Star of David Promotions inks amateur standout pro prospect Alexey Zubov

Brooklyn, NY (December 1, 2014)--Dmitriy Salita is pleased and excited to announce a new addition to the Star of David Promotions roster.   Cruiserweight prospect Alexey Zubov, a Russian-born boxer with a tremendous amateur predigree, and 6-0 (4 KOs) mark as a professional, has been signed to Star of David, the promoter announced today.   The 28-year-old right-hander Zubov is 6-2 1/2, owns power in both hands, and will be moving to NYC to make his stand in the professional ranks. He debuted in April with a KO1 win, and Salita sees a bunch more of those type of victories coming in the near future.   "Alexey is one of the best prospects in boxing," Salita said. "He has the skills, size and work ethic to be a cruiserweight and heavyweight champion. The invaluable experience he gained as an elite amateur will help him progress quickly in the pros. Steven Martinez to take on undefeated Chris Pearson on August 30 on ShoBOX

Brooklyn, NY  (August 15, 2014) -- Power hitter Steve Martinez is on a mission to climb the junior middleweight ladder and his promoter Dmitriy Salita of Star of David Promotions has announced the opponent who is the next rung on the boxers' upward climb.   Martinez (15-0, 12 KO's)  is a resident of the Bronx, will take on Chris Pearson August 30, on "ShoBox."   Martinez is a  24-year-old right-hander, who possesses ample power in both hands, and a closer mentality.'   The fight is slated for the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, and will screen on Showtime, on their series which spotlights only the best and brightest up and comers in the game.   "Steve Martinez is a product of the Brooklyn Braw series and as a result of consecutive victories, in February and then again in May, on Star of David cards, he's moving up the ranks," Salita said.   Pearson, a 23-year-old left-hander from Ohio, sports an 11-0 (9 KOs) mark.   Salita is impressed at the condition Martinez is in and expects him to hand Pearson the first blemish on his ledger. The promoter says Martinez stayed in stellar shape after a July 25 bout against John Thompson was scrapped because Thompson was in a car accident. AMERICAN CRUISERWEIGHT CONTENDER JUNIOR "HURRICANE" WRIGHT signs with Star of David Promotions

BROOKLYN (July 8, 2014)-- Star of David Promotions boss Dmitriy Salita is pleased and excited to announce that Junior Wright, a cruiserweight contender from Chicago,has signed a promotional deal.   The 27-year-old Wright, a three-time (2006, 2008, 2009) Chicago Golden Gloves champion, came to the attention of Salita when he expertly fought Steve Bujaj on Salita's May 15 card in Brooklyn. That bout, a ten round draw while the vacant WBC International cruiserweight title was up for grabs, drew buzz for being a Fight of the Year candidate. "Junior Wright is one of the best cruiserweights in the world," Salita said. "He is the kind of fighter the sport needs. From the early stages of his career he has shown the desire to fight and beat the best available fighters. His last fight was one of the best live fights I have ever seen." Wright grew up in a Chicago neighborhood where involvement in gangs could have taken him to a dark place.
