Saturday, Sept. 13 event allows fans to meet and greet boxing legends and other celebrities of the sport before Mayweather-Maidana rematch

LAS VEGAS, Aug. 26, 2014 – A veritable Who’s Who of boxing: Mike Tyson (Iron Mike Productions), Roy Jones Jr., Riddick Bowe, Mikey Garcia, Sergio Martinez, Juan Manuel Marquez, Al Bernstein, Robert Garcia and Mia St. John, among others will be at the Las Vegas Convention Center Saturday, Sept. 13 for the inaugural Box Fan Expo.

Scheduled from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and coinciding with Mexican Independence Day and the Floyd Mayweather-Marcos Maidana rematch that evening, the Box Fan Expo allows fans to meet and greet the sport’s legends, past and current champions and other celebrities of the sport, collect autographs, take photos and purchase merchandise and memorabilia.

“There are few opportunities like this that allow the boxing fan to come face-to-face with their favorite boxers and other celebrities, which is what makes the Box Fan Expo a truly unique and must-see experience,” said Alonzo Benezra, the event’s organizer. “With the Box Fan Expo, we hope to bring boxing back into the spotlight by gathering the boxing industry all under one roof for one special day and for all the fans to enjoy. This is a great opportunity to show the world just how sweet the “sweet science” can be.”

Joining Tyson, Jones, Bowe, Garcia, Martinez, Marquez and St. John at the Las Vegas Convention Center are Zab Judah, Shawn Porter, Brandon Rios, Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero, Erislandy Lara, Jean Pascal, Peter ”Kid Chocolate” Quillin, Lamon Brewster, James Toney, Chris Byrd, Ray Mercer, Terry Norris, Austin Trout and Jesse James Leija. Other fighters are expected to be announced in the coming days.

“We know this is going to be a popular event with all the major boxing stars present, so we advise people to get their tickets early, so they are assured of meeting and greeting their favorite fighters,” Benezra said.

The Box Fan Expo is a complete, all-encompassing experience for the boxing fan. Aside from meeting past world champions and legends of the sport, fans can meet top trainers such as Maidana’s trainer – Garcia – commentators such as Bernstein, representatives of boxing’s various federations and boxing gear and apparel companies such as Rival Boxing, Kronk Boxing, Killa Pro Boxing and Cleto Reyes.

BOXING'S NEXT MEXICAN-AMERICAN STAR HAS EMERGED: ROBERT "THE GHOST" GUERRERO

November 27, 2012 - In a battle that had Super Bowl like stakes on the line, Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero (31-1-1, 18 KOs) thoroughly dominated former two-time welterweight world champion Andre Berto (28-2, 22 KOs), over twelve grinding back and forth action-packed rounds, dropping him twice in the process.  The slug-fest has many commentators, fans and media, considering this war to be "Fight of the year".

Guerrero, a four-time world champion over six weight classes, is the only Mexican-American fighter, other than future Hall of Famer and promoter Oscar De La Hoya, to win as many titles in as many weight classes.

After once campaigning at the Junior featherweight (122 pounds) weight class, "The Ghost" has now triumphed over six weight divisions, being the only active fighter other than Manny Pacquiao to compete and win in as many divisions.

Lewkowicz Congratulates Chris 'The Dragon' John for 17th Successful Title Defense

Sampson Lewkowicz, advisosr of WBA featherweight "super" champion Chris "The Dragon" John (48-0-2, 22 KOs) sends his warmest congratulations to his fighter for making his 17th successful title defense on Friday night in Singapore.

Fighting on Mahkota Promotions' card at the Marina Bay Sands and live on Australia FOX, John outclassed previously undefeated Chonlatarn Piriyapinyo (44-1, 27 KOs) by unanimous (117-111, 119-109 and 119-109) decision.

33-year-old John won the WBA featherweight title in 2006 against Oscar Leon. This was his sixth defense of his "Super" title. In his illustrious career, John has beaten fellow future hall of famer Juan Manuel Marquez and notable top contender Rocky Juarez.

John dominated most of the action. Piriyapinyo had some good moments in rounds seven and eight, but John took back over after that.

"Chris John is a force of nature. A fighter for the history books," said Lewkowicz. "He is 33 and still dominating fighters who come in at 44-0. I am honored to be working with him and I send him my warmest regards for his outstanding performance."

PROVODNIKOV READY FOR TOP JR. WELTERWEIGHTS

PHILADELPHIA (July 31, 2012)—WBO number-two ranked Jr. Welterweight contender Ruslan Provodnikov is looking to take on any of the champions or top contenders in his next bout and feels he is just an opportunity away from becoming a world champion.

Provodnikov is trained by Hall of Famer Freddie Roach and he is in agreement with Pelullo and Kornilov.

“Ruslan has been sparring with Pacquiao and Khan and he does very well with them and I believe he is ready for a big bout.  He is very durable and improved so much in the last Pacquiao camp that I feel he is ready for the big time," said Roach.

Earns Right To Challenge Floyd "Pretty Boy" Mayweather

July 31, 2012 - This past weekend, Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero (30-1-1, 18 KOs) made history by becoming the only Mexican-American prizefighter, other than Oscar De La Hoya, to become a multiple world champion in four divisions and only the third fighter in history to win a Featherweight and Welterweight world title other than the great Henry Armstrong and superstar Manny Pacquiao.  He claimed victory winning the WBC Interim welterweight title with a thrilling and historical performance against undefeated power puncher, Selcuk Aydin (23-1, 17 KOs), who was ranked No. 1 in the world and viewed by many as the biggest puncher in the division. 

After moving up six weight classes and capturing championships in multiple weight classes, Guerrero solidifies himself as a pound for pound performer.  The Aydin win makes Guerrero a top contender in the welterweight division and makes him the mandatory challenger to face who many feel is the best fighter in the world, Floyd "Pretty Boy" Mayweather (43-0, 26 KOs).

Guerrero has always sought out the toughest opponents but has been avoided by the biggest names in boxing such as Juan Manuel Marquez, Juan Diaz, Amir Khanand Chris John.  Now, after his gritty and inspiring performance, "The Ghost" has earned himself a mega fight.
