I must say, Cartagena is a very humble person", said Rodríguez that also commented "the training for this bout was really hard because we knew how good Cartagena is. Saturday culminates big week for Club 1957 Management

Cartagena, Sosa and Brunson all in action on the heels of big knockout win by Tevin Farmer

Philadelphia (October 16, 2014) - This Saturday night, three fighters who compete under the Club 1957 Management banner will be in action as Miguel Cartegena (13-1, 5 KO's) takes on Emmanuel Rodriguez for the WBO Latino Bantamweight title.  On the same card in Caguas, Puerto Rico, Jr. Lightweight Jason Sosa (12-1-3, 8 KO's)  takes on Juan Cruz.  In Philadelphia, Jr. Middleweight Tyrone Brunson (22-2-1, 21 KO's) will battle DeCarlo Perez.

Just one week ago, Featherweight Tevin Farmer won his tenth consecutive bout with a one round destruction over Dominic Coca in Springfield, Virginia.

Farmer of Philadelphia took out Coca with one right hook to raise his record to 17-4-1 with four knockouts.

"I always had power and it was just a matter of time before it kicked in.  people will see more knockouts from me," said Farmer.

Farmer is ready for a fight that will put him in great position for a great opportunity.

"I would like to fight for something big.  It is up to my promoter and manager.  I am ready for that fight tomorrow."

Farmer is promoted by DiBella Entertainment.

Since he was a prized amateur, big things have been expected for Cartagena and on Saturday night could be the first step to realizing his championship aspirations.

"I am feeling good, strong and confident in myself.  I had a great camp and I am just ready and feeling good,"said Cartegena.

"This is the perfect time for me.  I have been preparing mentally and physically for this fight.  I am expecting a great show and I will give it all what I got and I will show everyone what I do."

As for Sosa, this will be his first fight in just over six months when he viciously stopped Michael Brooks in the ninth round of their fight in Atlantic City.

"I feel great and camp went really well.  It has been six months and I am ready to get back in there," said Sosa, who will be making his first fight under the Club 1957 Management banner.

"I am looking forward to perform. Being that the fight is in Puerto Rico, I feel that I am at home.  I was raised here and am excited to fight here."

He is facing an unknown quantity in Cruz, but the 26 year-old native of Camden, New Jersey is not concerned.

"I have no idea about him.  My job is to train and be prepared.  My trainer and manager take care of the other stuff. I am just excited and ready to go."

" The statement that we hear so often from boxers "Hard Work Pays Off" applies at every level and it is spreading like wildfire in the Club 1957 Stable. It is my job to ensure that every boxer has what they need so they can bring their best performance every time they step into the ring to fight. I am 24/7 with my team in contact with each of my boxers on a daily basis. This may seem obsessive but it works! I choose to work with specific boxers not only because they are elite athletes (which they are) but equally as important because they have committed to put boxing above all. This is just one of the many reasons why I have no doubt that Tyrone 'Young Gun" Brunson will be victorious over DeCarlo Perez this Saturday night. Tyrone is the more experienced boxer and the fact that he has extraordinary KO power, veteran boxing skills, and in shape...now that is just Dangerous! Obviously I am proud of Tyrone and he is prepared for anything,"said Club 1957 manager Mark Cipparone.

"This week for the stable could not have started off better as both Miguel and Sosa were there to support their gym mate in VA. as Tevin Farmer got things popping with his first round KO. The entire Team traveled together the next morning and we have been in PR  since last Sunday finishing up what Miguel calls his best camp ever! I enjoy every part of what I do and I will always give my best when it comes to my boxers... because as I said in the begining "Hard Work Pays Off!"

Despite setback, Cartagena on road to becoming Flyweight champion

Philadelphia (June 18) - Down but far from out.  A term that has been used many times in many aspects of life but for 21 year-old Flyweight contender Miguel Cartagena of Philadelphia, it couldn't be more true.

Back on April 24, Cartagena entered the ring for his bout with Timur Shailezov with a perfect record of 12-0.  Cartagena had been improving with each performance and it was thought his bout with Shailezov would have been another solid victory.

Unfortunately Cartagena was hurt and dropped in the 1st round.  He was never able to recover and was stopped in round three.

For many young fighters, that loss could have been a confidence and career killer.  But Cartagena went back to the drawing board and is looking to resume what many have predicted for him and that is a path to the world championship.

Young Miguel will be back in action in July when he looks to get back on the pursuit of a world title.

"It's a part of boxing, no excuses he was the better man tonight. I'll be back stronger than ever. This is just a minor set back for a major comeback," were Cartagena's words after the TKO defeat.

Cartagena is set to make is return to the ring within 6 weeks. "I've had plenty of time to rest, recover and spend time with my family and friends, but I was back in the gym a week after my last fight," Continued Cartagena.

His manager Mark Cipparone of Club 1957 Management see's big things for Miguel's future despite having a loss on his record, "We will take one fight at a time and build Miguel back up mentally to where he was before his last fight. When I see Miguel Cartagena, I see a future world champion. We have a great team, great trainers and a great support group for Miguel and all of my other boxers".

Ferrante eyeing Caputo Smith rematch but must get by Martinez this Friday at Harrahs Philadelphia; PRESS CONFERENCE WED. NIGHT AT HARRAHS PHILADELPHIA AT 7PM

For Immediate Release

Chester, PA (March 18, 2014)--This Friday night at Harrahs Philadelphia, Cruiserweight, Tony "Boom Boom" Ferrante will look to get back into the win column when he takes on fellow Philadelphian Pedro Martinez (6-7, 3 KO's) in a 6-round bout that will be part of a big night of boxing promoted Joey Eye Boxing Promotions.

In the main event, Eric Hunter (17-3, 9 KO's) of Philadelphia will take on Yenifel Vicente (25-2-2, 17 KO's of Miami, FL in a 10-round bout for the USBA Featherweight title.

THERE WILL BE A PRESS CONFERENCE WEDNESDAY, MARCH 19TH AT HARRAHS PHILADELPHIA BEGINNING AT 7 PM

Ferrante of Philadelphia has been on the short end of bad circumstances over the past 15-months.

He has a record of 12-5 with 7 knockouts and is coming off a very controversial defeat to Anthony Caputo Smith for the Pennsylvania State Cruiserweight title on January 31.

The bout was a close battle that saw Ferrante score a knockdown during the fight but Caputo got the split decision victory by scores of 95-94 twice and 95-94 for Ferrante.

"Caputo knows he lost that fight," said Ferrante.  "I am looking forward to fighting him again on May 9.  We looked at the tape and when i knocked him down he got 15 seconds.  But he admitted to me he lost the fight and told me he will give me a rematch."

Ferrante is happy to get his second fight in less than two months as he had a tumultuous 2013 as when he thought he scored the biggest win of his career as he scored an explosive knockout over previously undefeated Isa Akberbayev but was later changed to a no-contest after a post fight drug test came up positive.  Ferrante was never given a reason for the positive test and he is insistent that he never took any banned substance.

"It is beautiful to get back in the ring so quick.  The situation in New York depressed me.  The decision to Caputo played with my mind but I am happy to get back in there."

When facing Martinez, Ferrante will be facing someone he is more than familiar with.

"I have sparred hundreds of rounds with Pedro.  We worked in the same gym for years and sometimes would spar four times a week.  This is not a fight I asked for but he was the only guy available that would fight."

Ferrante knows that he needs to win in order to secure the coveted rematch with Caputo.

"I am not looking past him.  He comes forward and likes to work the body.  This is a good test for me and I am not looking past his record.  I feel now that I am growing into my body and I can use my skills.  This is going to be a great fight," said Ferrante.

Besides that fight and the Hunter - Vicente fight, it will be a full night of action.

In eight round bouts:

Victor Vasquez (16-8-1, 7 KO's) of Philadelphia will try to avenge an earlier loss toOsnel Charles (9-8-1, 1 KO) of Atlantic City in a Lightweight bout.

Miguel Cartagena (11-0, 4 KO's) of Philadelphia battles Miguel Robles (12-3-2, 5 KO's) of San Juan, Puerto Rico in a Flyweight bout.

In four round bouts:

Anthony Prescott (2-3-1,1 KO) of Cherry Hill, NJ takes on Anthony Miller (1-0, 1 KO) of Wilmington, DE in a Jr. Middleweight bout.
