Saturday culminates big week for Club 1957 Management

Cartagena, Sosa and Brunson all in action on the heels of big knockout win by Tevin Farmer

Philadelphia (October 16, 2014) - This Saturday night, three fighters who compete under the Club 1957 Management banner will be in action as Miguel Cartegena (13-1, 5 KO's) takes on Emmanuel Rodriguez for the WBO Latino Bantamweight title.  On the same card in Caguas, Puerto Rico, Jr. Lightweight Jason Sosa (12-1-3, 8 KO's)  takes on Juan Cruz.  In Philadelphia, Jr. Middleweight Tyrone Brunson (22-2-1, 21 KO's) will battle DeCarlo Perez.

Just one week ago, Featherweight Tevin Farmer won his tenth consecutive bout with a one round destruction over Dominic Coca in Springfield, Virginia.

Farmer of Philadelphia took out Coca with one right hook to raise his record to 17-4-1 with four knockouts.

"I always had power and it was just a matter of time before it kicked in.  people will see more knockouts from me," said Farmer.

Farmer is ready for a fight that will put him in great position for a great opportunity.

"I would like to fight for something big.  It is up to my promoter and manager.  I am ready for that fight tomorrow."

Farmer is promoted by DiBella Entertainment.

Since he was a prized amateur, big things have been expected for Cartagena and on Saturday night could be the first step to realizing his championship aspirations.

"I am feeling good, strong and confident in myself.  I had a great camp and I am just ready and feeling good,"said Cartegena.

"This is the perfect time for me.  I have been preparing mentally and physically for this fight.  I am expecting a great show and I will give it all what I got and I will show everyone what I do."

As for Sosa, this will be his first fight in just over six months when he viciously stopped Michael Brooks in the ninth round of their fight in Atlantic City.

"I feel great and camp went really well.  It has been six months and I am ready to get back in there," said Sosa, who will be making his first fight under the Club 1957 Management banner.

"I am looking forward to perform. Being that the fight is in Puerto Rico, I feel that I am at home.  I was raised here and am excited to fight here."

He is facing an unknown quantity in Cruz, but the 26 year-old native of Camden, New Jersey is not concerned.

"I have no idea about him.  My job is to train and be prepared.  My trainer and manager take care of the other stuff. I am just excited and ready to go."

" The statement that we hear so often from boxers "Hard Work Pays Off" applies at every level and it is spreading like wildfire in the Club 1957 Stable. It is my job to ensure that every boxer has what they need so they can bring their best performance every time they step into the ring to fight. I am 24/7 with my team in contact with each of my boxers on a daily basis. This may seem obsessive but it works! I choose to work with specific boxers not only because they are elite athletes (which they are) but equally as important because they have committed to put boxing above all. This is just one of the many reasons why I have no doubt that Tyrone 'Young Gun" Brunson will be victorious over DeCarlo Perez this Saturday night. Tyrone is the more experienced boxer and the fact that he has extraordinary KO power, veteran boxing skills, and in shape...now that is just Dangerous! Obviously I am proud of Tyrone and he is prepared for anything,"said Club 1957 manager Mark Cipparone.

"This week for the stable could not have started off better as both Miguel and Sosa were there to support their gym mate in VA. as Tevin Farmer got things popping with his first round KO. The entire Team traveled together the next morning and we have been in PR  since last Sunday finishing up what Miguel calls his best camp ever! I enjoy every part of what I do and I will always give my best when it comes to my boxers... because as I said in the begining "Hard Work Pays Off!"

Club 1957 Management was founded in 2013 by local businessman Mark Cipparone.  Cipparone is the owner of the widely successful and popular Rocco's Collision.  Since the formation of Club 1957 Management he has guided the careers of some the top fighters in the country.  Currently he manages Heavyweight Joey Dawejko, Jr. Middleweight Tyrone Brunson, Welterweight Raymond Serrano, Bantamweight Miguel Cartegena, Jr. Lightweight Tevin Farmer and Jr. Lightweight Jason Sosa.

Maysonet,JrySr.jpgFebruary 12, 2013 - Puerto Rico's undefeated lightweight sensation, Jorge "Machito" Maysonet, Jr. (10-0, 9 KO's) returns to the ring February 23, 2013 at the Cosme Beitia Salamo Coliseum in Cataño, Puerto Rico.

Maysonet's opponent is fellow Boricua Pedro Salcedo (3-5, 2 KOs), a fighter who has never been knocked out, and has fought undefeated fighters José Pedraza ( 11-0, 7 KO's ) and Emmanuel Rodríguez ( 11-0, 7 KO's ), among others.

"Salcedo is a good opponent, and I plan to be the first to knock him out," said Maysonet. "Finally I'm fighting in front of my people of Cataño, that's a step every boxer dreams about.  The training has been very intense and I will prove on fight night that I am one of the top lightweight fighters in the world."

Maysonet's last fight was on October 26, 2012 in Puerto Rico, where he defeated one of the most evaded warriors in Puerto Rico, Ramesis Gil (8-4-5, 5 KO's), who had a spectacular 2012 with victories over former undefeated fighters Carney Bowman (16-1, 7 KO's) and Luis Joel González (9-1-1, 5 KO's).  Both fights were decision victories.

As an amateur standout, Maysonet Jr., amassed a record of 140 wins with only 10 defeats, winning various local tournaments like the José Barrientos and the José "Cheo" Aponte competitions.   In professional boxing, all Maysonet's knockouts have come in the very first round.

Maysonet Jr. is a member of "Team Puerto Rico", a collaboration between Gary Shaw Productions, Universal Promotions, Di Bella Entertainment and Warriors Boxing.  Their goal is to gather Puerto Rico's best boxing talent.
