Elton Dharry to headline his own promotion on Friday, August 1 against Antwan Robertson at the Amazura Concert Hall in Queens, NY

AMANDA SERRANO TO HEADLINE THIS SATURDAY NIGHT AT THE RESORTS WORLD CASINO NEW YORK CITY IN QUEENS

QUEENS, NY (June 27, 2013)—Professional Boxing returns this Saturday night to the Resorts World Casino New York City as New Legend Boxing, Old World Boxing & W.O.N Promotions present another great night of boxing featuring a host of  local prospects from the New York metropolitan area.

In the main event, current UBF world champion, Amanda Serrano will take on Dominga Oliva in a six round Women’s Featherweight bout.  Serrano of Bushwick, Brooklyn, New York has an outstanding mark of 17-1-1 with 12 wins coming by way of knockout.  Serrano began her career with a 12-0-1 record, which included big wins over undefeated Christina Ruiz and Nydia Feliciano, as well as capturing the NABF with a 1^st round knockout over Jennifer Scott.  Serrano also captured the IBF Featherweight title with a 2^nd round stoppage over Kimberly Connor.  After suffering her only defeat to undefeated Frida Wallberg in Wallberg’s home country of Sweden, Serrano bounced back, notching another three consecutive 1^st round knockouts with the latest being on February 16^th over Wanda Pena Ozuna in the Dominican Republic.

Amanda Serrano and her sister Cindy, who hail from Puerto Rico, recently graced the cover of LatinTRENDS magazine’s June 2013 edition. The Serrano’s are the only known pair of sisters, professional women boxers, who are still fighting and ranked in the top ten of the IBF, WBC and WBA.

Dominga Oliva of Brooklyn, New York has a record of 8-7-1.  Oliva is a highly experienced boxer who is a three time Golden Gloves and National Champion in the United States.  Oliva has challenged for the WBC Featherweight title and fought to a disputed draw with highly regarded Jelena Mrdjenovich in Mrdjenovich’s hometown of Edmonton.  Oliva has wins over undefeated Tiffany Junot, Denise Moses and Ana Julaton.  Oliva is coming off a seventh round technical decision to Ji-Hye Woo on April 9, 2011 in South Korea.

JOE GREENE AND ANTOINE DOUGLAS RETURN JANUARY 10TH AT CORDON BLEU IN WOODHAVEN, NY

WOODHAVEN, NY (January 3, 2013)—Welterweight contender Joe Greene will Headline a big night of boxing on Thursday January 10^th at the Cordon Bleu in the Woodhaven section of Queens, New York.

WILLPOWER: Rosinsky Grinds Out Victory against Griffin!

 

 

New York, NY (December 20, 2012) – Super middleweight contender Will “Power” Rosinsky earned a hard-fought ten round unanimous decision over former USBA Light Heavyweight titlist Otis “Triple OG” Griffin Wednesday evening at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City.

 

With a packed house roaring him on, Rosinsky fought through a few rough moments in the early going. The Queens, NY native got cut over his left eye in the opening round and was briefly hurt by a right hand near the end of the second, but battled his way back. Griffin, who had a 3 inch height and six inch reach advantage, connected with some good shots from the outside and boxed effectively in spots, but Rosinsky constantly pressured Griffin in close quarters. 

 

The 2005 US Amateur Champion found a home for straight right hands and body shots, outworking his Sacramento, CA based foe for the majority of the bout. Although it was a closely fought contest, Rosinsky’s consistency earned him the nod.

 

Scores were 97-93 and 96-94 twice. With the victory, Rosinsky improves to 17-2 with 9 knockouts while claiming the New York State Light Heavyweight title.

 

“I definitely was in shape for this fight but (Griffin) was (the bigger man) and my punches didn't have the same impact they do do at super middleweight,” said Rosinsky, who moved up to light heavyweight against Griffin. “Griffin was comfortable at 175 and I knew he was a tough guy who fought a lot of the top light heavyweights. In 2013, I’ll be moving down to 168 and perhaps even 160.”
