HOBOKEN, NJ (May 24, 2012) - FIGHT NOW TV TM - America's only 24-hour combat sports and entertainment channel - will deliver exciting. World-class kickboxing and mixed-martial-arts action in the United States this Saturday afternoon live from Sweden.
"This is what FIGHT NOW TV is all about," said FIGHT NOW TV Co-Founder & General Manager Mike Garrow. "Whether it's boxing, mixed martial arts, Muay Thai or kickboxing, FIGHT NOW TV is committed to bringing the best combat-sports action in the world to American fight fans."
On tap are 13 fights, starting at 12:30 PM / ET, with a pair of MMA fights featuring American favorite Tony Lopez, a former King of the Cage Super Heavyweight and Heavyweight Champion.
Following the MMA fights will be sixteen of the best young fighters in the world battling in eight kickboxing matches, one featuring a pair of Americans, Michael Corley and Ky Hollenbeck, in "Glory First 16."
The non-stop clashes culminate with three "Glory Super Fights" -- Alex Harris(Sweden) vs. Nieck Holzken (Netherlands), Carter Williams (USA) vs.Gokhan Saki (Turkey), Errol Zimmerman (Surinam) vs. Semmy Schilt(Netherlands).
In the co-feature, popular 56-fight veteran Williams (34-20-2) is an underdog against Saki, who is considered a younger version, ironically, of Williams. The American fighter is a past North American Muay Thai Champion who also won a K1 World Grand Prix tournament in Las Vegas.
Zimmerman-Schilt headlines the powerful "Golden Glory" card, showcasing two of the best and most dangerous kick-boxers in the world. The 6' 3, 245-pound Zimmerman (76-16-1, 41 KOs), who fights out of the Netherlands, is a three-time Dutch Muay Thai Champion who won the 2008 K1 World Grand Prix in Amsterdam. He will be at a physical disadvantage, however, against the nearly 7-foot, 285-pound Schiltz.
Schilt (38-6-1, 17 KOs) is the only man to capture three consecutive K1 World Grand Prix titles and is tied with Ernesto Hoost for winning the most overall K1 World GP tournaments with four apiece. The Dutch giant has also been an MMA fighter in Pride, UFC and Pancrase.
All fights and fighters are subject to change.
