Brooklyn, NY (December 8, 2014)--The Holiday Season is in full swing, and soon enough, we will be ringing in the New Year. Already, plans are being hashed out for the year in boxing 2015, and promoter Dmitriy Salita is anticipating the forthcoming year will be chock full of stellar live events, and marked growth for the fighters under his Star of David Promotions banner.  On Jan. 22, Star of David will throw a New Year's bash, and present an evening of professional boxing at the famed New York City venue Webster Hall, Salita announced today.  "I am happy to be back in Webster Hall, a beautiful landmark building in the heart of New York City," Salita said. "The January 22nd show will showcase some of the hottest contenders and prospects in the world. The card is stacked from top to bottom!"  Topping the bill will be cruiserweight contender Steven Bujaj (13-0-1), who will defend his New York State cruiserweight title in an eight round bout. Also on the card will be the man who gave Bujaj the roughest test of his career, Junior Wright (12-0-1). The Chicago-based hitter, newly signed to Star of David, fought Bujaj to a draw last May, and has notched two wins since that scrap. Wright will compete in a six-round bout. Wright, who has his eyes on a world title crack soon, is currently in training camp with WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson, to help the Canada-based fighter prepare for his next bout.  Salita is thrilled to have Russian cruiserweight Alexey Zubov (6-0, 4 KOs) on the Webster Hall event. The national amateur champion fought more than 120 amateur bouts, and possesses power in both hands, so it's a good bet he will score a highlight-reel knockout in NYC. Also compteting in six round bouts will be New York city favorites and Brooklyn Brawl regulars lightweight Dimash Niyazov (6-0-3, 4 KO's) & Middleweight Akil Auguste.  Marcos Suarez (3-0-1, 1 KO) will also return to the ring in a four-round Jr. Welterweight bout; all three have a loyal fan base who cheer them on at Star of David promotions.  Popular Italian fighter Super Featherweight  Floriano Pagliara, a fan fave in the NYC region, returns to the ring as well in a six round bout. Three-division world champ Amanda Serrano talks about her September 18 bout at the Master Theater in Brooklyn

Brooklyn, NY (September 15, 2014) -- Three-division world champion Amanda Serrano (21-1, 16 KO's) knows first hand that she has a tough fight on her hands this Thursday night at the Master Theater in Brooklyn when he she takes on Jackie Trivilino (9-8-3, 1 KO) in a rematch of a fight that took place on March 20, 2009.   Serrano won a majority decision and now in the long awaited rematch they will headline a seven bout card promoted by Dmitry Salita's Star of David Promotions.   The Featherweight bout is scheduled for 8-rounds.   The 25 year-old Serrano will be fighting in her native Brooklyn for the first time in three years after fighting in the Dominican Republic and Argentina.   "I feel good. I am ready to fight. I love to fight and it's going to be a war on Thursday,"said Serrano.   Even though she won the first encounter, Serrano is looking for a more emphatic victory.   "We fought before and now I know a lot more about her. I know she is confident. I am always confident. I am ready."   Serrano has won belts at 126, 130 and 135 pounds and is considered one of the top female fighters in the world.   "It feels great to be considered one of the best. There is a lot of pressure to keep world championship status. I am here because I have a great team. I am glad to be the first female fighter to be featured on Dmitry's shows."   Serrano is happy that she will be at the top of the card in her hometown.   "I am at the level where I am the main event. We have proved to the fans that we can be the co-main event and main event. It gives me an extra umph to be able to featured so high on the card."   With the perceived lack of opportunities, Serrano's manager/trainer Jordan Maldonado said that Serrano may have to starting fight abroad more. She has already fought in the Dominican Republic, Sweden and Argentina.   "Going to Europe is the only choice. The American promoters do not see the passion of these girls,"said Maldonado,   "There are great fighters like (newly crowned unified Welterweight champion) Cecilia Braekhus. When we were in Argentina we noticed how much pride they have in their women fighters. It's big in Peru and it's funny because I don't think the fighters anywhere are even is good as the fighters in New York. The women here are superior but we don't have the backing over here like they do in other parts of the world, so in order to people to win the title, get the recognition and fight for the purses that Amanda is worth, we will have to go over to Europe. All of our fighters are homegrown. We will fight anyone. Amanda just won the WBO title in Argentina. Amanda is not a New York fighter, she is considered a world fighter.", finished Maldonado.   Serrano countered by saying, "I want to fight wherever the opportunities are. I am a warrior. WBO lightweight Champion Amanda Serrano headlines Brooklyn Brawl

Brooklyn, NY  (September 3, 2014) -- Amanda Serrano will enter the ring at the Master Theater (Formerly the Millennium Theater) in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn on September. 18 with a brand new belt strapped around her waist, and the usual stone game-face signaling her intentions.   Serrano (21-1-1, with 16 KOs) is one of the headliners September 18, on a Star of David Promotions card put together by promoter Dmitriy Salita.    The 25-year-old southpaw recently traveled to Argentina and scored a 6th round stoppage win over Maria Elena Maderna, earning the WBO lightweight title. On Sept. 18, the Puerto Rican native will be sticking close to home, fighting in her borough.    The foe on this night will be, as is per usual on a Salita card, no easy triumph. Serrano, one half of the "Fighting Serrano Sisters", seven years junior to big sister Cindy Serrano, is to meet Jackie Trivilino, who'll show up with ample confidence.    "Amanda is an excellent athlete and so is Jackie," Salita said. "Women's boxing as a sport has come a long way in the last 10 years. Female boxers today are world class athletes, very skilled, in tremendous shape and determined to prove themselves in the sport."   Trivilino battled fan-favorite Heather Hardy at Barclays Center in her last outing, on June 14, and the Plattsburgh, NY native lost a technical decision by the most narrow of margins. Brooklyn Brawl invades Millennium Theater onThursday, February 27th with a vengeance and will feature competitive cross roads title fights

BROOKLYN, NY (JANUARY 31, 2014)--On Thursday night, February 27th Dmitry Salita's Star of David Promotions will present another edition of the popular Brooklyn Brawl series at the Millennium Theater in Brooklyn.  In the main event,  popular Steve Bujaj (10-0, 7 KO's) of New York takes on  upset minded prospect Elvin Sanchez (6-2-1, 5 KO's) of Paterson, NJ in a New York State Cruiserweight title bout scheduled for  8 rounds with bragging rights on the line. Billed as best prospect in New York City by Trainer of Champions Billy Jiles, Steve is looking to make an impression in his second "Brooklyn Brawl" appearance.  Sanchez is coming off a KO win over previously undefeated 13-0 Venroy July. This fight promises to deliver fire works in a very competitive cross roads title fight. In the 8 round co-feature hottest Polish prospect Michal "TNT" Chudecki (8-0-1, 3 KO's) of Poznan, Poland is looking to make a home for himself in Brooklyn, NY and win his first title as he takes on veteran and former New York State Lightweight Champion Edwin Valdez (12-10-2, 9 KO's) of New York.   Chudecki is looking to impress his fans state-side and carry the proud tradition of Polish boxing to the international stage at Brooklyn Brawl.
