Introducing Amateur standout's Vito Mielnicki Jr. & Malik Nelson

NUTLEY, NJ (JULY 28, 2014)--The Following video is an interview with two of the best amateur boxers in the country.

12-year old Vito Mielnicki Jr. and 14-year old Malik Nelson just competed in the Junior National Championships in Las Vegas.

Mielnicki became a 3-time champion as he won in the 85 pound division that upped his record to 110-9.  Nelson came in 2nd in the 90 pound division and is now 76-5.

Both Mielnicki and Nelson are part of the Elite Heat Boxing Program in Nutley, New Jersey.

POWER HOUSE AMATEUR TEAM FROM THE ELITE HEAT GYM SHINE THIS PAST WEEKEND IN 3 TOURNAMENTS


NEWARK, NJ (NOVEMBER 25, 2013)--This past weekend members of the Powerhouse Amateur team that trains out of the Elite Heat Gym in Newark, NJ had successful showings in three different tournaments on the east coast.

First in Stamford, Connecticut, Silver Gloves National Champion Malik Nelson, who was competing in the 13-14 year-old, 85 pound division lost a close decision to Felix Rivera of Connecticut.  Nelson is trained by Charles Johnson.

In the same tourney, Jr. Golden Gloves national champion Vito Mielnicki Jr., who competes in the 11-12 year old, 80 pound division won a unanimous decision over Silver Gloves runner-up Xavier Ramirez of Reading, PA.

In the Metro championships that took place at Gleasons Gym in Brooklyn, NY.  Zyad Hassan who fights in the 11 year-old, 95 pound division lost in the finals while Louis Morales had two dominating wins to win the 14-15 year-old, 106 pound title.

Hassan and Morales are trained by Robinson Velez and Abdul Hassan.

In Lake Placid, New York Jonel Lorenzo won the regional tournament in the open class, 123 pound division.  That win qualified him for the National tournament.

Lorenzo is coached by Robert Griffin and Ahmed Elliot.

The Junior Olympic team is preparing for the state silver gloves for the state silver glover tournament that takes place on December 21stin Paterson, NJ.

ELITE HEAT BOXING TEAM MEMBERS HIGHLIGHT NEW JERSEY BOXING TEAM AT THE JR. NATIONAL GOLDEN GLOVES TOURNEY IN MESQUITE, NEVADA



NUTLEY, NJ (July 8, 2013)—This coming week three distinguished members of the McGirt / Elite Heat boxing team leave for Mesquite, Nevada to compete in the Jr. National Golden Gloves Tournament.

15-16 Year old Shakur Stevenson will compete in the 114 pound division.  Back in November, Shakur was honored as the Junior Olympic Boxer of the Year by the New Jersey Boxing Hall of Fame. He is coached by his grand-father Wali Moses, who is now a National Coach and Rob Griffin, who the VP of the NJ Association of USA Boxing,
Vito Mielnicki Jr. will take part in the 11-12 year old, 75 pound weight class and he will be looking to become a three-time National champion as he won in 2011 and 2012.

Malik Nelson will fight in the 13-14 year old 75 pound division and he will look for back to back titles.
The stacked team, which placed 3rd nationally, last year, will bring 20 fighters to the tournament.

ONCE AGAIN ELITE HEAT / McGirt BOXING TEAM TAKE HOME HARDWARE AT ADIDAS CUP IN QUEBEC


NEWARK, NJ —This past weekend, New Jersey’s number one amateur boxing team, The Elite Heat / McGirt Boxing Team traveled to Quebec, Canada and were dominant at the esteemed Adidas Cup.

The team which consists of 12 boxers that range in ages 9-18 competed in 31 bouts against some of the best in Canada and came away with an astonishing 27-4 record in those bouts.\

The roster consisted of some of the best Jr. Olympic youngsters in the country.

Kavon Robertson (12 Years Old, 85 lbs)—2011 National PAL Champion, 2012 Ringside World Champion.  Won the championship in Quebec

Malik Nelson (12 Years old 75 lbs.)—2012 Jr. Golden Gloves Champion, 2012 Ringside World Champion, 2013 National Silver Gloves champion.  Won the championship in Quebec.

Vito Mielnicki (11 Years old, 75 lbs)—2011 and 2012 National Golden Gloves champion, 2012 Ringside World Champion, 2011 Title National Champion.  Won the championship in Quebec.

Mudah Salaam (15 Years old, 132 lbs.)—2012 Silver Gloves National Champion.  3rd Place in Quebec

Jahlil Hackett (10 Years old, 80 lbs.) —2012 Title National Champion.  3rd Place in Quebec

Zahir Salaam (9 years old, 70 lbs.)—2012 Adidas National Champion.  Won the championship in Quebec

Zyaad Hassan (11 Years old, 85 lbs.)—Won the championship in Quebec.

Oscar Lopez (13 Years Old, 101 lbs.)—2nd Place in Quebec

Steven Ramirez (13 Years old, 106 lbs.)—3rd place in Quebec

Jeremy Saldana (15 Years Old, 141 lbs.)—Won the championship in Quebec

Jeffrey Rodriguez (15 Years old, 152 lbs.)—Won the championship in Quebec

Jonel Larenzo (19 Years Old, 132 lbs.)—Won the championship in Quebec.

What made these accomplishments even more impressive is that the all of the Elite Heat / McGirt boxers had to win 2 or 3 bouts to win their championships and the kids also had to fight up in weight and age.

The team showed skills, power and ability to box and were much more skilled then their Canadian opponents.

The Elite Heat / McGirt Boxing team is a grass roots team that are looking to build and groom the best boxers from the ground up.

The Elite Heat / McGirt will next travel to Washington, D.C ad take on the best amateur fighters from the nation’s capital.

The team is supported by GH3 Promotions and Greg Cohen Promotions and is coached by Charles Johnson, Bernard Hackett and Muhammad Salaam

ELITE HEAT BOXERS SHINE AT ELITE HEAT TOURNAMENT IN TRENTON


 
TRENTON, NJ (May 6, 2013)—this past weekend, The 3rd Annual Elite Heat Boxing Tournament took place at Trenton High School.
 
This tournament featured some of the top young amateurs in the United States
 
The Elite Heat Boxing Team performed very well taking home a lot of titles and medals.
 
Jr. Golden Gloves National Champ Malik Nelson and Silver Gloves National Champ Jeremy Ardono of Allentown, PA faced off in the 12year old- 80 lbs. class with Nelson winning a 2-1 decision.
 
In a special bout,  2-time Jr. Golden Gloves National Champion Vito Mielnicki, 10 years old and 75 pounds,  stepped up in weight and age  to box Jeremy Ardono, who was a silver glove national champion.  Mielnick won a close 2-1 decision.
 
Zahir Salaam who is 9 years old and 70 lbs. from Elite Heat won a 3-0 decision over Alex Aviles from Asbury Park, NJ
 
Elite Heat’s Ziyaad Hassan who is 11 years old and 90 lbs won a 3-0 decision over Antonio Hall of Plainfield, NJ.
 
John Bauza who is 14 years old and 132 lbs from Elite Heat defeated Luis Rosa from New York.
Dewyke Flemming 9 years old from elite heat won a 3 - 0 decision over Denit Bradwood from Sole City boxing from Toledo, OH.  
 
 Rajohn Chance who is 13 years old and 85 lbs. and a Jr. National Golden Gloves Champion had an impressive stoppage over highly touted Josui Kirkpatrick of Norfolk, VA
 
The Elite Heat Boxing Team will be travelling this Thursday to Quebec, Canada to compete in the Adidas Cup.

Elite Heat’s Boxers Fight Their Way To Nationals



To continue their dominating way, six amateur boxers from the renowned Elite Heat Boxing Gym in Newark, NJ cruised their way into the nationals, emerging as champions in the regional silver gloves tournament. 

Over the past few years Elite Heat has established itself as having one of the top amateur boxing programs in the nation, as they consistently produce champion fighters of all ages and weights.

“Team Elite Heat shined at the regionals,” said Vito Mielnicki, owner of Elite Heat Boxing.  “We took six out of eight boxers that qualified for the tournament to the nationals.”

The seventh boxer who made it into the nationals fought out of Garden State Boxing.

The results of the regional silver gloves are as follows:

Winning is nothing new for Team Elite when they travel to the national tournaments.  They have showed in each tournament that they have one of the most formidable amateur programs in the country, and expect to continue their dominating ways and win the championship in the 2013 Silver Gloves Nationals.

The accomplishments of Elite Heat’s young amateur boxers speak for themselves:

  • Vito Mielnicki is a 2 time Junior Golden Glove National Champion and 2012 Ringside World Champion
  • Malik Nelson is a Jr. Golden Glove Champion and 2012 Ringside World Champion

THREE ELITE HEAT BOXING TEAM MEMBERS WIN TITLES AT RINGSIDE TOURNEY


NEWARK, NEW JERSEY (August 11, 2012)—Three members of the Elite Heat Boxing team took home titles at the renowned Ringside World Championships Boxing Tournament in Kansas City.
In the 9-10 Year old / 70 lb Open division, Vito Mielnicki won three bouts; in the 11-12 /70 lb open division it was Malik Nelson had four wins and in the 13-14 Year old / 110 lb division Shakur Stevenson won four bouts to take home the title.

ELITE HEAT BOXING TEAM EXCELS AT JR. GOLDEN GLOVES TOURNEY IN LAS VEGAS

 NEWARK, NJ (July 25, 2012)—Once again, The Elite Heat Boxing Team out of Newark, New Jersey made their presence felt at this past weekend’s National Jr. Golden Gloves Tournament in Las Vegas.

The team placed third overall in the entire country.

Vito Mielnicki repeated at the 9-10 Year old national champion at 70 pounds as did Malik Nelson in the 11-12 Year old - 70 pound division; Eysa Dorsey 11-12 year old at 65 pounds and Dantrell Perry in the 15-16 year old -- 154 pound division.

Tysir Daniels took 2nd in the 9-10 year old -- 65 pound division.
