshire, England, Tyson, as an amateur boxer, represented both England and Ireland because his father is from Galway and grandmother (on his mother's side) hails from Belfast. Named by his father after Mike Tyson, the 23-year-old Fury comes from an Irish Traveller family with a long history in boxing, going back to bare-knuckles days that Tyson proudly carries on. He is considered by many as the heir apparent to Wladimir and/or Vitaly Klitschko as a future world champion.

"It hurt me deeply not being able to fight for Ireland at the Olympics (200*) and to win this Irish title will be just fantastic," Fury said. "I don't care about Wladimir or Vitali Klitschko. Those guys can wait because winning the Irish Heavyweight Championship in Belfast means everything to me."

A typical Irish brawler from Belfast, Rogan (14-2, & KOs) is a former Gaelic football player who won the "Prizefighter Heavyweight Tournament."

Also fighting in separate bouts on Saturday's "Unfinished Business" card are two fighters at opposite ends of their boxing careers, veteran Irish welterweight John O'Donnell (24-2, 11 KOs) and 22-year-old middleweight prospect Chris Eubank, Jr. (2-0, 1 KO), the son of two-division world champion Chris "Simply The Best" Eubank.

The action then shifts at 7 PM/ET to North America for the live broadcast of several fights from a split HBO pay-per-view broadcast - "Too Big for One Country" -- featuring, from Las Vegas, popular Brandon "Bam Bam" Rios (29-0-1, 22 KOs) vs. Richard Abril (17-2-1, 8 KOs) for the World Boxing Association ("WBA") lightweight title; and for the Interim WBO light welterweight crown, from Mexico City, future Hall of Famer Juan Manuel Marquez (53-6-1, 39 KOs) vs. Sergey Fedchenko (30-1, 13 KOs).

Expected to be showcased on Top Rank's undercard segment from "Too Big for One Country" of FIGHT NOW TV's "Super Saturday" is a 10-round lightweight match between Undefeated Filipino southpaw Mercito Gesta (24-0, 12 KOs) and dangerous Colombian boxer Oscar Cuero (15-7-1, 12 KOs). Gesta is rated as high as No. 7 by the WBA, as well as No. 8 by the WBO and No. 15 by the International Boxing Federation ("IBF"). Unbeaten IBF Latino Light Welterweight Champion Mike Alvarado (32-0, 23 KOs) takes on dangerous Mauricio Herrera (18-1, 7 KOs) in another intriguing match-up on FIGHT NOW TV.

All fights and fighters are subject to change.

Fury: Irish Fans Want Me To KO Rogan

London (April 3rd) TYSON Fury has been overwhelmed by the support he expects to receive when he battles with Martin Rogan at Belfast’s Odyssey Arena on April 14 on the Hennessey Sports ‘Unfinished Business’ show.

The Titanic battle between Fury and Rogan will be broadcast live on Channel 5.

Fury has been locked away in Manchester training like never before but has been made aware of those coming to the Odyssey who will be willing him to victory in his vacant all-Ireland heavyweight title fight with Belfast hard man Rogan.

“The support that I have been getting is unbelievable. When I boxed in Belfast last year I got a fantastic reception wherever I went and on the night the atmosphere was amazing,” commented Fury.

“Now the Irish fans are getting right behind me, they want to see me knock out Rogan. They know how good I am and they know a real Irish warrior when they see one. You’ll never see me sit on my stool and quit or complain about a bad toe - I’m the real deal.

“Rogan probably thought that he would have all the support in the arena on April 14 but he’s in for a shock because I’m going to feed off the great support that is coming my way.

“I’m very proud of my Irish roots, my uncle lives just outside Belfast, so there’s going to be great support for me and I will do them proud by knocking out wee Rogie.

“He’s a proud guy and I’m sure he’ll give it his best but when you look at the two of us there’s a big difference in class and that will be the difference on the night.”

Fury also says that he wants the victory over Rogan to be the start of a series of fights on Irish soil, leading to a World heavyweight title shot.

“The Irish fans are just fantastic, I really feel at home there. The Odyssey Arena is going to be packed out, the tickets are flying and after I beat Rogan I know the fans will want to come back again and again because they will have a world class heavyweight to support.

“Bringing a World heavyweight title fight to Irish soil would be very special and there’s nobody else can do that except me.”

Joining Tyson Fury, Martin Rogan will be middleweight sensation Chris Eubank Jr from Brighton, Former Commonwealth Champion Irishman John O'Donnell, Belfast fighters Dee Walsh, Darren Corbett, Tommy Tolan, Ciaran Healy, Marc Mccullough, Conall Carmichael, Moses Matovu and County Mayo’s Michael Sweeney.

Tyson Fury: This is my Olympic gold medal

London (March 27) TYSON Fury says winning the Irish heavyweight title will be like standing on the Olympic podium with a gold medal around his neck.

Fury meets Belfast hard man Rogan for the vacant Irish title at the Odyssey Arena on April 14 four years on from being denied the opportunity to box for Ireland at the Olympics in Beijing.

The Titanic battle between Fury and Rogan, proudly presented by Hennessy Sports, will be broadcast live on Channel 5.

The undefeated former British and Commonwealth heavyweight is determined to show he is a true Irish warrior by knocking out Rogan and then going on to win the World heavyweight title.

The pain of missing out on the Olympics still hurts Fury but he says winning the Irish title will help to ease that pain.

“When I knock out Rogan and get that Irish title around my waist it will be like me winning the gold medal at the Olympics. To win the title in the year of London 2012 will be very special,” commented Fury. “I always knew I was Irish and now everybody knows that those who prevented me from boxing for Ireland at the Olympics in Beijing denied Ireland an Olympic heavyweight gold medalist.

“It hurt me deeply not being able to fight for Ireland at the Olympics and to win this Irish title will be just fantastic. I don’t care about Wladimir or Vitali Klitschko, those guys can wait because winning the Irish heavyweight championship in Belfast means everything to me.

“Wee Rogie is going to give it everything and I hope he has been training hard because I am going to be in the shape of my life. It’s going to be a painful night for wee Rogie.

“I have locked myself away like never before to make sure that I am ready to show the Irish people how good I am and how much it means to be Irish champion.”

Joining Tyson Fury, Martin Rogan will be middleweight sensation Chris Eubank Jr from Brighton, Former Commonwealth Champion Irishman John O'Donnell, Belfast fighters Jamie Conlan, Dee Walsh, Darren Corbett, Tommy Tolan, Ciaran Healy, Marc Mccullough, Conall Carmichael, Moses Matovu and County Mayo’s Michael Sweeney.

FURY AND ROGAN TO FIGHT FOR IRISH HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE

London (March 25)TYSON Fury and Martin Rogan will fight for the vacant Irish heavyweight title at the Odyssey Arena on April 14.

The Boxing Union of Ireland have confirmed that Fury has the right to box for the title after proving his Irish ancestry with some help from his cousin and World middleweight title contender Andy Lee.

Undefeated former British and Commonwealth heavyweight champion Fury says he is “thrilled” to be boxing for the Irish title and thanked Lee and his family after they backed his campaign to prove his Irish roots.

“Andy’s father went to the Boxing Union of Ireland and signed an affidavit that my grandmother was Irish so all the talk about me being Irish or not has been put to bed,” explained Fury.

“Fighting Martin Rogan at the Odyssey Arena was always a fight that I wanted and now for it to be confirmed for the Irish title is fantastic.”
Fury says that he is going to be in the shape of his life for the fight, even better than when he won the British and Commonwealth titles from Dereck Chisora last summer.

“I’m not going to make excuses, I had some problems that I was going through in my last two fights but this time I will be in unbelievable shape and I think everyone will be shocked by just how good I look,” added Fury.

Mick Hennessy said: “Tyson has already won the English, British and Commonwealth titles, he now wants to add the Irish and European belts to his collection on route to winning a genuine world title. In doing this he will become the first ever boxer to do so .”

Joining Tyson Fury, Martin Rogan will be middleweight sensation Chris Eubank Jr from Brighton, Former Commonwealth Champion Irishman John O'Donnell from Shepherd's Bush, Belfast fighters Jamie Conlan, Dee Walsh, Darren Corbett, Tommy Tolan, Ciaran Healy, Marc Mccullough, Conall Carmichael, Moses Matovu and County Mayo’s Michael Sweeney.

JOHN O’DONNELL: I’M GLAD TO BE BACK FORMER COMMONWEALTH CHAMPION TO FEATURE ON FURY VS ROGAN UNDERCARD.

London (March 19) After a year away from the sport, Irishman John O’Donnell will be making his comeback on the undercard of the Hennessy Sports promoted event at the Odyssey Arena on Saturday 14th April.

Headlining the event titled “Unfinished Business” will be Tyson Fury vs. Martin Rogan, the Titanic Heavyweight battle will be broadcast live on Channel 5.

The 26 year old who resides in Shepherd’s Bush London, has not boxed since his British title challenge in February 2011, but he has now teamed up with trainers Jimmy and Mark Tibbs at the TKO gym in Canning Town.

Former Commonwealth champion said “It’s been a long frustrating year out of the sport but working with Jimmy and Mark Tibbs has given me my appetite back. From the first day I walked in to the gym I knew that it was right for me and I was going to start enjoying training again.

“I’ve also been working with a strength and conditioning coach for the last few months to help build up my fitness and manage my weight. Barry O’Connell from State of Mind Fitness has been putting me through my paces and is now an integral part of the team, it seems to all be coming together at long last.

“I’m just really looking forward to the 14th April, I believe with the team of people around me I can now start to show my potential and look to the future and start challenging for titles again, but this time at my correct weight, light middleweight.” Added John.

ROGAN WILL SINK FURY, SAYS COACH CHECA

Hennessy Sports proudly presents “Unfinished Business” Saturday April 14 at the Odyssey Arena, Belfast.

London (March 13) PANAMANIAN Bernardo Checa says he will give Martin Rogan the perfect tactics to bring Tyson Fury’s career to a grinding halt when the two heavyweights battle it out on April 14 at Belfast’s Odyssey Arena on the main event of Hennessy Sports “Unfinished Business” show.

Checa was the head coach for legendary Irish promoter Barney Eastwood when he was churning out numerous champions from his Belfast gym in the 1980s and 1990s, including former World featherweight champion Paul Hodkinson, former World welterweight champion Crisanto Espana and World flyweight champion Dave McAuley, a commentator for Channel 5 the broadcaster for Fury-Rogan.

The Panamanian has also trained Roberto Duran and currently works with WBA interim super-middleweight champion Brian Magee in Belfast and now he wants to add Rogan to his list of achievements when the former Commonwealth heavyweight champion meets unbeaten World number six Fury 100 years on from when the Belfast-built iconic ship the Titanic sunk in the Atlantic.

“The fight is one the same night that the Titanic sunk 100 years ago and I think that Rogie will be the iceberg who will sink the big ship Fury who everyone thinks cannot be stopped,” said Checa when speaking to the Sunday Life newspaper recently.

“I have watched Fury quite a few times and he has been hurt in many fights, he has been put down and there is a pattern, there is a reason and I plan to exploit those weaknesses.

“The key for Rogie is to be super fit and I will have him super fit. He has quick hands for a big man and we will have him ready to do what he has to in order to win.

“This is a massive opportunity for Rogie, all the pressure is on Fury because most people expect him to win. Rogie has nothing to lose so there is no pressure and he is going to have great support.

“Rogie is the underdog and I like this kind of challenge. Rogie beating Fury would be one of my biggest achievements and you know with heavyweights you just have to hit the right spot and the man will go down. They can all hit very, very hard.

“We know that Fury has a good jab and we have to neutralise that to have a chance of winning but he is also slow and that is in Rogie’s favour.

“I have heard people say that he has been out for a long time but I remember when Dave McAuley won the World title and he had been out for 13 months. Duke McKenzie’s people thought they were getting Dave at the right time but for them it was the wrong time.

“Rogan has had very few hard fights and he’ll be fresh and super fit and his speed can make the difference.”

HISTORY BECKONS: FURY AND ROGAN FIGHT FOR CUCUHALIAN'S CROWN

London (Mar 1.) TYSON Fury says he is coming to the Odyssey Arena to fight Martin Rogan on April 14 to prove that he is the rightful successor to the ultimate Irish warrior Cucuhalian.

The battle between Ireland's two top heavyweights will be a memorable night and Fury, whose uncle lives just outside Belfast, says it will be a fight unlike any other ever seen in an Irish ring.

“Never before has a fight like this taken place on Irish soil between two proud heavyweight warriors who never say die – the fans know this is a once in a lifetime fight,” said Fury, who recently vacated the British and Commonwealth heavyweight titles so he could focus on “unfinished business” with Rogan.

Rogan has seen himself as the Irish king of the heavyweights but Fury says he will be the man wearing the crown on April 14.

“Then ultimate Irish warrior was Cucuhalian, everybody knows that. Now Rogan and I will decide who is the rightful heir to his throne and I have no doubt it will be me.

“The legend goes that Cucuhalian could stand single handed against an army and that his sword inflicted wounds from which you could never recover and Martin Rogan is going to feel pain that he has never felt before when I land my big shots.

“There's a lot of pride on the line here, nobody is going to back down and it's going to be an absolute war. Rogan thinks he is the king of the Irish but on April 14 he will realise that I am the true king.

“I'm sure Cucuhalian will be looking down on us that night, watching two 21st century warriors showing the same pride and desire for victory that he always showed.”

Fury is convinced that victory over Rogan on the Odyssey Arena stage will then set him on the path to European and World glory.

“I've won the British and Commonwealth titles but I always said that I wanted to prove I'm the best Irishman around before I tackle the European and World stage.”
