BRUNO ESCALANTE RETURNS TO THE RING SEPTEMBER 28 AT THE CACHE CREEK CASINO RESORT

August 15, 2013 - Super Flyweight prospect Bruno Escalante (9-1-1, 5KOs) is looking to return to action following his victory over Manuel Galaviz back on July 26th. The 24 year old Philippine native will be competing Saturday, September 28th in an 8 round affair against Joseph Rios (13-8-2, 4KOs) in the co-main event of a card being held at the Cache Creek Casino in Brooks, California.

Rios, who resides in Texas, will have to travel to hostile territory in order to compete in front of a packed house in Escalante's home state of California.  

Although Escalante is originally from the Philippines, he enjoys a healthy fan base in the state he now resides and that fan base will completely occupy the venue's capacity.

"It's a great feeling when you have a building full of your supporters and they're cheering you on, it can really make a positive impact in your performance.  I'm excited to be the co-main event and everyone keeps sending me their best regards and telling me they can't wait to see me in action.  I want to really give them a show and even though I'm the co-feature, I will be giving a main event type performance.

"Becoming a headliner is one of my goals in boxing.  I think I'm a lot closer to reaching that goal and that's why every performance is so important because each one puts me one step closer," Escalante said.

Escalante is preparing to step in the ring for the 4th time this year, but it will be his 3rd fight in 4 months and the activity level has allowed him to stay in the best shape of his life.

"I'm happy to be back in action and I never like to take too much time off. I know my body and if I need time to recover then I won't hesitate to take it, but right now I feel great, better than great. Come fight night, I'll put on the kind of performance that proves just how eager I am to move up the ladder," Escalante said.

"The venue is happy that so many people are coming to watch Bruno fight," said manager Herb Stone. "Tickets are going fast so I suggest everyone get theirs soon, before the venue sells out.  Bruno is quickly becoming one of the rising stars in the super-flyweight division.  I don't see Bruno slowing down and I plan to keep him busy throughout the rest of this year.  First thing is first, he must get past Rios."

SAN CARLOS, CA (July 27, 2013) - Last night hot prospect, Bruno Escalante (9-1-1, 5 KOs) continued his winning ways with a spectacular first round knockout against Manuel Galaviz (7-11, 4 KOs) of Sonora, Mexico.  The bout took place at the Fox Theatre in Redwood City, California.  Galaviz was down twice before he could not return for the second round.

HOT PROSPECT BRUNO ESCALANTE LOOKING TO CONQUER SUPER FLYWEIGHT DIVISION

SAN CARLOS, CA (July 16, 2013) - Hot prospect, Bruno Escalante (8-1-1, 4 KOs) is looking to make a name for himself in the Super flyweight division.  Born in Cebu City, Philippines, Escalante now resides in Northern California where he trains with Nonito Donaire, Brian Schwartz and Mike Bazzel. 

Having won his last fight by knockout by way of a vicious body shot, Escalante feels his power will be more evident as he's been improving on his body attack.  His next opponent will be Manuel Galaviz(7-10, 4 KOs) of Sonora, Mexico on July 26, 2013 at Fox Theater in Redwood City, California.  Escalante vs. Galviz will be the co-main attraction of the night. 

"I know I have the ability to take out my opponents and slow them down with hard body shots," said Escalante. "I've been improving on body attack for the last few months and I can see why it's so important to go downstairs.  With every fight I'm feeling more comfortable throwing my right hook to the ribs.  I'm getting better every time I step in the ring."

Manager Herb Stone feels Escalante has the ability to become a world champion and feels his style is fan friendly.  Escalante is known for being explosive with his punches.

"Bruno has a lot of talent and he has the skills to become a world champion," Stone said. "This will be his third fight of the year and I can see the improvement with each fight.  He's becoming very popular in his hometown of San Carlos where he trains with some of the best fighters in the world.  The Fox Theater in Redwood City is becoming a great venue to build up his fan base.  I see him fighting for a regional title very soon."

Training with Nonito Donaire has been very instrumental and inspiring to Escalante's career.   Donarie started off at the smaller weights and worked his way to the top of the pound for pound list, a feat Escalante sees as inspiration.

"Nonito is one of the best fighters in the world," stated Escalante. "He suffered a loss early in his career but bounced back to gain international recognition with an incredible winning streak.  I know if I work hard I can become a world champion and represent my country with honor, just like Donaire and Pacquiao.  The time is now to take my career to the next level.  On July 26th I'm coming to make a statement."
